The WORST. I was looking for a custom spray tan for my wedding, and had read all of the reviews on here so I went to try it. The technician was completely unprofessional and I was left orange with streaks everywhere and bright orange hands. I contacted the owner, who apologized and offered to have me come in again to try it — I thought that was nice and said yes, but then never heard from her again. I emailed again and no response.
If you want a good, custom spray tan, contact Wendy at Divine Tan. MUCH better experience, Wendy is professional and my hands werent orange.
I will never go to the Bronze Bar and recommend you don’t either.

Kaia was amazing… This was my first time being sprayed on. She gave me a great tan and also some great Seattle restaurant and bar recs at the same time. I loved the personalized service. Will definitely come back

Getting spray tanned is definitely not something I do on the regular (okay this was my first time), so I guess I don’t know how exactly this compares to other spray tans. I’m afraid to even try the ones at the tanning salons. Here is what I do know: First the staff (Kaya was the one working) was super friendly and professional. I mean, its a real skill to be able to make someone feel totally at ease standing buck naked in front of you, but she did. It less than 15 minutes I was sprayed down, and in 20 minutes I was out the door. The tan developed over about 8 hours and was a nice light brown. Overall it was pretty even (you are getting a spray tan though, so you can’t expect it to look exactly like an actual tan… I will take that over skin cancer and wrinkles). The next day I noticed that there was one area that either didn’t get sprayed or that rubbed off (ahem, the area where my buttocks meets my leg and creates a crevasse). Kaya was very accommodating, and let me come back in for a quick spray down in that region to help remedy the problem.
I went during their happy hour, so the price was on the more affordable side. Still not something I would do all the time, but nice for an occasion. I would definitely go back next time I’m in need of some bronzing:)

I just got my first spray tan and think I may have a new addiction. The gal that checked my in and sprayed me was wonderful. She made me feel totally normal even though I was totally naked. The space was easy to get to, and parking was no problem.
I liked the whole process so much, that I bought two and got one for free. Looks like I’m going to be tan for the summer.

A friend recommended The Bronze Bar for sunless tanning — I was looking for an even glow for the wedding and didn’t want the streaked results I’ve experienced with Mystic Tan. I was satisfied with the overall color. The process is a bit unusual: you stand stark naked, in a tent, making small talk with the sprayer for 10 minutes, then wait for a few minutes before getting dressed. Although the process was pricey ($ 100 for 2 sessions), and I had one thumb darker than the rest, overall it was a success– my pictures showed me with a «healthy glow» unlike my usual pale self. I’d return for a special occasion!

I love this place, while the rain pours and pours and I work my butt off I can still look like i have been basking in the sun. Prior to getting in my 30’s I never took skin care or sun damage seriously. I laughed at people who told me i needed sun care etc well now I listen. I like to have color on my body and I am very cautious not to expose my face to the the great sunshine. With the bronze bar, I can have the natural glow of a tan without the damage from the sun. I read other people’s reviews and I am shocked at how people remarked about being naked. Obviously if you want an all over tan you have to be sprayed all over which requires one to go commando, get over it people. I think that they are very respectable here, they explain the process and make sure that you understand what to expect etc. I would highly recommend them. I have been a loyal customer for many years.

I first tried this place out after I purchased a 2-​for-​1 groupon. My first two experiences there were great — well as great as standing half-​naked in front of a near stranger can be… the color was great and the price was right. Last week I went back and paid full price (over $ 50 when all was said and done) for a tan before going back to my 5 year college reunion. Same experience but unfortunately my tan turned out awful… streaks on my legs and worst of all the bottom of my feet were BRIGHT ORANGE. I had several people at my reunion point it out to me. Very embarrassing. I have pictures I wanted to email them however their website has no contact info and every time I call I get the machine.

Solid four stars for this place. I called this morning, left a message and my message was promptly returned with an available opening. After work, I raced down and was greeted by the friendly attendant who showed me the spray room and gave me quick instructions.
Yes, there is nudity involved, but she made it as normal as it could possibly get with friendly conversation and efficient service. Of course, we’ll have to see how the tan turns out in 8 – 10 hours, but I feel good about the quality thus far. It’s not super cheap, but it’s not going to break the bank either. Fair pricing, I’d say.
My only reason for not giving it five stars is that the room itself is a little, well, sprayed over with sticky residue. But all in all, this was a great experience and I’d recommend it to anyone. WAYYYY better than the automated streak machines.
Oh, and from time I entered the shop to time I got home to write this = 45 minutes, including drive time. Not too shabby.

This place is awesome! The owner is really down to earth, personable and made me feel totally comfortable being completely naked while being airbrushed. The tan is very realistic and perfect for getting some color before an event and wearing clothing that exposes skin. It’s a wrinkle free way to get a realistic looking tan and mine usually lasts a solid 5 days. She does a great job getting the color to look even too.

If it weren’t for the imminent skin cancer and premature aging, I’d opt for regular tanning over spray tanning. But because tanning beds turn me into a bronzed raisin, I’m giving them up.
I liked the result of my airbrushing. It managed to smooth out the appearance of lumps and bumps, and even my face has a nice glow instead of its usual blotchy redness. I have to say, I feel pretty.
What I am not a fan of is the PITA-​factor. You must loofah beforehand, shower and remove all makeup, not get wet for 10 hours after application (so workout beforehand), leave without a bra on (yikes! Not an option!) wear dark loose clothes since the sticky color can stain, and the pigment can rub off on your sheets, so pajamas are also a must. And I’m not a fan of the smell, which lasts through at least one shower.
I’m okay with standing in front of a stranger half-​naked, especially when she works that way all day. It was professional and quick, and I didn’t really feel awkward. The bummer about the experience is the spray is cold and the air vent isn’t powerful enough to suck up the bronze mist that hangs around after the treatment. And it seemed a little odd to just stand in an empty room inside the equivalent of an open-​top camping tent.
If I didn’t have a coupon, I probably wouldn’t have done it, but I think at the discounted price it was worth trying. I haven’t tried other airbrushing places, but if anyone asked for a recommendation, I’d send them here.

I am a lady who will admit very willingly that I like to be tan. The tanner, the better.
However, as I get older, I know the more that I get a tan via the golden sun, and occasionally, a tanning bed, the more I will get wrinkles, and that’s not OK with me.
I was lucky enough to be a «test subject» for a girl getting trained here, and she did a good job. I felt a little crunchy at first getting almost naked in front of a stranger. I kept my chonies on, but got topless… oohhh la la! I was instructed to turn, stick my arms up, down, etc, and about ten minutes later I was done. I stayed there for a couple more minutes to «dry off», got dressed and braved the rain to catch the bus.
The place is pretty no frills, but I am ok with that. Just give me a tan. I don’t need bells and whistles!

i am originally from so cal, asian, tan quickly & hold my tan fairly well. but after being up in the pac NW for a few years now my skin has resorted to this ghastly pale color… completely foreign to me. i decided to try a spray tan because i wanted my old cali glow, but didn’t want to resort to a tanning bed.
the salon was a little hard to find because it’s a hole in the wall spot, but once you find it you realize the inside is just as small as the outside. the place itself is really bare bones & not welcoming at all.
i paid in cash to save the $ 5 bucks & was ordered to strip down & wear a paper thong. it was weird standing there pretty much in the buff assuming the airport security pat-​down position while this lady is inches from you misting you down with this cold spray. i had to force my mind to another place or i would have bursted out in nervous laugher. after she was done i had to stand like that for a few more minutes, thankfully in the privacy of my own stall, while the stuff dried. the tan looked okay in the stall, but once i was outside in natural light i looked like an oompa-​loopma :*(so sad. it took me days of using a scouring pad for a loofa to get the tan to eventually fade to a not so bright orange. definitely not for me! but at least now i know: D

I didn’t realize how good the bronze bar really was until I tried a different place yesterday (had a coupon). A bronze bar tan is not stinky or spotty or orange or too dark in spots or too light in other spots. They take the time and have the technique and tricks to make your tan perfect.
Now since I didn’t go to the bronze bar, I am stuck with spotty hands, orange feet, no color on my lower legs, and a really bad smell. Yuck. Wish I had gone to the Bronze Bar!

Somebody asked me the other day if I had a spray tan before and I gasped and thought, «why, yes, I have! and let me tell you about my experience»…I’ll share it with all of you, too.
From the outside the salon looks kind of nice. I step in, still kind of nice.
I am greeted by a woman who is very tan but not warm and fuzzy. She tells me that if I pay cash I can save 5 bucks, great.
Next, we turn the corner and it feels like I am in someone’s basement undergoing a remodel and being painted. There is brown paper spread all along the floors, dark blue drapes hang down to create different stalls and it is fuhreezing in there. I am told to put all my clothes on a chair and put on a paper thong. Yay!
Next the woman who was the front desk lady is now my sprayer. She has me in like 20 different positions and I tell you, I was afraid to make a mistake, she was tres militant.
Afterwards, as I am holding position with my hands against the wall and my feet spread along the brown paper I hear some spraying going on next to me on the other side of the curtain. It’s the front desk/​sprayer spraying her chest with her tank top down!!! She explains that she didn’t want to waste my leftover formula and that she has a party to attend that evening,
Big phat ew.
I left that place freezing, slightly tan, very sticky and feeling oddly violated.
I have had a spray tan only once before at Nordstrom’s and it was like night and day compared to my experience at the Bronze Bar.

I used to like this place, but it’s just not worth the $$ anymore. I thought about it — and it’s really nasty inside.
The gal I liked has left. Last time I was there in April… I waited veeeerrrrryyyyy long to get sprayed, which I think is just rude. They also have stopped returning calls when you leave a message (which is also very rude), and have ridiculously cut back hours.
Looks like I’m on a search for a better option…

I had a great experience at the Bronze Bar. I was getting married and needed something to add some contrast to my Big White Dress. I had made an appointment to come in on two consecutive days on their bridal package ($ 85 or so) — one for the base color and a touchup for anything that needed to be fixed or accentuated, etc. The first day I couldn’t find the place and was 20 minutes late for my after-​lunch appointment… but so was Deana, so it worked out.
The room is sparse, but she works with airbrushing chemicals, so its understandable. It was a little bit weird to stand there and get sprayed in your skivvies while someone’s getting all up in your business. No weirder than going to a doctor or getting a massage, though. I figure that’s what she’s there to do. Deana was very professional throughout the process.
I followed the aftercare instructions to a T and the tan didn’t start wearing off until a week into my honeymoon. I didn’t want to go too tan, and Deana got a gorgeous light, golden color that looked stunning in all of my pictures.

So this was my first time getting a spray tan and several people had mentioned to me that they had tried the Bronze Bar. I arrived and waited in their small waiting area with a good selection of trashy magazines for entertainment. Only one person worked there and had to answer the phone, spray people and check drying time on other people, so they were running about 20 minutes behind schedule. Once inside, I put all of my things into a garbage bag, no lockers or cabinets, but a garbage bag! Then I was told to strip down and put on a flimsy paper thong. You then stand naked in a army green painted room with a cement floor with pieces of brown paper on the floor, not unlike the room in a prison and she sprays you, while another woman is behind the brown curtain next to you drying from her spray. The place is awful and depressing. They warn you to not touch the walls because they are sticky from tanning solution. After standing in a variety of odd positions while completely naked in front of a stranger, you then stand on the next section of wall to dry with you arms on the wall and legs spread, like you are being frisked. After about 10 minutes you are free to leave. She mentioned that I would be much tanner by the following morning. The next day, I woke up not feeling all that tan actually and I noticed that one of my legs was at least two shades darker than the other leg! For $ 40, I was better off with the canned version of a spray tan from Bartell’s!

Deana is amazing. By far the best spray on tan that I have ever received. I used her before a photo shoot and the color was perfect. No streaking, no dark spots, just great color. She was very quick and efficient, friendly and courteous. Definitely the place to go when you need to glow!

My first attempt at a spray tan, but was so turned off by the sprayer (her ‘tan’ looked like she needed a good shower), the dirty ’boutique’, and messy bathroom, I opted out. My friend did get sprayed here and had a more positive experience.

I haven’t seen sun in months, I am going to a party where I will have to wear a strapless dress, and the Bronze Bar is my only hope.
I’m not one to go to tanning salons so the Bronze Bar seemed to be the perfect alternative. It’s an airbrush tanning salon.
Basically you stand in a spray booth (not unlike that in an auto-​body shop) wearing only a pair of disposable thong panties. The woman comes in and bosses you around to stick this leg out or reach your arm above your head and twist all the way around. She spray paints your entire body (again, not unlike in an auto-​body shop) and then leaves you alone to stand in a karate kid position and dry for a few minutes. When you stop feeling sticky you can put your arms down and put your clothes back on and leave with a non-​orangey, non-​skin cancer inducing (although I think I might have lung cancer after breathing in all those fumes) perfect golden tan.
It’s not something I would do all the time since that would be fairly cost prohibitive. However, if you are looking for a bit of color for something special I would definitely head to the Bronze Bar for a tan.
P. S. Be sure to bring an umbrella since the rain in Seattle will certainly try to wash away your new tan.
