Nice place, quiet enough for a good conversation.
Really enjoyed the crab cake with a fresh salad.
I wish the service was better — especially since it was not crowded.

I came here on a Friday afternoon — and was seated immediately. I was dining by myself so I sat at the chefs counter — which is a little less impressive than advertised. There is the opportunity to watch the chefs cook but its nothing too amazing — they aren’t cooking super mysterious or delicious food. The seats are nice and comfortable — so a good plus. I ordered the salmon BLT paired with an amnesia porter. What an impressive combination — the beer paired really well with the sandwich. The salmon was beautifully blackened and tasted really nice with the bacon. Service was impeccable — my waiter brought the food promptly and was very nice.
I would come here again — as the food is delicious and restaurant is beautiful.

Okay… if your by yourself don’t sit at the patio. it’s mostly for groups because you will indeed be ignored by yourself… I was almost tempted to walk into the bar since it’s empty and order. The servers are in no way attentive and it was just horrible. If you didn’t want me to sit in the area maybe there should be a sign that says large groups only on the patio.
I came to the Brooklyn Seafood, Steak & Oyster House because I heard they had a decent happy hour. Which Starts at 4:00 to 6:00. Small dishes ranging from about $ 6-​$ 3. Oysters of the day were Kings Gold’s Oysters $ 1.75 each. So I ordered a half dozen. These were served with a mignonette, cocktail sauce and horseradish and a grapefruit granita.
Honestly the highlight of my happy hour other then being in Seattle’s lovely summer weather on a patio is the grapefruit granita. Genius simple but genius none the less… They should just offer that on the happy hour menu lol. Oyster presentation was very picture worthy and they were a decent size. But after the horrible service I experienced on a weekday with a less then full restaurant makes me wonder. Will I think about returning… is questioning especially since I only attended for happy hour.

Was eating here the other day and I enjoy it! Prices are affordable. The services was attentive and friendly. The food is absolutely amazing! Definitely deserve a 5 star rating! highly recommend eating here!

After having a less than acceptable experience on my first visit back in October; I and a colleague decided to give this place another shot. Recognizing, of course, some times people and places have an «off day.»
This visit (¹⁄₁₄) dining in the bar area at a table was a complete turn around from before. Our server, Sarah, was simply fantastic. She provided thoughtful & spot-​on recommendations and was very attentive to our table.
I genuinely appreciate great service. One can dine at the best restaurant in any given city but if the service is poor… the entire experience is poor. This phenomenon goes both ways. However, when you have great service coupled with great food… it is worth writing about!

Still a beautiful restaurant. The best ambiance for a nice romantic evening. The wait staff is very professional. They stay on top of their clientele even when things get hectic on a Saturday night.
Unfortunately, the quality of the dinner entrees was not up to the standards of what used to be an amzing place.
We started off with the Oyster and Vodka sampler with Caviar. Lots of fun to pair 4 different vodka with different oysters. The caviar adds an extra flair. The broth of the Penn Cove Mussels was SALTY. (BOOO! to whomever’s decision it was to make us pay and extra $ 3.50 for bread that should come with it). The Caesar’s Salad with anchovies was good, but infused with too much dressing.
For our entrees we had the Berkshire Pork Ribeye and the Yellowfin Tuna. We were warned that the Pork Ribeye would take 45 minutes to prepare. It could have been good, but had way too much reduction (extremely sweet). I couldn’t tell how good the Yellowfin was because there were so many confusing tastes. We were told later that we could have order the tripoint plate. I think that would have been a better option for this particular item. It also tasted like it had been sitting under the relight for a long time while waiting for the 45 minutes prep of the Ribeye.
For Dessert, we had the Warm Valrhona Chocolate Cake. It was okay.
One thing we were surprised about, after ordering drinks, 3 appetizers, two entrees and dessert, the bill was actually quite reasonable, $ 150.00. Very impressive for such an upscale restaurant.
If I had a chance to talk to the chef, I would suggest he should simplify the plates.

I arrived today at 4pm for Happy Hour with some coworkers. We were told that we could only sit in the bar which was fine. There are ONLY bar stools in this area. One member in our party is permanently disabled, walks with crutches and cannot get up onto a bar stool. I quietly explained the situation to the host and asked if there were any tables at which we could sit. He said no. I asked if we could please sit at a table in the adjacent dining area. The host said we would have to wait until 5pm and we could not observe the happy hour prices.
I was surprised and assumed he misunderstood our request. We weren’t asking to be jerks, a member of our party was physically unable to sit in the bar area. So I said, «You have no seating during happy hour for physically disabled patrons and you wish to charge us more money?» He said, «correct.»
We left. I won’t return and I’ll be sure to share this story with as many people as possible. Hopefully you will not patronize places that refuse to meet ADA requirements either.

Interesting set up here. You can elect to sit at the «chef’s table» where you basically sit bar style and see the staff cooking and prepping food to take to tables. We had oysters on the half shell as an appetizer and I had the dayboat scallops, which were awesome.

My February review said I hoped recent bad experiences were an anomaly. Based on my most recent visit a few weeks back that wasn’t the case.
Brooklyn is still a good place as witnessed by their crowds and need for reservations, however not nearly as much for me as in the past. Just short of $ 50 for a smallish steak, now no better than is available in similar upscale restaurants within walking distance, means I will no longer default to Brooklyn.
Default yes to Wild Ginger, Brooklyn, no.

A fine restaurant environment to have a casual conversation without any distractions. The service staff was cordial, efficient, and professional. The meal dishes themselves where very disappointing, both in presentation and in taste. The rib eye pork that was ordered lack any fulfillment for my palate. It was very dry, thick, and overwhelming regarding portions that where given. The absent of any flavor from this dish made it a chore to finish it to meet my appetite demands. Maybe it was just this dish, regardless the write ups for this place deserves getting a second opinion.

If you’re downtown and not sure what you want to eat, pop into The Brooklyn and sit at the beautiful copper counter. Jeremiah & Anthony were our tag team bartenders who knew their drinks. My husband described what type of whiskey flavor he wanted and they nailed it.
The oyster & beer sampler is just right for a light appetite and the cost is on the cheap. My husband ordered the wedge salad, a classic delicious salad that seems to go with the atmosphere of this restaurant.
So if you’re looking for a great vibe with the food to match, give this experience a try.

I love this place.
My boyfriend and I recently visited Seattle, and had to go here! We had the beer and oyster sampler, and then a ton more oysters! The staff was really nice and friendly, and the vibe in the place was great.
Only downfall; Some of the language the staff used when they were talking to each other was a little vulgar to be using around customers.
–don’t get me wrong, I use bad language all the time, but in a professional environment, you keep it classy, not trashy.
That’s the only thing I would say was eh about this place. The food was amazing!!!

This was one of my favorite meals while in Seattle. The atmosphere at The Brooklyn is casual but refined at the same time. If you choose to sit at the counter, you will be surprised by the big lounge chairs which I found very unique. We chose to sit at one of the booths and our server came over immediately and introduced himself. He was very pleasant and attentive to our needs throughout the meal.
My father chose to begin with the Flight of Oysters & Wine and he was blown away by the pairings. I am not a fan of oysters but I can certainly appreciate people’s taste for them. I chose to order the Filet Mignon and to say I was blown away by the tenderness and flavor of the meat is an understatement. I’ve had countless Filet Mignon’s in my life and this one ranks in the Top 3. It was served with crunchy onion rings which were amazing on a bed of red bliss scalloped potatoes that were delicious. The Bordelaise sauce which is made up of red wine, butter, bone marrow and shallots was rich but it didn’t overpower the flavor of the steak. I still taste that steak and it tempts me to get on a plane just to have dinner in Seattle!
Being a firm believer in «you get what you pay for», the prices at The Brooklyn are just right for the quality you are receiving. My Filet was $ 48 and well worth it. The day I return to Seattle, I will definitely be back to The Brooklyn!

— ordered the duck entrée and asked the waiter (Nick) to recommend a glass of red to accompany, enjoyed the red but unfortunately I can’t remember what it was (a cab blend, if that helps at all)
— was about to close but seated us anyway (+ .5 star)
— the duck was a perfect medium rare, soft and pink, unfortunately the skin was soggy and hadn’t been seared enough, as there was quite a bit of fat leftover
— the couscous was bland but the sauce complimented the duck well
— though I appreciated the herb infused olive oil that came with the bread, the bread itself was a bit stale and unimpressive considering it wasn’t complimentary

I love Brooklyn!
I love their oysters and wine flight. Their wine selections are outstanding and food are as well.
Great salmon, awesome ceasar, seafood cioppino, burger… don’t care for their happy hour selection though.

While the boyfriend introduced me to one of my least favorite places in the Seattle area (the Boiling Point), he happened to introduce me to The Brooklyn in the same week. Talk about instant redemption for him!
A classy restaurant with some exquisite plates. I was happy to have been seated outside, because I was not dressed in preparation for a place of this caliber. Furthermore, they were gracious enough to let our dog sit with us (just outside of the outdoor dining area so as to not cause a stir with the other guests).
Jeremiah served us, and he had a great blend of professionalism and personality! On top of that, he was quick with everything we ordered. Extra points for asking about time constraints as some of their dishes take time to prepare. Even the other staff members at this restaurant were kind to us.
We stuck with the small plates for a lighter dinner.
Crab cake (yep, just one) is about a six inch cake lightly fried, with fresh crab chunks topped with ginger and greens, edged with three sauces. Presentation FTW!
Caprese was the most unique I’ve seen yet. Not your typical layered tomatoes. A plate full of a variety of tomatoes tossed with slices of mozzarella and small balls of it as well. Of course, the balsamic was drizzled over those ingredients and basil bits plus basil leaves were tossed in. Loved.
Bread didn’t have any special memory to it, however the oil + herb dip drowning a slice of butter was really satisfying.
Maybe next time I’m dressed to the nines, I’ll step inside the restaurant. But while the weather is nice, the outdoor courtyard was perfect.

Stopped in for dinner and was pleasantly surprised when I found out I can order beer and oysters all on one plate. That was pretty awesome. For my meal, I just got more oysters and a lot more beer. The oysters were good, not great. The beer was also, just ok. I sat at the bar and got really good friendly service including a lot of good info on the menu. I also thought the interior was super jazzy with a very cool retro vibe.

Great happy hour food! This review is just for the HH dishes and service.
I got half a dozen oysters, the ahi tuna tacos, and the ceviche. All delicious and reasonably priced during HH. The ceviche was my favorite — a little sweet and the shrimp was fresh. The oysters were also fresh and a little salty. I thought the tuna tacos were okay, not my favorite out of the three, but still worth a try.
Good service and nice patio area to sit outside on a nice day.

After much debate on where we would eat we decided on The Brooklyn. We were able to find an open spot at the bar for happy hour and ordered
Blue Cheese steak bites — was a bit overcooked/​tough but the fact that they come bite sized helps. They were tasty and if i was still hungry I actually would have ordered a second plate
Truffle Mac n Cheese — nice and cheesy, not much more to say… it’s mac n cheese
Wild Alaskan King Salmon — was perfectly cooked and had a very nice alder smoked flavor to it. I’d definitely go back and eat this again
