Jill is THE BEST! Sugar is 100x better than wax — less pain, less skin irritation if you have sensitive skin, and doesn’t burn your skin since it’s done at room temperature. The studio is super clean and prices are on par with every other studio around but you can’t beat Jill! She’s genuine, friendly, and makes you feel like you’re laying in your own living room on the couch chatting with a friend (minus that whole hair removal piece). I would recommend her studio to anyone and do often. I’m in and out in about 20 minutes every 5 weeks. Five stars every visit!

Its a pretty penny too getting waxing services here, but if you go to a nail salon or a place where they use the hard wax youll understand why. For me the conventional bikini or brazilian was PAINFUL beyond measure, and the small area at a time method at Smooth is much more tolerable for my pain level. I usually have Jill and if im needing a brazilian urgently Ill book with anyone and all the girls there are really nice. Plus, its lovely driving spending an hour or two down in Madison Park. Highly recommend, its worth the money and the drive– just go here!!!

Pleased as Punch! Judy got a wax. My first time sugaring after waxing (and waning) for decades. Sugaring is less painful. The studio is clean organized and well stocked. The products are good. The ladies are skilled in the art of a clean shave. The prices are comparable to any salon in the country. I’m a fan and coming back for more.

First, sugaring is far better than waxing for a load of reasons, so the fact that it’s a sugaring studio is 5 stars for itself. The room is comfortable and the staff are nice. The appointment options are fantastic! I’m usually in and out pretty quickly. Theres a few times I had a couple spots that weren’t perfect but i’m too shy to say anything, though I feel they are nice enough that if you check it over and ask, they’d probably be happy to fix it. I’ve been attending for about 8 months or so now. My favorite service is the underarm! I’ll never shave my pits again!

Since moving to Seattle last July, I have been going to Smooth Sugaring Studio and LOVE IT. Yes, it hurts. Yes, it’s a pricey habit to maintain. And YES, it’s totally worth it. I always make my appointment with Jen because she works quickly, but her attention to detail is impressive. She is super friendly and always remembers (or makes notes) what we talked about last time, so I don’t have to describe my job or how my summer is going from scratch every time. I love Smooth Sugaring Studio!

Well, folks, thanks to the lot of you fearing the presence of hair like it’s AIDS, my junk is now looking as virginal as ever.
I’ve always protested waxing va-​jay-​jays, particularly mine, because the lengths I am willing to go to get laid is not very far. Certainly not to the extent in which I have to experience an awkward precursor to childbirth.
Nevertheless, days are getting shorter and the amount of personal time I can have is slowly declining, so I scheduled an appointment for punani maintenance. As the aesthetician talked to me through the process, she was quite friendly and pleasant for a full-​time sadist.
I opted for the Bruce Willis as opposed to what the pube crew call the «Landing Strip.» I never quite understood the landing strip. It’s the equivalent of carving out a sideburn but on your vagina. The sideways facsimile of a mustache on your pubic mound.
«Okay, fuck it, let’s do this,» bracing myself while having that sensation in my gut where I can’t differentiate whether it’s nervousness or if I’m about to fart.
She began to fervently rip out my pubes and I wailed the whole time. I can’t help it, vocalizing my pain is a knee-​jerk reaction. It was exactly as painful as I had thought it would be. I had no allergic reaction, everything was quick and abusive, and the studio was very clean.
After it was all said and done, I’ve decided that I hate you all for making this the new normal.

I have been coming here for two years now. Jill is absolutely wonderful at what she does, and somehow the sugaring doesn’t hurt nearly as bad as waxing.

I only really come here for an underarm sugar every 2 – 3 weeks, but they are truly the best. They are meticulous at making sure they do a great job. They are quick and efficient and always get me in and out in 15 minutes. I love their little space tucked away in madison park (2 min walk from me is an added plus). Their studio is bright, but relaxing.
Sugaring is definitely the way to go. It is much less painful then waxing and plucking And much much better than shaving.

I have been going to see Jill for years now, I think probably since 2008, I honestly can’t remember it’s been so long. She the best! I’ve had waxing (strips & hard) for years before I discovered sugaring and sugaring is definitely the best way to go. I even saw her through my pregnancy and she made me feel so comfortable. I don’t know how she does it, but she makes you feel completely comfortable though out the entire «procedure», you almost forget what’s going on.
Love that business is growing, which means I can see her for more years to come.

I’m as big a fan of this place as I can be getting hair ripped out of my nether-​regions. If you’ve got to do it, this is the place. Doesn’t hurt and they’re super nice about getting all up in your biznizz.

I was anxious to try sugaring after hearing mixed reviews… SO glad that I gave it a try!
Smooth was amazing. I called and left a message to schedule an appt and didn’t receive a call back so I sent an email. They responded right away and didn’t have any appts available, so they arranged to have an esthetician stay late to accommodate me after their usual closing time.
The day of, they emailed me and let me know that the 7:30 appt had cancelled, and I could come in earlier if I would like, but they would still be able to have the appt at 8pm if I needed to. Definitely nice to have such wonderful customer service!
My appt was with Thomasin — and she was amazing! She explained the difference between sugaring and waxing and let me know what to expect. She was very sweet and we chatted through the whole appt. The sugaring experience was much better than I expected! I usually leave a wax feeling tender and very red from the hot wax burning and ripping off my skin — the sugaring left me feeling like nothing even happened! She was very detailed and I appreciated the aftercare tips.
I am so happy that I found Smooth, sugaring, and Thomasin!

Oh I wish there were six stars, I really really do. I have been coming to Smooth for years and years… and now they have a Greenlake location. I love the job they do, they are comfortable to be around, and make it as fun as pulling hair out of… special areas can be. My only big wish is that they open another Smooth in West Seattle…

Finding a good womanscaper is hard, an excellent one nearly impossible. I went to see Jill today and omg, I am so happy I’ve already scheduled my next appointment.
Prices were reasonable — her attention to detail for my Brazilian was amazing — and the atmosphere at the Studio is very nice. The towels and pillows on the bed are clean and soft, the paint colors are soothing yet bright, and Jill’s the real star. She has a great bedside manner, and is patient with questions, and is a total foodie so the conversation made everything go faster.
The entry is a little awkward, with the reception desk after the treatment room, but if that’s my only negative… well, sheeeeiiiitttttt.
So happy I came — this is definitely where I will stay!

Much prefer sugaring to waxing and Jill is a pro. I am marking down one star because I feel the prices are a little to high.

I was first referred by a friend to go see Jill after a bad experience at another sugar studio in town. Jill was great, she took the time to share with me the best way to take care of my skin between appointments & made my experience as fast & painless as possible. I’ve been a super satisfied customer with all their services ever since & would highly recommend them to anyone looking to feel sweet & smooth!

I was not pleased with my experience at Smooth Sugaring Studio this Saturday.
Brooke was the technician who performed the service (Brazilian, upper lip), and that itself was fine (no glaring hygiene issues), but the details were lacking.
First, there was no offer of water, and the cups (Dixie size) on the water cooler were much too small. Really, if the new client survey is a full page, provide cups at least large enough to last half the questions.
My main issue, however, is with the description of the services on the website. A maintenance Brazilian, which I had booked with the receptionist, is not based on the reported time of having hair removed, but rather on the last time the hair was removed at that particular studio. The description on the website, as of 9÷29÷2012, reads only «removal of all hair within the bikini area within [time period] or less after original brazilian,» with no mention of the requirement that original treatment be performed at this studio.
If this had been explicitly stated on the website, or explained to me when I was making the appointment [see below — I could have been convinced that I was getting an excellent deal], I would have had the correct expectation at time of payment. But as always, difference in expectation and reality results in shock and unpleasant surprise.
The difference, monetarily, is about $ 3, as there was a 10% discount for first-​time clients, and 6 oz. of water, but the difference in my perception of the studio is such that I don’t think I will be returning.
Finally, a unrelated ort of personal experience: sugaring and waxing were equally (not) painful for me. Try sugaring, but don’t expect it to necessarily be better.

I’ve only been here once but am booking another appointment ASAP! I love that Jill explains everything that she’s doing and why, and tells you when to inhale and exhale to minimize the pain. Talking with her is very pleasant, as she seems genuinely interested in your life, and offers up her own stories too. Sure, it still hurts quite a bit, but there really isn’t a way to make ripping hair out of your body enjoyable.
The new location up in Wallingford is super cute, clean, and bright; you’ll get sent home with a sample of Whish Flawless Ingrown Hair Serum to keep everything in good shape!
I highly recommend Smooth. Really, the name says it all.

I tried a Brazilian wax once and it hurt so much, I almost cried. The lady wasn’t even able to finish.
That being said, while I can’t handle waxing, I can and LOVE sugaring. Is it weird that I almost look forward to my appointments now? Sugaring to me is superior in just about every way– it’s faster (I come in every 4 weeks and my appointments never last more than 12 – 15 minutes), WAY less painful (even for crybabies like me) and the results last longer. Every girl (and guy?) should try it!
I love Jill too, she is so sweet and friendly. Never makes me feel uncomfortable or awkward. She is really good at what she does and genuinely cares. TMI alert: When I had an issue with ingrowns, she went above and beyond to help me correct this.
Although I HATE to do it, I’m rating Smooth a ⁴⁄₅ because sometimes after a session, I notice areas that seem to have been… errr, missed, meaning I have to fix it myself at home. Kinda wish I didn’t have to but other than that, everything is perfect here.

Before finding her I had been around the waxing block (as a result too many people have seen alllll of my secrets.).
Personality-​wise Jill has it all: good recommendations on music and food, charming self deprecating humor, and a not-​over-​the-​top bubbliness that I find quite endearing. A++ for attitude! Unlike another reviewer (an anomalous review for sure) I have never felt humiliated by her in any way. She is body positive and has never mentioned anything remotely uncomfortable to me.
As for sugaring: I find it less painful than regular waxing (i have sensitive, paper-​thin skin and am prone to ingrown hair) and my skin recovers a lot more quickly when I sugar vs. wax. I still hurts though, so pop an Advil before you go to take the edge off. I get a LOT less ingrown hairs since I switched to sugaring, which makes me look better and is a way more comfortable.
Parking is free and readily available (At least after 3pm, I’ve never been before that).
The studio is cute, unique, and clean. Jill is my favorite! Overall I am always happy with smooth sugaring studio!
