CPAP, which stands for continuous positive airway pressure, has historically been one of the most common treatments for a condition like obstructive sleep apnea (OSA). For some patients, though, CPAP doesn’t effectively do what it was created to do. In fact, some patients may find that CPAP exacerbates certain symptoms while also leading to new ones they weren’t experiencing before treatment began.

Thankfully, CPAP isn’t the only treatment option for patients who struggle with OSA. With oral appliance therapy, our patients from Seattle and beyond have an alternative to overcoming obstruction and getting the full night of rest they deserve.

Oral appliance therapy uses a comfortable, custom-made mouthpiece designed to reposition the patient’s tongue and lower jaw, keeping airways clear. Not only will that help OSA patients sleep better, it will also treat snoring, which often goes hand-in-hand with sleep apnea. What’s more, there are many different kinds of mouthpieces to choose from. If one doesn’t work, we can recommend another until we find exactly the right one for you.

At our Seattle office, we use our experience in dental sleep medicine to offer our patients superb service, compassionate care, and quality appliances. We partner with your doctor to provide sleep apnea and snoring treatments, basing our care on your doctor’s diagnosis.

We offer relief for sufferers of OSA who live in the Northwest area, including Seattle, Tacoma, Everett, Redmond, Alaska and Idaho

History

Established in 1993.

At the Snoring & Sleep Apnea Center, our services are exclusive to dental sleep medicine. Dr. Robert Horchover has been treating sleep apnea disorders with oral appliances in the Northwest for more than 21 years. About 97% of our patients are referrals from medical doctors. Our patients are typically pre-diagnosed, usually after they’ve done an overnight sleep study and gotten medically diagnosed for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA)

We are pleased to announce that Dr. Katharine Christian has joined our practice! For a long time we have been looking for a qualified practitioner to share in the treatment of your Obstructive Sleep Apnea and Snoring. She shares our empathy and understanding for those patients who are concerned about their sleep apnea and how it affects their health. Dr. Christian appreciates and shares our understanding that many have had challenges with CPAP, or may feel CPAP is not appropriate for their lifestyle.
