Great location, fabulous baristas. But it’s so darn cold at this location — leave your winter parka on!

For those of you who have been to a Starbucks before, it’s a Starbucks. This one is situated in my very busy office building, which means LONG lines at peak hours 7−9am. Baristas are very friendly and, surprisingly, so are the other customers waiting for their drink. For those 11(give or take) of you in the world who have never been to a Starbucks, it is a magical place where coffee flows like water, and they can never spell your name right. I highly recommend downloading the Starbucks app for your phone to avoid the lines and feed your clear caffeine addiction!

Starbucks is Starbucks is Starbucks — you get the same food and drinks at every one. What makes any individual one stand out is the baristas, and they are fantastic here. I usually come in during the morning rush, and even when the line is out the door, they are moving people through at a quick pace and I still get my coffee in the time it takes me to see what happened on Facebook the night before. They don’t make you feel rushed and are friendly without holding up the line. I am extremely sensitive to lactose and I have never had to worry about them messing up my order and giving me regular milk instead of soy, they follow drink instructions to a T and triple-check them as they go. My one complaint is about half the time they mess up my breakfast sandwich and give me a bagel or some other random pastry instead, since they don’t seem to have a very good way to distinguish which abbreviations go with which food, but even during the crazy times I can catch their attention and get a new one pretty quickly. There are plenty of tables around, too, if you’re not just grabbing a drink and dashing off to work. Most of them are available in the morning when I go in. Overall, definitely a great location if you’re in the area.

Can I figure out a way so that a chunk of my paycheck automatically just goes to this place every month? Cuz let’s be honest, that’s what always happens. I’m here at least about once a day. Mostly twice. And at my job, everyone hands out Starbucks gift cards to express a range of emotions and gratitude. It’s a Starbucks and as far as their offerings go, they have all the standard stuff you’ll want and need from one. My two complaints: Their espresso macchiatos are never made right but let’s be real, most places plop foam on top of shots of espresso causing separation between the coffee and the dairy too. I’ve just stopped ordering it. 2nd complaint: Is there a vent connected to a freezer or something? I feel like I need a parka if I want to hang out here beyond just waiting for my order. They can’t ever seem to get my name right. From Felicia to Felica to Felisia to Felis to Felisha. But the staff here are so amazing I can’t even complain about that. Also, it’s entertaining. I always wonder what name I will be christened with every morning… Even for as busy a place as they are, the line goes by fast. The baristas are friendly without chatting you up excessive amounts so as to hold up the line. Even when they are busy(line out the door kind of busy) to a point that stresses me out as someone just standing in line, they manage to keep monk-like composure and sweetness. When it’s slow(around lunch time), the staff is THEBEST. That’s actually my favorite time to come here.

It’s Starbucks. The coffee isn’t the best life changing experience but it is always consistant. My review is on the customer service. There was a homeless guy who apparently had been sitting there drinking coffee. He got up and stood in line for a refill. I ordered my coffee and while I was waiting, I looked to see how customer service would treat him. The lady(who I did not get her name) was so nice and sweet. No hint of rudeness or a turned up nose. Nothing. Just a smile and a refill of his coffee. You know small gestures can go so far. I am so pleased with how she treated him that I plan to send some type of acknowledgement to Starbucks about the great customer service at this location.

Wow, I’m surprised this Starbucks isn’t on Unilocal yet. It’s just over a year old and located inside the 12013rd Ave building, once know as the WAMU tower. It is a little hidden, but there are signs for it located by the entrance down to the University Street Tunnel Station. The shop is small and mostly served for the towers clients, but it’s got ample seating and the staff is warm and friendly. If you are feeling sick you simply have to ask for a wellness tea from them. It’s not an offical drink by starbucks but it does wonders for a cold!

This Starbucks still has the sparkle and appeal of a brand-new store. I love the historical photography on display. The baristas are friendly and welcoming, and always seem to know how to spell my name, which doesn’t happen very often! The drinks are spot-on every time. But the thing that earned five stars on my review is the customer service. This morning I left before picking up my toasted bagel, and by the time I realized it and returned to the store, it had been sitting sad, cold lonely, on the bar for a good 5 – 10 minutes. Instead of handing me the now not-so-toasty bagel, they insisted on making me a fresh, hot bagel at no extra charge. Kudos, Starbucks #15719!

This Starbucks is brand new, because apparently the four Starbucks less than one block away weren’t cutting it. I must admit that I do like this new Starbucks better than the surrounding ones. It’s a great space — very roomy and open and there are a lot of tables and seats here compared to the others nearby. They also offer all of their food options here, from pastries to sandwiches to their bistro boxes. The baristas are welcoming and provide quick and friendly service.
