I stayed here shortly after I turned 21. It was a present for my 21^st birthday. My boyfriend at the time and I went up there to see a wrestling show. I had called and asked if there was a fee for parking before I booked the hotel. Their website was down, so I thought that I would call and check. I was told by the clerk that since there was not an influx of customers, that there would not be a fee. So I booked the hotel, since it was fairly cheap to begin with.
We arrived in seattle and had nor problem finding where the hotel was. We pulled up, checked in, and were informed that there was a 15 dollar a night fee for parking. Which is not that much, but being as we were on a budget at the time, we had literally planned every penny. Nothing we could do at that point, so we went ahead and agreed to it.
We got to our room, which was at the end of a poorly painted hallway with water dripping, and went inside. We tried to turn on the lights. None of the lights worked except the one in the bathroom. I turned on that light and discovered mold in the ceilling and bathtub and sink. Two of the lamps had no lightbulb, and one of those lamps was damaged. There were wires sticking out of the cord. The television was also not plugged in.
It took an hour to be brought a lightbulb, and they didnt even offer to put it in, they just handed it to us and walked away.
Location is perfect. And this stay was 4 years ago. I hope that they have changed their attitude towards hotel cleanliness. They did agree to waive our parking fee after the terrible time we had checking in. We also paid for Wi-Fi that didn’t work!
I may attempt to stay here again next time im in Seattle for the wonderful location alone. You can walk anywhere… quite easily.

I don’t know about you, but I really like my stay at the Sixth Avenue Inn when I was in Seattle. It was a great location in the city and it was perfect for walking distance travels.
At first the building itself looks outdated and just really out of place in the middle of a bunch of skyscrapers. Checking in was quick, simple, and the service was nice. As for the room… I was really shocked on how nice the room looked. Don’t let the word «inn» perceive you because this was nice and cozy. The beds were comfy and the room itself was very clean. I would definitely come back here. Nice room, great location, and good price.

For a perfectly situated & affordable place to stay downtown, Sixth Avenue Inn can’t be beat!
Rooms were quiet & this was even w/a sold out status. Beds are comfy but *super* small — yes, we got 2 double beds but in this case, they mean double bed. These days, most hotels usually swap out 2 queen beds & just call them doubles but boy oh boy, not here… so be prepared to get up close & cozy
Bathroom products rock! They are environmentally friendly & will leave your hair smooth, soft & very shiny & their peppermint lotion is a nice way to wake up your morning self! Also loved the dispensers theory so no little bottles to have to deal with
Laundry facilities on site & they even have rolls of quarters at the front desk
Will stow your bags for FREE

Would seek out this hotel for my next Seattle visit! You should too!

Booked and paid 3 months in advance for 3 people/2 queen room and were given a 1 queen room. When enquiring with staff was told rudely ‘We are not a hostel’ and that they had no 2 queen rooms left. Would think 3 months notice would be enough. Wifi was terrible and the bed wasn’t great. Wouldn’t go here again. Only plus is that the rooms were clean.

It’s cheap and the location is central.
First night the neighbors were smoking pot and stunk up the bathroom, then in the morning was woken at 6am with construction going on across the street — moved room to east side where it’s a bit better but overlooks the strip club.
Rooms are quite old and falling apart, heating did not work and the ventilation is terrible — woke up every morning itching and with a headache.
If your on a tight budget and need a central location, then this hotel works — but if your on a tight budget, why not stay at motel 6?

We were in town for a wedding and there were 2 options:
1.) The Pan Pacific Hotel at weeeell over $ 200
2.) The 6^th Ave. Inn at $ 160
Neither are cheap by any means, at least by my standards. This hotel, considering the amenities and such, wasn’t worth $ 160.
However, it was a clear choice that 6^th Ave Inn will do just fine for the budget conscious traveler.
The room was clean and in a great location. We walked all over the city, including just about 5 – 7 minutes to Pike Place Market. Easy peasy. The area seemed just as safe as any other too. View of the Space Needle right out the front, which is a perk!
The staff was courteous, although a bit uneducated about how the bus system works. We didn’t end up getting our bus and had to pay more for a cab. Not sure if that’s more on the staff or crappy bus system.
The worst part was the smell. It wasn’t overpowering and didn’t keep me awake or anything, but there was just something a lil funky. The hotel wasn’t new by any standards, but I didn’t think it seemed dilapidated or anything. Just a bit dated.
If I were going back to Seattle I’d do another search to check out more options, but would probably end up settling for good olé 6^th Ave Inn because of the price and location combo.

On the website, this spot looks like a pretty nice hotel. Not the case. More like a really nice motel. Nevertheless, one of the cheapest rooms downtown, and it’s clean, I felt comfortable showering in bare feet, and there’s a diner downstairs.
Biggest downside: still not cheap, and all the hallways smell like body odor. Seriously. This was observed separately by multiple people.

My friends found this place for us to all stay in on our trip, and it was definitely nicer than I expected for the price we paid :)
Nice building, staff, and menu, even though we didn’t end up eating in it.
So close to everything, easy to stumble back to, and is easy to spot at night, so you won’t get lost on said stumble.
Plus they have free cookies at the front desk! Mm.

. — weird. This is a hotel, sure it’s only five floors, but it ain’t no hostel. It’s right downtown, so the location is pretty good, cuz most hotels downtown are mucho expensive. Its only about $ 85/night for a two twin bed non-smoking room, plus $ 15 for a parking spot. So it was just over $ 105 or so for one night. It’s not super deluxe, but it’s super good value for what you pay. They have shampoo and conditioner and whatnot in the rooms, but they are clever and attached them to the wall as pumps, so you can’t go and fill your suitcase up with small travel bottles. I always bring my own shampoo anyways — cuz sometimes the stuff you get in hotels is crap. I never actually used theirs, I was just surprised to see the pumps mounted on the wall, as I’ve never seen that in a hotel before.
Our check in went super smooth and the staff were all super friendly and efficient when we dealt with them. Now keep in mind that this hotel probably gets booked a lot by young people (like us) who are out of town and travelling. That being said, we went out to a bar on Friday night and came home pretty intoxicated and pretty loud and decided to take the party back to our room (our friends were staying on the second floor in a different room). So we all piled into our room on the fourth floor. After a while we heard a knock on the door, and we were asked to keep it down by the staff at the hotel. We ended up parting ways with our friends and sending them staggering back to the second floor.
The next night we were out and about again, and got back at 4am or so again, but we were all pretty exhausted so we decided we’d just retire to our rooms. When we got back to the hotel there was a guy passed out on the couch (sitting upright even!) in the lobby. We thought about taking pictures with him, but we were *that* pooped. When we got up to our room, I could hear the people in the room next to us having a party still. Luckily it was late enough and we were drunk enough that we knew we could sleep through whatever was left of the party. I only awoke once in the wee hours of the morning to the people next door, but this time it was because I could hear someone coughing… and then puking. Oooh! Someone was defeated by the alcohol. I hoped for their own benefit they were staying another night, as checkout is at 11am, and lord knows it must have been 7am or so when I woke up to that!
Overall, I would stay here again. It was a nice place to crash, wifi was included and it actually worked from the fourth floor and there’s a gentlemen’s club right across the street! Bonus!

If you complain about rates than don’t go here!
Any hotel near the water is going to cost a little more unless you stay in the sh*thole district.
This palce was great. Parking was decent. Room was clean, cozy and the bed– WOW the bed was probably one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept on in a hotel. I did not want to get up in the AM. Close to all the downtown BS. 10 min walk to the water, space needle, ect. Even let us check in early. They do charge $ 15 for parking which is lame and the gym can’t even be called a gym. It’s a stair stepper and a treadmill in a room.
Would recommend.

I would stay here again.
I came here recently with my boyfriend on a last minute trip and luckily we were able to find such a great deal for a hotel in downtown.
When we first got here we noticed the parking was really first come, first serve. If you left and lost your space. your pretty much out of luck and have to park in the public parking space.
The first room we got didn’t work because of the key not working. so we had to go up the front and they told us the room was «locked» for some reason so they sent us to another room upstairs.
The beds were a little smaller then we thought. we couldn’t share a bed so we had to get separate beds. I believe the beds were double so that didnt’ leave much room to move around. (So, I do suggest making sure you get big enough beds especially if you’re going with tall people)
The Inn itself was pretty cool, there was a McDonalds across the street and it’s literally in the middle of downtown so everything is around you.
if you’re looking for a place to stay in downtown that is the center of everything but dont have the money to pay for 5 star service. come here!

So this place is not exactly like the many high rise hotels around downtown Seattle, but it gets 5 stars in my book. The room I stayed in was very clean; a tad old but I could tell that the staff really do their job in updating the place. The lobby staff are super friendly and helpful and it’s located within walking distance from Pacific Place. I would also like to add that this hotel has free wi-fi and has one of the cheapest overnight parking!
I generally have a hard time sleeping at hotels regardless of star rating, but I had some of the most restful sleep while staying at 6^th Ave. Inn. Best of all, the place was cheap! I recommend it.

I would definitely stay here again — it was within walking distance of our convention and had all the amenities a group of nerds needs: free wifi internet and a mini-fridge. We ended up packing five people total into a room with double beds… they wouldn’t bring up an extra cot because it was a «fire hazard» so my DH slept on the floor. Oh well.
For a group of people with lots of electronic gadgets — they didn’t have enough plugs for charging cords.
I kinda dug the dispensers for the shampoo, conditioner and soap. Those little plastic bottles are so wasteful (and way too tempting to steal).
The view from our window left something to be desired — it was of the strip club across the street (Lil’ Darlings?) and while we got plenty of laughs out of their theme nights — the flashing neon lights got a little tired by the end of the trip.
ALSO — FLANKETS! Fake blankets. We thought we had a folded down comforter but it was just a single strip of fabric at the end of the bed. WHAT?! We ordered up some extra sheets to make up for it.
Liked having the heater/air conditioner unit built into the room — we could adjust the temp very easily.
Oh — and the business office with computer and printer was a life saver. Didn’t even realize they had this feature until we got there and I needed to print our registrations.

We stayed here one night at the end of January on a Saturday night. I chose this hotel because it was relatively cheap ($ 85/night) and the location seems great for where we needed to be. Note that this is a budget hotel so everything is very basic.
Pros: The location is fairly central so we were able to walk everywhere. The employees were all friendly and extremely helpful. Wi-fi is offered free of charge in-room; the room comes with a fridge and microwave; and parking is cheap for Seattle standards at $ 15/day.
Cons: Paper thin walls, so thin, we were kept awake by our neighbours talking (not yelling, but talking) ’til the wee hours of the morning (5AM). The water pressure in the shower is not the greatest. I think the windows were NOT double glazed, so there was not much insulation from the noise outside, but this did not really bother us as we are used to city noise (in fact, it seemed quieter than what we are used to living in downtown Vancouver).
Would I stay here again? Probably not, especially if I can get a 4* hotel on Priceline for approximately the same price. I actually feel terrible for saying this because the staff were nothing but helpful, friendly, and amazing. Too bad about the paper-thin walls and lack of water pressure — these are possible deal breakers for me because I need my sleep and hot steamy showers.

For the price I am paying, the sixth avenue inn gets 5 stars! Amazing amazing deal. The staff are all friendly and great, offering help with directions, with midnight requests for blankets, and offering baggage hold even after check out.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms all have safe for valuables (amazing for a budget hotel), coffee maker. The bathrooms are disappointing – small and old, but the hot water works great and guests get full towel sets.
Once again, I cannot emphasize more what a great deal this hotel was. They also offer free wi-fi (which even some well known and respected 5-stars hotels don’t). What’s more the sixth avenue inn has two computers available for guest usage for free (this is not a practice that even better hotels would offer. Classier hotels usually have computer and print stations that charge guests based on usage per minute and printing by per page).
Sixth avenue inn also gave us a copy of the Seattle news every morning. (that in itself is amazing – only some excellent hotels do that for guests).
Over all, despite the run-down exterior, sixth avenue inn is a gem for any budget traveler who wants a clean and comfortable and great service.

Great priced hotel, nothing fancy, but great central location to anything you might want to do in Seattle.
Fridge, micro, coffee maker, iron, cable TV, comfy bedding, and the cleanest stairwell in the city!
Restaurant on the premises is very good ;)
Love the travel lodge style parking, some even covered! Like not having to bother with Valet parking your car off site, and can get access to my car whenever I need to.

This place is exactly what you pay for. I stayed here one night after being out on the town and didn’t feel it was smart to drive home and my other usual spots were already booked up. I remember paying about $ 70 for the room after tax and sleeping on a bed that was so hard I seriously considered sleeping in the bathtub…
I’d give this place a single star, but they get a bonus star for keeping me off the road that night…

Well, I’ve stayed in skeezier motels.
The rate is cheap, especially considering its amazing downtown location. Seriously, the location is absolutely perfect walking/biking/busing distance from absolutely EVERYTHING. Don’t bring your car, don’t pay the absurd parking fees.
Unfortunately, the combination of cheap room and awesome locale results in a less than glamorous abode. I, personally, didn’t really care, considering that I was in Seattle and in love. However, if you’re looking for luxury, look elsewhere (be prepared to spend a little more).
The one thing that tempted me to give this place only one star was a serious disrespect. I placed a do-not-disturb sign on the door when I went out for some lunch with my lover. When we returned, the room had been cleaned! Talk about invasion of privacy!

The Sixth Avenue Inn is well located on the edge of downtown Seattle, but that’s about the only thing this joint has going for it. The lobby area is nicely refurbished (modern) but the rooms are vintage 1980 s schlock. Not that 1980s schlock is in itself bad, but for $ 120 a night I would expect something a bit more posh than stained carpet, sad old linens, and lamps bearing the stain of something that looks like bodily fluids. (See picture.) On the upside, you can tell the owners made some attempt to update the property as the bed and the desks have been replaced sometime in the last decade and the towels are nice and fluffy. On the downside, there are big gaping holes in the wallpaper where headboards used to be, and nobody has bothered to fix them. Classy.
Oh, I almost forgot to mention the best part. The Hotel is across the street from a place called Little Darlings, which is a porn boutique/strip joint. Now nothing says prime location like proximity to porno joints — but the thing that makes this hotel especially great is that the electronic billboard on the porn shop flashes neon colors across the room, illuminating everything in a succession of blue, then green, then pink. A quick glance out the window reveals that Tuesday is amateur day! Even classier.
A few more things: Bonus points for providing a real paper (the Seattle Times) for free on Sunday. Lost points since they claim to have free wireless internet, but we can’t get a signal from our room. Also, parking is $ 15.
Your money will be better spent elsewhere.
