Rick and his staff are the absolute best. They treat my dog and each dog with the utmost care and love. I’d give six stars if I could.

These guys are amazing! I had a 3 month old St. Bernard and was on a tight time schedule. They were able to expedite the verification process and took him in immediately. Upon picking him up, Barnaby (my pup) had made great puppy friends and was napping before I got him home. SCC’s staff was attentive, professional and warm. I brought Barnaby back 3 more times that week and he will be a regular at the Seattle Canine Club. If you are in search for a top of the line Doggy Day Care, look no further!

Barley loves the club! He always comes hope happy and tired. The staff is amazing! I looked at multiple doggie daycares and SCC was by far the nicest, cleanest, and (shockingly) quietest! Everything is always so chill there. Great place that I couldn’t recommend more.

My crazy cocker actually LIKES going to boarding now! Thank goodness :) Rick is wonderful with my very old dog and I love the new location.

I highly recommend SCC for doggie daycare. Rick and his staff are life savers! They take care of my Klee Kai for doggie day care almost 5 days a week. Please don’t criticize me for taking my dog to daycare M-​F as he loves it there and he is a healthy, happy pup, so don’t judge! Most Klee Kai are «velcro dogs» and love to be around people. Mine has severe separation anxiety and does not like to be alone. Before I tried doggie daycare, we tried letting him stay at home during the day and having our dog walker come over in the afternoon for an HOUR long walk/​visit. Well, while that may have been a little cheaper on a daily basis, it was not enough for him to get all of his energy out and when I came home from work, he was in panic mode and unhappy… so doggie day care was the best solution!
Rick and his staff are always helpful and I know that my dog is well cared for there. My dog is a very high energy, very smart and likes to escape. The team and other doggies keep him busy there so he gets all the play time and energy out. When I come to pick him up, he is smiling, happy and tired! He’ll sleep for the rest of the day pretty much. I’d rather pay to take my dog to daycare at SCC and have him looked after than leaving him home alone any day. Thank you Seattle Canine Club!

I had a last min daycare need — Rick as awesome in accommodating my doodle! So excited to find this place by work!

My Maggie Mae (Coon Hound) has been attending Doggie Daycare at SCC for 4 years now. She also boards here when we have trips that she cannot accompany us on. I highly recommend SCC! I can be confident that Maggie is being well cared for at SCC. Rick & crew care about dogs and know what they are doing. Thanks SCC for many years of outstanding service!

Ok, so my little schnauzer was so tired after I brought her home from day care last week that I literally kept checking her nose to see if she was feeling ok. What is that worth to me? Everything ! she had a great time, was well taken care of, and I had a guilt free evening of relaxation by the fireplace. Normally after being gone all day, I feel like she needs a longer more active walk.
Thank you Rick and staff for letting me enjoy a little relaxation. Somewhat unusual for me on a Friday night! See you soon.

My dog has never been boarded before and I was very up tight about leaving her but she had a wonderful time. The staff took very good care of her and they didn’t even mind when I called to check on her. She will definitely be back. The staff is great and the kennel is clean. Most places smell of dogs this is clean and doesn’t smell.

My Berner Lulu LOVES going to doggie day care! Friendly and welcoming staff. I love knowing that she’s getting socialization and exercise when I’m at work. She goes 1 – 2 times per week and comes home exhausted! I highly recommend Seattle Canine Club.

We just started bringing our dog here once a week about a month ago. She absolutely loves it. The first day she was a little wary, didn’t want to walk to the back with the guy, so I helped out. That was the last time she showed any hesitation! Now she’s pulling at the leash to get me to the door faster, and she trots off to the back excited to play with the other pups! She’s completely exhausted when she gets home, and she’s doing even better socializing with other dogs at the park and in our neighborhood.

Awesome place for dog daycare and overnight boarding. Rick genuinely loves, understands, and cares about the dogs. It’s priceless to have a place where I can drop my dog off and know he’ll be well taken care of. My dog loves it here.

I have had mixed experiences with other kennels. The staff can make the difference between an outstanding experience and wishing you had left your dog at home. If you are looking at kennels, take the time to bring your dog in person and see how the staff interacts with you and your dog.
Rick spent a good part of his day evaluating my dog and listening to my concerns. He was highly knowledgeable and inspired confidence. When I emailed Rick, he was quick to respond. Rick considered my dog’s individual needs and catered to them as much as practical. His kennel manager was helpful and she asked the right questions.
The kennel has repeat clientele. And we have become one of them. Our dog is a playful dog that gets antsy without a certain amount of daily activity. As a working couple, he can be bored of us. But he is older so gets gets cranky with too much kennel dog play (old achy bones). Rick and his staff find the perfect mix of play and rest to keep him happy.
Rick brings in a variety of Veterinarian, grooming, and training options for your pet. It’s clear that these are chosen as if he were choosing his own personal health care. I cannot more highly recommend this kennel.

Perfect place for my small dog, Florence. Some days she is with the other small dogs and some days she is with the medium dogs, which she loves! She is always happy and exhausted when I pick her up, which is my goal. The service is great, I never have to wait more than a minute either when dropping off or picking up. Load zone in front is always available. Except maybe when the Mariners are playing.
I have been very pleased with the facilitiy and the service. This is my first experience with doggie daycare and it has been very positive. Another good thing is that I don’t need to make a reservation/​appointment; I just drop her off when I need to.

Our dog has been going here for over a year. He goes once a week and loves it. The staff here are great, and the owner, Rick, genuinely cares about your companion. I trust my dog with SCC.
Our dog is always happy when he comes home, and the staff tell me who he played with, and how the day went. We’ve kept our dog here over the weekend as well, and other than missing the little guy a lot, it went well.
We also took a dog training class here from a third party, which was great.

While all the staff are great, Rick is exceptional!
The facility is split into 3 sections; small dogs; medium-​activity, and high-​activity, allowing your pup to be around similar energy pups.
Gilly is a medium English Crème Golden Retriever and falls into the medium-​activity. Her reaction in the car as we drive down 1^st Ave would tell you all you needed to know! She gets so excited to go!
Gilly has previously torn both her CCLs, and after therapy, we needed to board her with specific instructions of limited play /​limited interaction. SCC [and Rick! ] totally complied and still made sure Gilly wasn’t forgotten. Rick & staff kept daily notes and provided a status of how she was doing.
During her physical therapy we were looking for locations to swim Gilly as part of her therapy. Rick immediately recommended Seahurst Park in Burien.
Rick was also knowledgeable and helpful about local Vets, what their strengths were, etc.
The facility is clean and well maintained, and one the largest in Seattle.
You can tell all the staff love their pups!

Dog daycare and boarding shops are not a rarity in Seattle, but the incredible customer service, knowledge and positive energy at the Seattle Canine Club is unmatched anywhere. This facility is amazing! It is clean, well-​run, organized and friendly, which creates happy dogs everywhere inside those walls. I was shocked with the way all the dogs were getting along. They really wanted to be there and were enjoying every minute of it. Separated into different rooms by temperament also makes it the safest animal care facility I had ever seen. Rick is a genius. I recommend his facility to friends and family often!

I took a training class here from a third party and they did great. However I would never send my dog here for boarding. The dogs seemed miserable and their accommodations didn’t seem all that great.

How have I not written a review for this great place yet? I love it. Here’s why:
Rick, the owner, is almost always onsite. He genuinely loves these dogs. Our pooch escaped from our backyard recently and we brought a flyer to SCC. Rick was so worried. The Monday after we found our pooch (she was missing for 2.5 days), we brought her in for a day of daycare to convalesce in a special separate room they have. Rick was so genuinely overjoyed to see that she was safe — he got down on his knees and gave her a big hug! He also suggested all sorts of ways we could reinforce our fence so that she can’t get out again.
There’s a loading zone right out front, so you don’t have to hunt for parking. That’s nice.
Rick is a true pro on animal behavior. I know that it’s not intuitive to put doggies in individual 6’x8’ kennels at arrival and pickup time, but he does it to establish boundaries, routine, order, and safety. Pack animals thrive under such conditions. This is not a free-​for-​all, chaos-​driven facility. It is well thought out, clean, and bigger than the other centrally-​located doggie daycares in Seattle. I really love that it has a room for dogs needing a mellow space to be old, heal, whatever. Rick will not allow aggressive dogs at his facility, but there’s a high-​energy play that happens all day long. Our pooch is a total athlete, and she comes home wiped out.
When our pooch and I were at Home Depot recently, our customer service person mentioned that she had been a dog wrangler at SCC. She didn’t have a bad word to say about how the employees are treated, which is nice peace of mind, too.
When I take our pooch to SCC, I feel like I’m taking her to a place where they love dogs as much as I do. It feels less like a business and more like a treat for my dog.

Recently I left Carson (my doggy) with the Seattle Canine Club again for boarding while I was away on vacation. I needed his toenails clipped; I can’t clip them myself as I must have clipped to close to the quick and hurt him once, and he won’t let me anymore. I usually have my vet do it, but he’s so nervous at the vet that it’s very difficult for them as well, it usually takes three of us to hold him down, muzzled.
The folks at the Seattle Canine Club let me know that if he was too nervous, they wouldn’t clip his nails, as they wanted to keep him happy and social. Cool by me! As usual, they took notes on his care and feeding, and assured me he’d get plenty of supervised play time with other dogs (I’m very concerned about him getting socialized and remaining friendly, since he’s now an ‘only child’).
When I got back to pick him up, he was happy as usual. I loved how the folks at the desk talked to him in funny voices. They let me know that they had absolutely no problem clipping his toenails, they just bribed him with cookies. That says a lot to me.
Also, on a side note, after discussing other boarding places around town with a fellow Unilocaler, I thought it was worth noting that *as far as I know* the dogs aren’t taken outside for walks or pee time. They have a huge indoors space where they supervise the dogs playing together. (The SCC is located in Sodo, near Safeco field, so there really isn’t anywhere outside that is safe for dogs).
Remaining indoors can be problematic for well house-​trained dogs who are looking for a patch of grass or dirt to pee in. What Seattle Canine Club has to solve this problem is a big room full of rocks and gravel, with a fire hydrant in the middle of it. This helps the dogs to feel more comfortable relieving themselves on a non ‘indoor-​floor’ surface.
One other thing to note: The Seattle Canine Club facilities have windows into all their rooms where dog parents can view the goings-​on of their dogs. This includes the room they clip toenails and do any other grooming in. One of the owners explained that their policy is to treat your dog as you would treat them, and have (literally) transparency into their inner operations so you can always see how they treat our dogs, no matter what they’re doing.
