History

Established in 1977.

Paul W. McVicker began his law practice in 1977 in Chicago, Illinois. The practice grew into a small firm with seven attorneys with Paul supervising client litigation. He concentrated in complex civil litigation in equity and chancery and child custody. From 1993 through 2005 he was a court-​appointed guardian ad litem, attorney, or child’s representative in contested custody cases in Cook County, Illinois.

Paul began family mediation in 2000 and was a member of the court-​annexed mediation panel in DuPage County, Illinois for divorce and custody cases and in Kane County, Illinois for post-​decree modification matters.

Paul began mediation in Washington in 2006, completed his Collaborative Law training that year and was admitted to the Washington Bar in 2007. In 2008 he began his practice of law in the State of Washington and established Seattle Law and Mediation, P. S. providing family law mediation, arbitration, and representation in Collaborative Law or Court.
