Not a bad little place for the price. I’m a little surprised that people expected much out of 3.99 and down entrees. I had the Turkey Panini and it was good! It’s a pretty thin sandwich, but again, it was super super cheap. The sourdough bread they use is delicious though. Of course, it’s pretty hard to mess up a panini. The staff is really nice, though the cashier looked like he was a little lost. I would recommend this place if you’re looking for a really cheap and quick meal on the Ave. …or if you’re a stalker. The windows facing out to 45th and Brooklyn are huge and great for creepily staring at people as they saunter across the intersections.

If I could give it zero I would. My coworkers and I went there for lunch when they reopened. My coworker got a «cup» of clam chowder, but it was barely a cup. You could literally eat it in two bites. I got the chili and rice which was okay, but I could have definitely just opened a can of chili from home and put it over rice myself. Nothing special. The food is definitely not worth it and we will never go there again.

So I was exploring the area around UW on foot and needed a place to grab a quick bite and the BC totally fit the bill. It’s cheap, fast and under control. I was initially lured by the $ 2.99 sandwiches, but the nice lady behind the counter recommended the Thai wrap for a buck more. It came out fresh and piping hot and totally hit the spot. They even had that Siracha sauce I like(I’ve been seeing it a lot around Seattle, actually). I don’t know why some fellow Unilocalers are baggin’ on this place. The service is super friendly and it’s cheap and reliable. They’re right on the corner too and it’s great for people watching.

Okay, I went back again since I had to grab a quick lunch and I wanted to give it another chance(after being underwhelmed the first time I went) – especially since I reviewed it on their opening day. I’m eating my Santa Fe Wrap as I type this and am sad to say it’s not much better than the last wrap I got(Thai). The chicken is severely overcooked to the point of being like paste. There’s no zing or zip… just blandness. The corn and beans are providing some texture to make it a little more interesting, but when legumes are the highlight of a meat-based wrap, that’s not saying much. On the positive side, the woman who worked the counter and made my wrap was friendly and smiled while she worked(how often do you see that?). Also, she did an expert job of assembling the wrap and it has a lovely presentation. Sigh…convenience certainly doesn’t outweigh the unfortunate quality of the food I experienced here. Next time, I might as well heat up the Lean Cuisine in the back of the freezer in employee kitchen at my office.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I’ve been in 2x’s(more if we count, when it was called Matt’s Gourmet Hot Dogs”). The first time there was a nice and presumably thai woman behind the counter. I ordered the cheese quesadilla, and my fiancé ordered the veggie dog. I tried his, and it was so-so, exactly what you would get for a couple bucks. The quesadilla was pretty good, I have to say. At least for 3.99 it was. I decided to go again tonight and was a little weirded out that the guy that was ALWAYS working there when it was Matt’s Hot Dogs was still working there under the new ownership. I wondered if my experience would not be as good as the last time, because I’m not too sure he gives a damn about the place. I felt bad about coming in at 6:30 because of his behavior towards me. I ordered one of the bowls, and thought it sounded good. MYMISTAKE. The bowl(which was not the chili bowl), was almost entirely chili and raw onions, with a few specks of rice and cheese that was very difficult to stir. I asked him if they were closing and he said an hour, so I tipped him a dollar but man this was just a terrible wast of money. I know I only payed 2.50 for the meal, but I would have rather of gone to pagliacci’s and gotten something that I know is going to be good, no matter who is working. Try to go in, if the woman is working, it’s not regrettable and won’ give you indigestion.

So, I came here with a friend. We both ate hot dogs. I had a Chicago Dog. It was everything you’d expect. The friend had a Chili Dog. It was messy, but somehow we both managed not to spill on ourselves. They had Delilah tuned in on the radio which provided lots of giggles at the songs playing. There was what looked like a bullet hole in the window — but made from the inside. I spent a lot of time pondering how a bullet hole was caused inside. It was exactly what I’d expect from a little hot dog place. I’d go again — the service was friendly, the food was pretty good, and prices were right!
