The Bruno Room

I was a new client as of this weekend, and now I plan to only go back to him. I have super long, curly hair that requires a good cut– he knew what I needed before I even got the chance to tell him. I hadn’t had a dry cut before, it seems to be his specialty. I appreciated the fact that he listened to what was important to me but more so he guided me in deciding what way to go color wise, and am so glad I listened– it’s way better now, the change is subtle but noticeable enough. The space was easy to find, was able to park close, and he was easy to chat with while still allowing me to relax.

Didn’t show up for the appointment, didn’t return the phone call trying to find out if he was coming and/​or if the time and day was correct, and nothing via email. Clearly not interested in new clients.

My entire family has been lucky enough to have Bruno as our stylist. My daughters have had EVERYTHING done from basic color to ombré looks and highlights. They each have different hair qualities: straight, super curly, and wavy. Cuts are perfect. I’d never had a dry cut before but I am a huge fan. Precision cutting is Bruno’s forte and his color is magnificent. Top that off with the nicest person you’ll meet in a salon, anywhere. Nothing fake; genuine!

You have to use him. He fixed my bob that was done incorrectly at another salon and saved my hair. He really looks at the dimensions of your face and how your hair falls which leads to a great cut.

Bruno has given me a couple of the best haircuts I’ve ever had. My hair over the years has become kinkier, dryer, and harder to work with but he makes it look great. Plus, he’s just fun to hang out and talk with! Highly recommended!

I’ve been seeing Bruno for a few years now and wouldn’t let anyone else touch my hair! He does a great job of helping you determine what will (and won’t) look best on you. Booking appointments with him through his website is easy and convenient, parking is usually pretty easy to find on the surface streets nearby, and his studio is clean, modern and easy to find.

My second time here to get color highlights & cut. I was a little nervous. He really made the purple pop, still getting used to the vibrance. His dry cut has tamed my double cowlick too! Plan to go back so he can continue to sculpt my look.

I have seen Bruno for years at his prior location. When he moved I thought I would try a local person I could walk to, but she just did not have the expertise and I am back with Bruno. As always, he does a great job, the best with layers (love the dry cut) and just a super nice guy, great conversation. I highly recommend seeing Bruno if seeking a new stylist. My brother in law has also seen him for years and a colleague also got a great cut after I recommended him. His scheduling is easy and there was easy parking.

Just had my first dry cut. Wasn’t sure what to expect, but entirely impressed with Bruno, both his professional, sensible, clear explanation of the process, but mostly – the result. Entirely recommended.

Not many stylist can pull off an inverted bob… Bruno can. His cuts are spot on. Every line, every angle is perfect. I’m extremely picky with my haircuts, especially my inverted bob. That is why I decided to grow it long. I just couldn’t find a stylist that could keep it up… Until Bruno.
I am never disappointed with his dry haircuts, he always makes my hair look amazing and if you’ve never had a dry haircut you’re missing out.
I constantly get compliments on my hair. He knows what he is doing. He knows hair, he knows how to cut ‘your’ hair to get what ‘you’ want.

First time at The Bruno Room. He does a fantastic job! I was a bit skeptical at first about the «dry cut» because of my naturally curly hair. Bruno worked wonders. I’ve dealt with many «oh yeah, curly hair? no problem!» hair stylists and not once has any gotten it right. Until I let Bruno cut my hair. His little space is relaxing and has a street view. He is very easy to talk to and never a dull moment. Definitely going back!

Bruno is a master stylist. His dry cut technique and technical skill in color produced one of the best hairstyles I’ve had in a long time. Other pluses: a great website and appointment scheduling system, as well as a modern, comfortable, private space in the Aspira building downtown. I’m definitely going back!

Bruno and my experience with his was superb.
First, he was on time. In fact, I arrived just a few minutes early and he was all ready for me. I understand that delays can happen but it is SO very refreshing when you make an appointment and the establishment with whom you’ve made it is able to honor it.
He really took the time to fully understand what I wanted out of my cut. I filled out a profile on my lifestyle as well as my usual hair routine. I like that it is in writing because, let’s face it, as much as we all want to remember everything, it’s impossible. This was a very professional and easy way to handle this problem.
I also really like that he does dry hair cuts. He explained why he does them and the history behind dry hair cuts. I think I’ll be doing dry hair cuts from now on!
Finally, I love the final result. My hair has so much movement! You know the feeling you get after you walk out of a salon and you look fantastic then you feel fantastic as well? I had that for the rest of the day and had a sass and spring to my step.

Bruno is phenomenal.
Admittedly, I’m a discount haircut kind of gal. At least I was in the past. Now I’m a total convert and after living in my new haircut for just one day I have no qualms about paying salon price to have Bruno cut my hair. His expertise and care is far and away superior to anything I’ve yet encountered.
His studio is a small room, one chair setup, which was actually kind of cool. I’m not used to being the only person in a salon and I appreciated the individual attention. Chill music… hot tea… a nice relaxing time. Good shampoo too. This is one of my favorite parts of a haircut and he really got in there and scrubbed.
He took the time to really «get to know» my hair, with the aim of learning over time its ins and outs and how it changes and what I find I like. I’ve had a dry cut once before, and thought that the technique really worked well for my hair and style of cut, but Bruno seems to be a master of this. My dry cut here was really much better than my previous cut. He thinned my hair by hand instead of with thinning shears and made the shape and balance really nice. He also gave me the best bangs I’ve ever had. They actually stay in the shape that I want them to be and work into the overall shape of my cut. For the first time – maybe ever – I slept on my style and it still looks *perfect* this morning. Magic.
He is also very observant and knowledgeable. He was able to tell that I’d used henna in my hair a couple of years ago based on a VERY slight color change on the lower half of my hair that even I didn’t notice until he pointed it out. He also could feel where there was unevenness in how my hair was thinned previously.
I’m really ecstatic about my experience here and am raving about it to anyone who will listen. I’ll be back in a couple of weeks to have my bangs trimmed…

Bruno is the best in the business for men’s hair! I’m a guy with a complicated head (2 cowlicks) who is particular about his hair. I’ve been to tons of different stylists in many cities (New Orleans, Boston, Seattle), and Bruno is quite literally the best person to ever cut my hair. He has great insight into what cuts work best for you; he can create cuts that are versatile (professional for work; edgy for play); and he is mindful of how a haircut will change over the weeks in-​between salon visits. He is the man!

Bruno is different than any other hair stylist you will encounter. He has a great ability to create an edgy haircut without going over board. He will find the cut that fits your style while adding style to it. I would say out of all the stylist I met Bruno is very artistic with the way he styles. I think it’s his ability to stay with the current trends combined with creativity makes him probably one of the best hair stylist I have encountered. Bruno is the goods.
He also uses the «drycut» technique which not many use because not anybody can do it. His «drycut technique allows chisel away to create shapes and to ensure proper balance. Cutting hair dry enables to remove bulk and weight to create movement and dimension.»

Bruno still remains the only hairdresser for me, my daughter, my step daughter and her mother. He not only does a great cut, he also does an amazing job with color. Like his perfectionist hair cuts, his color is equally well thought out and executed. I think his success is largely do to his ability to communicate and understand what look his client is trying to achieve.
My 18 year old daughter (voted Most Trendy”) in her high school yearbook is his biggest fan. I like Bruno because his hair cuts/​colors are well executed, fun, but still appropriate for school photos, interviews etc.

We’ve been going to Bruno for years. Family, friends, neighbors really like Bruno as a person and we all really like his dry hair cut method. He is very current, so both my daughters like him. As an artist he stays on the cutting edge, in both cuts and color.
I like Bruno because he does what I want, the cut is good, and it lasts for a long time. Bruno has finally moved to a more centralized downtown location. We (neighbors and friends included) used to drive from Madison Park to Ballard. (grueling since the appointments weren’t on the same day). But it was worth it. However, this new location is a lot easier.
