History

Established in 1983.

In 1983, Nerio Alessandri, a young man of 22 with a passion for sports and industrial design, founded Technogym®.

His passion for design started at a young age. He attended a technical school of design and mechanical engineering, and started working for an industrial automation company.

His love for sports and physical activity took him to a fitness club. He realized the need for innovation within the fitness equipment world. His first piece of fitness equipment, a hack squat machine, was designed and assembled in his garage.

It was not long before a complete line of strength equipment, characterized by state of the art technology and innovative design, had been conceived and produced.

The garage soon became too small and gave way to the first production plant. The entrepreneurial venture was on its way to becoming a successful company. Since then, Technogym® has created a global network of subsidiaries and exclusive distributors.
