I really enjoy this library. It is a true family friendly book haven.
The childerns section has many board books and table top sensory games for toddlers as well as a lot of older children novels!
The non-​fiction section is well stocked and covers a HUGE range of topics.
Seating at this location is phenomenal. Childrens section has childern sized table and chairs, adult and young adult sections have quiet tables for headphones or silent reading AND some couches for snuggled reading and magazine browsing!
The rooms available for rent/​reservation are amazing. They are up on the second floor and away from anywhere near the quiet zones.
I love this branch.
It is always beautifully kept and has SO many flyers for people from all walks of life to get help/​help others. Amazing.

The only reason I use this library is because I don’t have internet where I’m living. The place might as well be an off leash dog park and day care for the amount of dogs and screaming children that are allowed here. Also, the librarians could give a rat’s a** if patrons are talking loudly (they do it among themselves) or if people are eating and drinking (and doing it rather loudly). I’m not that old but I can remember back in the day when people knew what «library voices» meant.

I think the nicest librarians in the history of ever are employed here.
When I first moved to West Seattle, I had to wait 3 weeks for Evil Comcast to hook up my internet, and I was unemployed and job hunting (read: needed to be online every day, for hours). Southwest Branch let me hang out, using their free internet, pretty much all day long.
I’ve earned late fees, and had to use their printer, they’ve always been super kind and instructive about how to do both. They get my holds in pretty quickly, always have positive attitudes, and I’ve seen them be 100% professional in the face of a screaming, obscenity-​using man.
Also, it bears mentioning that their selection is excellent, they’re a nice size, and their kids camp/​classes sound so much fun (circus classes! I wish I was 10 years old again).

This library is small but it has everything you need. The staff is very helpful and friendly. If you need to use a computer, there’s usually at least one available. The parking lot is small but I have always been lucky in finding a spot.

Not bad for a small public library, it’s great that Seattle has just a huge system. So far, they’ve either had or been able to get every book I’ve wanted.

This is our local «neighborhood» branch and I just love this cozy little library. They have a wonderful selection of kids books, which is my primary reason for most visits. The library staff is also VERY helpful. They have great hours (weekends!) too. No need to go to another branch for THIS West Seattle-​ite.
