I’m a huge fan for this place! Very simple reasons: 1. good tasty food without a long wait 2. Tofu house is FORSURE good with the tofu soup! Always bring out bubbling(super hot) hot soup! 3. Purple rice which is healthier(I guess not sure) and tasty. Not all Korean restaurants do that. 4. Reasonable price specially lunch time! LOVE their tofu soup and side dishes! 100% Recommended!

I love this little hidden gem in Chinatown. The food are good given the price is so fair. The only challenge is the parking here. The marinated potato is our favorite, the spicy tofu soup, the seafood pancake are comparable with those best ones in Federal but you don’t have to travel so far. This is simply the best in the Seattle area and a must try!

Oh wow. I haven’t been to korean BBQ in a while. But this place has made me fall in love with it all over again. Their combo is expensive. But its done very well. And the soup is good cause you put the egg in. Not them. I will definitely try the bibimbop next time. More affordable!

Tried this place just because of its location in International District. I got the tofu soup and short ribs for lunch. I don’t if that just me feeling that the portions are a bit small. I understand try that Korean side dishes are seasonal, however, there were only 2 at sides for our meals, and we didn’ get refill at all. For service, there were 2 servers and only 2 tables but we didn’t get checkup at all except for the only time she came for dropping off the check. they even forgot our order and messed it up. really not worth a try

I was craving tofu soup and unwilling to make the drive down to kent or fed way for my favorite spots so i decided to go 10 min down the road and finally try this place out. I ordered to go as it was late and chilly and I had to go to work the next day. I give them an A for effort, they gave me a sampling of banchan. The only ones i like were the bean sprouts and soy sauce potato. The kimchee was to fermented and fishy tasting. They did give me a small fried fish which I gave to my boyfriend and he said it was good. The tofu soup itself had nothing wrong with it, however it lacked flavor. Maybe i should have gotten 3 stars? I also really loved the purple rice they gave me with the soup! I may be back again to try the tofu soup with 3 stars however i am worried avout dining in and doing so as many have said the soup is not served boiling hot. When i brought the soup home i nuked the hell out of it lol so it was piping hot. I am willing to give it another go and hope it tastes better!

Everything about this place is just meh. The food is meh, the service is meh, the environment is meh. Here’s why: — Tofu soup not spicy and not hot. it should come out boiling hot — Seafood pancake was too thick and a little soggy. — Fried chicken wasn’t that great either — Waiter didn’t provide us enough water or utensils. We waited for a long time after we asked for more. — Bus boy wasn’t very considerate. He just blocks the path with the cart while we were trying to exit the restaurant. I knew it was bad when my Korean friend said, «Guys, this is not Korean food»

My boyfriend ordered«beef noodle soup» to-go twice in one week. We couldn’t get enough of this place so when we found ourselves in c-town the following week you know we had to stop by once again to get our grub on. Kind of wished I hadn’t because the moment I sat down I was greeted by a lovely flying cockroach on my sweater. Yes flying. My appetite significantly decreased. It’s really too bad because their food is so good! I’m still unsure on whether I want come back again or not. I mean… it could’ve latched on to me when I was outside and perhaps I’m the one who brought that lil bugger in. Ugh…

This was a visit of disappointing conditions. I came on a kimchi craving, I was greeted by non-fermented spiced cabbage. Was here with a group, and none of us felt that positively about the food or the service… I don’t think I’ve ever left so much food uneaten on a table. Hot pot not hot enough to cook egg… Salmonella soup is more like it. The wallpaper behind the register is nice. And we could watch football.

Chilly Seattle nights certainly call for steamy bowls of tofu soup. I think I was particularly taken by this place because it reminded me of the homey Korean restaurants back home. The prices for tofu soup are slightly higher than other places I’ve been to($ 10 compared to $ 8), but they give you a nice selection of small plates and a huge bowl of red bean rice with whatever you order. So yummy!

I helped chaperone 26 kids from Hawaii on a weeklong church service mission trip, and this was an overall great Korean BBQ place as a general consensus. Reasonable-to-very good $ and large portions enough to satisfy even me! Food pretty authentic with terrific complimentary kim chee. My 16 y/o daughter especially enjoyed the K-Pop music videos on the large screen on the wall. We had a large variety of dishes, all good. A couple of notables: the fried rice looks a bit common, but the flavor is tremendous! Same with the ramen — it’s actually the instant ramen noodle variety, but the broth is out of this world!(I wish I could somehow reproduce the broth and have it with my instant noodles at home everyday!) and for about $ 5, it’s the perfect midday/late nite snack. As for the flies, ignore them. They basically ignore you.

Ever since the transition of new owners/chefs, the food has gone terribly downhill. Although everyone is sweet and welcoming, the food is awfully bland. The banchans have been bland; pickled or flavored beansprouts are usuallly tasty. This time, it’s bland and just tasted boiled. The korean hotsauce was saucy, but had no salt. The 14.95 for kalbi was disappointing. They cut off the bones(which are the best parts) and give it to you boneless so it tastes more overcooked and dry actually. Even the marinade is surprisingly bland now. Not that rich and savory teriyaki tasting blend. Their bibimbap looks very boring now and the veggies are simply blanched with no real flavor. Their beef for the bibimbap looks overcooked and dry. Overall, they’re super friendly but I dont know what happened to the previous owners and chefs. They gave u bigger portions and food with more flavors and more salt. Now, the food is the same price but lacking in flavor and authenticity in my opinion. This is super disappointing now. :(

I like this place much better than Tofully, the other Korean joint in the ID that is only a block away from here. The prices of items in the two restaurants are mostly comparable to each other, with some items being a dollar or two cheaper at STH. The servers at STH are a lot more cheerful and attentive, though, and they don’t skimp on their soon dubus as much as Tofully does. Yeah, their soon dubus could always use more meat just like every other soon dubu I’ve tried elsewhere, but they do give you lots of good chunks of tofu, whereas Tofully just gives you broth for the most part. STH’s soon dubu also has a more full-bodied broth with a heavier garlic flavor, too. That’s how I like it. Banchan here is average, but they are on top of watching out for your refill needs. The other day, though, my boyfriend had their bibimbap, and he didn’t get much beef at all. It was literally morsels of ground beef that were so tiny, it was hard to pick them out of the rice. Ambience-wise, there’s not much to be said — the walls are covered with inexpensive artwork, and Korean pop music in the background, occasionally accompanied by the humming of a jolly waitress. :) Overall, this is a place I will continue to patronize.

I can’t claim to be any sort of expert on Korean food, but I can say that everything I tried here was delicious. The seafood pancake was huge and full of shrimp, squid, green onions, and other vegetables. The spicy squid is definitely a must-try. The side dishes are great, too. No frills, good food!

My experience here was pretty good. Service was surprisingly good. The waitress was not fluent in English(and not Korean either — she was Chinese) but she was nice and attentive. As one of the Unilocal reviewers mentioned, it is not very typical for Korean restaurants to have Chinese waitress serving you. I have seen American(as in White), Korean-American, or just straight-up Korean servers, but never a Chinese server. This did not bother me at all, but it certainly gave a different feel to the restaurant. I think it fit the location(given it’s smack in the middle of Chinatown). In terms of food, it was good. Pretty standard. No off flavors but with MSG or some kind of chemical lol. I ordered #19 which is their pork Tofu soup with Pork bulgogi. Both the soup and bulgogi come in slighly smaller portion than if you had ordered them separately(but the combo is about… 10+ dollars cheaper so definitely a good deal). I usually like my pork bulgogi cooked a bit more(so it’s slightly charred) but in terms of the marinade and overall taste, it was good. As mentioned above, the soup tasted great with that standard MSG-y flavors(I am not accusing this restaurant of using MSG — I am just noting that it’s got that same taste). Typically, most tofu soup restaurants ask level of spiciness(mild, medium, hot). My server didn’t ask me this and probably assumed I like my soup pretty spicy. It was nice and spicy for sure, but I would have preferred a bit less heat. They accept Visa and Mastercard.

I always rate a place in regards to taste/price/value/proximity to other like restaurants. Being one of the only Korean Joints in the ID, i’m giving this an extra star. The restaurant isn’t much to look at inside, but that really doesn’t matter. I love Korean food and I’m so happy this place is down the street from my work place. We ordered about 6 dishes for 2 people and it was great. Parking is always difficult down here but I think it’s worth driving in circles till you find a spot.

I had the kimchi jjigae and is was OK. Not great, i have had better… Super stove hot which is good. It had lots of beef and tofu, but it seemed to be missing something. Almost like the kimchi was too«new». It was missing that, «i’ve been in a jar for 3 months fermenting» flavor. The banchan was good, fresh and more than enough for my meal. The boricha was hot and good. The server was great, and friendly. I’ll try again

First off, RIP to Green Village as that place had the best fried rice in Chinatown hands down! With this new Seoul Tofu House, the food/menu is very similar to the Tofu House in the UDistrict. From the couple of times I’ve been here, I usually either get the stone pot Bibimbap or the seafood jiggae, which both are good. Also, you get the usual banchan, which includes some kimchi, bean sprouts, fish cakes, and some other greens. Though the price and food quality is similar to other Korean joints that serve the same exact thing, this place had a different feel and one day I realized why: the people that work there are NOT Korean. In fact, they do not speak Korean but rather Cantonese! I dunno — the Korean ajyuma is someone that really makes a Korean restaurant feel authentic, or maybe that’s just me. Who knows.

I have been here numerous times and it has never disappointed. Don’t let the chinese waitresses throw you off. It is authentic korean food! The spicy squid is a must here! So much flavor! Best I’ve had in a while. Nice big portion and they do not skimp on the squid! Another awesome dish was the spicy beef soup. Intense flavor and very generous portion. Definitely stop by here when you crave korean. It will not disappoint.

Great place for dinner. If you’re hungry, you can get a huge clay pot of deliciousness. They’ve got kimchee, meats, vegetables, anything a growing boy could want. Hilarious itemized and pictured menu for you to choose with a large number on each item. Food comes out quickly, and extra«appetizers»(kimchee) are brought out regularly. We were in a group of seven, and they were able to accommodate us quite easily. Another group came in after us of thirteen or so and they were also accommodated! I guess it wasn’t that busy, but still. Neat place and the cute little lady taking our orders was so little and cute. Good place for hot pot. Or kimchee.
