Customer service is my number one focus and concern. I have over 15 years of gardening experience. I pride myself on learning the details of the products on the market and in turn, the details it takes to have a successful garden for you, the customer. I love the city of Seattle and feel lucky to be here working with such great people. I have studied under some of the biggest names in the industry and in some of the most successful hydroponic /​organic gardening stores in the country. It’s now been over two years and Seattle’s hydro spot has done nothing but get better. Better prices, better selection, better inventory, better products. Staff is still far and away some of the most knowledgeable, no nonsense group and is genuinely there to get you what you need, not sell a particular item or dollar amount. Infinite gratitude

My first trip to this place was uneventful and I just got some growstone for my first hydro setup. The guy that helped me was knowledgable and helpful. My second trip here was amazing. Dave was up front and greeted me as I walked in the door. He was happy and friendly and offered to help me find anything. I asked to see the example grow setups they had there and he spent the time taking me to each one explaining the setups and giving me detailed specs on each one and answered all my questions. I ended up wanting to learn more about nutrients for my veggie setup and he was quick to direct me to brand and nutrient schedule. I couldn’t ask for anything more here they put the customer first and thats why this place is the best. Great job guys!

Im done with this store the employees dont know there products, there always out of stock on important items and you cant make a big order unless the owner is there, someone named Dave who seems to be always be out town when I come in. And the employees always seem to be high, and I know it is legal but come on can’t what till
after work. And not to be mean but I have 20 years growing and to go into Seattle Hydro Spot and the employee’s don’t have a clue on the product’s there selling is scary. I have been going to Seattle Hydro Spot for about 7 months now and when you
see a employee giving wrong instructions of use of fertilizer’s and pesticides. People using fertilizer wrong can screw up or kill your crop, using pesticide wron will also screw up or kill your crop and can make you sick or even kill you. Yes people even some organic fertilizer can kill you. proper clothing, gloves, masks and depending on what you are using. People skip this store go to the Indoor Sun Shoppe, Aqua Serene,
Sodo Hydro is a great store, and if you are down for a drive north Ecco Grow in shorline is one of the best store around the Ladies up there know there business.

Hydroponic vegetable gardening has become a hobby of mine over the last few years. Since Seattle’s Hydro Spot opened in the last year or so, I’ve decided that this is my go to. Dave, the owner, is very helpful and accessible and having an expert’s ear when things go awry is priceless. It’s a store with a community, barber shop feel and there really is no other store like it in the area.

Tucked in the «industrial» district of Ballard, Seattle’s Hydro Spot is a nice little gem stocked full of all your indoor gardening needs.
I ended up popping in here because I was planning on building a small, hydroponic herb garden for my mom as a Christmas present. I am totally a hydroponic newbie, and wanted to see what was going on and how I could jump on the bandwagon.
The guy helping my dad and I out was very helpful, thorough, and informative. He went out of his way with customer service, and we were happy for all the details! While I didn’t end up buying a lot of stuff yet, I had a great learning experience and it’s nice because they have some brochures for clueless people like me :)
Next time I’m more prepared, I will definitely come here for my hydroponic equipment!

Dave is the most knowledgable hydroponic expert I have ever had the pleasure of working with. His product knowledge is vast, and his botany skills, and recommendations are of the greatest professional quality. If your looking for a reputable name in the industry, Seattles Hydro Spot is the only name so far as my partners, and I are concerned. If he for some reason doesn’t have a specific product, he orders it immediately for you. Customer satisfaction is a top priority when it comes to Dave, his employees, and Seattles Hydro Spot. He has the most competitive prices in town, and is constantly having new sales and promotions. It seems one can not visit the store without finding a new specialty item, or a wonderful product for a hot deal! Dave, you are truly a blessing to have in the 206 area code. Went to a few different Hydro places today to ask about getting any aquaponics information… Dave was really great! Super genuine and friendly, extremely informative, gave us a printed list of the supplies we need plus an estimate of the costs. He showed us the growing room to give us an awesome example of the products they sold and what our system would look like. Definitely coming back for supplies and more information!

I’ve been gardening for a few years now and have been to all the Gardening Stores in the Seattle Area. This by far is the friendliest one out there. Nice big layout, and a great location. Dave and Christy (sp) are the owners and they are the nicest people in the world. Real knowledegable, passionate and genuine. What sets them apart is probably their friendliness; alot of stores around here are not that knowledgeable or they don’t seem to care enough to direct you to the right direction. Not only that but SHS always has NEW gear. They do their homework going to conventions multiple times a year, always following up on the newest or just the best gear out there. If they don’t have it, they will have it ordered and/​or track it down for you. You can even order via their website. An important thing is that I know for a fact that they don’t sell the cheap stuff, just the stuff they truly believe is «quality.» I’ve gotten ballasts with 5 year warranties… unheard of! They’re just dependable. I think if you try these guys out you’ll know what I’m talking about.

I am new to growing hydroponics. I came in here and got great service. The owner showed me around his new place. He didn’t up sell me on anything I didn’t need. I can tell he is passionate about his business. I was worried I would go into a grow store and be be talked down to like a newbie idiot. This was the not case. Great service, selection, and prices on all the brands I was thinking about buying online.
