Seattle Data Recovery

Not trustworthy and suspicious business, to say the least.
Do not work with these people. I took my hard drive to them when their office was located in downtown back in July 2011. It was impossible to reach Mr. Vu via phone after that meeting and he never opened the door when I went to his office. I finally found his business moved to the current Elliot Bay location (with a different name). I decided to see him in person last summer and he said my hard drive was in his lab in Lynwood and he could work on it or bring it back to me. I was not able to reach him by phone ever again. I just gave him a call today and his cell phone number is continued!
Mr. Vu, can I get my external hard drive back?

Tony (Vu) was great at recovering all my pictures and music off my crashed hard drive. My hard drive crashed, I went to Best Buy and also called a friend who works for Symantec and none of the non-​super technical ways of bypassing the hard drive storage were viable. I was coming to terms with the idea that I would probably never get it back and called SDR. Tony was super helpful and reassuring in that he could most likely recover everything and he did.
Turns out — All of the memory collapsed and Tony was able to recover it. I am so THANKFUL for getting all my pictures off — I would have lost about 1 ½ years of pix of family and kids, and dealing with replacing all the music that was lost (I had put about a month of my life into transferring every one of my CDs into iTunes, which weren’t backed up either, so I learned the hard way that «syncing» iTunes only goes computer
to iPhone, and if the computer is blank, it will overwrite the iPhone with nothing). Cant say enough great things about SDR, and love the new location on Western.

We contacted Vu when we had a NAS LaCie serve loose a power supply and removed all our data files from the drive. Vu recovered all our files. Yes all 194GB and since it was critical he worked through the night to get our data back to us the following morning. He is now helping us replace our NAS Server and we look forward to working with him. We would recommend his services in the area of Data Recovery without hesitation.

My hard drive crashed on me and I thought I had lost everything. I took it to Vu who got me back all my pictures, music, Word and Excel documents. He recovered everything! This is after I had two other people tell me that I was S.O.L.

Vu was kind enough to recommend (and order) me a new external hard drive when mine kicked the proverbial bucket, and was very prompt in transferring all my info to the fresh one. I dislike dealing with techie things, so this was great for me.

ONE STAR IS WAY TOO MANY. This is the absolute worst business I have ever dealt with. My hard drive broke 16 months ago and I still dont have it back. I have never gotten a return phone call or email, and only one return text saying he would send my drive out several months ago. Spare yourself some serious time and frustration and steer clear of Vu.
A complete professional disappointment.

Do not use Seattle Data Recovery if you expect to actually work with a company you can trust to keep their word. This company is very suspect and does not seem legit. I had someone come pick up my computer under the promise that he’d return the computer within one day and obtain the data I requested to be retrieved from the computer within two weeks.
After week one I contacted Vu ha, who promised to have the computer and information back to me within another week. After the second week of un-​returned messages and phone calls ignored I requested the computer be returned immediately because based on the conduct of unprofessionalism, I was forced to question if the person was a crook. (I’d only found the company name through google and had not checked for any references)
Eventually Vu ha did return the computer; which was practically a month later, but instead of providing me with the data he was supposed to recover he again stated he would get the information to me within a week. He’d cloned the hard drive and supposedly just needed to verify a few things and print documents. He openly mentioned personal information that was on my computer in front of my company, which I found to be very unprofessional and tactless but since he still had a clone to the computer which I needed, I continued to play nice despite my concerns and frustrations with his ethics.
About 5 months after all of my correspondences being ignored I got a surprise text message asking to meet about the data from the computer.
I meet with him thinking he’ d finally came through on his word. Only to find that he again did not have any of the data he’d supposedly retrieved from the computer and again claimed he would get it to me in… you guessed it «a week».
Needless to say, he has never produced any of the data he agreed to retrieve from the compute or anything for that matter. He has however mentioned things on the computer letting me know he has taken the time to go through it. Despite numerous request for the information he has taken from the computer as well as the clone of the hard drive I have received nothing but countless lies, excuses and more claims to have it all to me with in «a week».
I would deduct a star if possible. Do not use this «company» as it’s employees have Very poor ethics. Does not honor agreements. Has no sense of discretion. Is dishonest and seems to lack basic morals. I am very concerned to know this person is still out there with my personal information and a clone to the hard drive of a computer that contains much of my personal information and others. This experience has certainly forced me to become more cautions when selecting an establishment to deal with important, sensitive matters. Always ask for references and do your research!

This business is a COMPLETE fraud. The owner Vu Ha disappeared with my hard drive he was supposed to repair and this jerk didn’t call or let me know he was closing his business. He’s also done similar things to others I found out on Google (google his name, find the listing, then click on reviews). He posted his own glowing review, but it does not outweigh what he’s done to me and others. I’ve filed a police report of theft, and am reporting identity theft attempt to the FBI.
