We specialize in custom window coverings and closets. We come to your house or business for a free design consultation. We will show you many different samples, and take the measurements necessary to create a proposal within your price range. We offer metal blinds, wood blinds, cellular shades, Duettes, sunscreen and roller shades, roman shades, draperies, curtains, natural woven shades, shutters, sliding panels, and draperies/​curtains. We offer affordable brands to pricier ones such as Hunter Douglas. We also carry QMotion motorized shades that operate using D batteries and are virtually silent. We have a full line of beautiful fabrics for draperies. All our products come with a limited lifetime warranty. We offer free temporary shades to use until your order is installed.

Our shelving systems for closets, pantries, and garages are made from ¾ inch melamine that comes in many colors. We design your closet based upon your needs with shelves, hanging, drawers and cabinets

History

Established in 1987.

Connie Wagner started the business after finishing interior design school at Bellevue Community College. The window coverings and the closet design are the last things to go into a remodel or new construction, so she decided to do both for the client’s convenience.

In 2008, Connie’s daughter, Sonja joined the business. Sonja had her own craft design business, Funkylicious Funktional Art for 10 years. Connie and Sonja enjoy working together and finding solutions using their differing perspectives.

I had reached out to several companies for ideas that included motorized blinds. Sonja came to my house and we decided on solar blinds, but when I emailed her and asked if she could come up with a quote for another type of blind, she did so within a day! She never batted an eye at my 180 degree change of mind. The installation procedure was easy and professional. I couldn’t be happier with the results, and I highly recommend this company to all, As I told Sonja, I hadn’t thought about window coverings for 20 years, and she did all the thinking for me. They also do closets and cupboards with tempting designs. When I am ready to do them, Seattle Design Solutions with Connie, Sonja and Dean will be my go-​to company.

SDS was one of four companies I reached out to to make my small, angle-​ceilinged master closets more space efficient. Sonya was precise in her measurements and thoughtful in her design, making sure I was comfortable each step of the way. SDS also turned around the install within two days AND with the most competitive price! A nice surprise too were the rounded corners of their edges and brushed metal rods, which made my closets look even more professional.

We have really large, cornered windows in our master bedroom, along with a sliding glass door. We wanted something that fit our budget, looked amazing, was easy to open and close, and provided blackout.

Connie and Sonja did a great job with my new closets and Hunter Douglas blinds. They really know what they are doing — everything came out perfect. They has a real eye for how to better utilize the space in my closet, which I had NO idea about. They also had great suggestions for blinds, colors, etc. They even ended up pointing us in the right directions for a custom window we needed done. Highly recommend. Prompt and responsive, pleased with end products they delivered.

We worked with Connie and Sonja for a master closet installation for a 2010 remodeling project. We had not budgeted for this part of the project, but it was one of the best investments we made.
Connie and Sonja worked with us to create a workable design that did not bust the bank. They gave us many choices for fixtures and finishes. Installation was smooth and uneventful.

It was fortuitous that just as my old window coverings were starting to fail one by one, I found Seattle Design Solutions. It didn’t hurt that I got started with a discount coupon, but even without that, I can wholeheartedly recommend them. Connie and Sonja helped me pick out Hunter Douglas blinds which are so much easier to use and nicer than the older ones I had. Along with Dean, this knowledgeable and efficient crew had the install done in no time. The blackout shade for the bedroom needed some tweaking and this was handled creatively and professionally. I’m very pleased with the new blinds and have to say it was absolutely a pleasure to work with such a skilled, friendly, and efficient local business.

We recently used Seattle Design Solutions for the window treatments and closetsfor our new home. We had an option to work with our builder’s vendor, but decided
to get quotes from other vendors. We found that SDS had very competitive rates
and a wide selection of window treatments. On top of that they also were able to
do custom closets and guide us with the design.
For the window treatment we went with 2″ wood blinds for most windows but did
roller blades on some and sliding panels on the patio door. Sonja and Connie delivered on their promise and the end result was something my wife and I admire every day. Checkout pictures of roller shades with wood valance and 2″ blinds w/​no holes.
For the closets, we wanted a look very similar to calfornia closets but without
paying the high price. In total we got 3 walk-​in closets (one in the master bedroom
is rather huge) plus shelves in the pantry and also in the laundry room. The space
looks very functional and quality of material used is excellent.
Overall SDS provided us extremely professional service and our experience with
them was a pleasant one. I’d HIGHLY recommend them for window/​closet jobs.

Connie & Sonia from SDS are absolutely amazing. They were very patient with me and helped break down a total house remodel into manageable pieces. Both are so creative, who knew my laundry room could be so efficient AND attractive! They knew just what to do for kids and guest bedroom closets ~ their solution for each ~ spot on! They also gently guided me into making the perfect choice of fabrics for roman shades and living room drapery. Stage 3 consisted of blinds for the balance of the home, which turned out absolutely perfect! Next up on the agenda will be the master dressing room … I would not dream of calling anyone other than SDS! Complete trust in Connie, Sonia and the products they represent. Thank you SDS!
