Description

Specialties

We buy, sell, & trade vinyl records, DVDs, Blu-Rays, video games and systems, and audio cassettes.

The array is pretty crazy; you’ll find Madlib across from Mastodon LPs, Fleetwood Mac a row from Mac Demarco, NES and N64 carts next to their controllers and consoles. DVDs; OH MAN. Criterion, horror, sci-fi, Ro-Co’s, animé, foreign and soooo many more. Sick cassettes stacked near vinyl dollar bins under record genres spanning from soul to elecrtonica, from punk to country, this week’s new releases and dusty Blue Note jazz, 1st press classics to local, independent releases. It’s a little more organized than it sounds here though.

Spin Cycle carries new and used vinyl. We source new records from indie distributors as often as possible. This means your money and appreciation goes straight to the source whenever possible. I think we’re up to 20, like Merge, Fat Beats/Stones Throw, Light in the Attic, Sub Pop, Warp, Jackpot, Matador, XL, 4AD, PPU, Secretly Canadian, Tri Angle, and a bunch more.

Used stuff we buy from you. We pay in cash and even more in trade /store credit. In terms of buying, we try very hard to pay the most in town. We price all items individually and pay a flat percentage of what we will sell them for; the last thing we want is for you to come in and see your 1st press Joy Division on our wall for 1000% of what we paid. You’ll tell your friends and we’ll feel terrible. Nobody needs that.

Did I mention we host free in-store shows? We do.

So yeah, stop by

History

Established in 2011.

The owner’s collection got out of control so instead of renting a bigger apartment he rented a store front on beautiful, eclectic Broadway on Capitol Hill. His collecting habit hasn’t gotten… better.

Business Owner

I have glasses and usually a beard and I love stuff. I’m currently looking for Saturday morning cartoons taped directly from TV, with commercials if possible. Also the red and green bordered versions of Tribe Called Quest’s Midnight Marauders.
