Seattle by Segway

Lots of fun, even for 66 year old. A bit hard to find. Pleasant, patient group leader. Small group of 6 was right size. Price competitive.

Stephen was our tour guide and he was fantastic! Very patient for those that weren’t as quick to learn, however the Segway after a few minutes just becomes part of you! 5 mile ride through all the sites you want to see and Stephen knows enough to make it interesting. Liked it better than the «quack» tour!

Erich did the tour my mom and I took in late August! He was such a fabulous guide! This was our 4^th or 5^th tour and it was one of the best we’ve taken. Although Erich knew his history of the city like nobody’s business, he was kind enough to give us the information we needed and then let us ask questions instead of spending time over educating us! I would do this trip again and I would ask for Erich. Thanks Erich for such a great tour!

Had such an amazing time on this tour! We had Stephen as our guide, couldn’t of asked for better, so informative and friendly, would recommend him as a tour guide to anyone wanting to do this.
We ended up doing a early tour at 9am and lucky for us our group was very small so we had a really quick training. Neither of us had been on a Segway before and the short training sesh was really all we needed. Segway’s are very simple to ride!
Then the tour around Seattle was great and very interesting. Would suggest doing it in the morning as they show you quite a bit then you can see what you like and go back for a more in depth look, after the tour.
If you’re looking to do a tour, Seattle by Segway is a great alternative to sitting on a bus or walking.

Couldn’t be located in a more dangerous place. Cars — a lot of cars — and people everywhere. So many people to dodge. Sidewalks are either demolished or non-​existent. The Segways are a blast to drive but this route is just terrible and takes all the joy out of the machine. Our tour guide was kind of a joke, too.

I LOVED THIS TOUR!!! When my mom and I first arrived, I had no idea what to expect, but I quickly came to enjoy it. Our guide taught us how to use the Segways inside the building. Then, we were able to ride freely in the bike lane.
Once we were all accustomed to the segways, our guide took us on a tour of Seattle. We hit every major sight– Pike Place, Seattle Center, the Space Needle, etc. I loved it! Our guide was INCREDIBLY knowledgable, and I learned SO much.
It was also evident that she took great care of the Segways– they were in top condition. She also cleaned all the helmets before use.
DEFINITELY recommend visiting Seattle By Segway :-)))

This place is one of the only Segway tour companies in downtown Seattle and they are, by far, much cheaper than their competition. My family of four did the tour with Ezra as our guide and it was awesome! He was the best and even took us to a few places that aren’t normally part of the tour since our group was small and the crowd wasn’t too large; we did the 4:00 tour. It was the perfect time of day because things were still bustling but not too crowded to enjoy ourselves. This tour was super easy to book but I would advise that you book your tour as early as you possibly can so you can get the time you want. We waited until the day of and almost didn’t get to do the tour on our trip here. It certainly makes me want to buy one of my own, have fun!

Had the most fun today with Ezra cruising the city of Seattle! Great instruction, great sites and fun info while gliding along. Excellent fun for all ages. Can’t wait to go again! You can feel free even in the city!

What a fun way to learn about Seattle! We rode all around down by the piers and through Pike Place area, up through the Space Needle area and all around town. Ezra was a super cool guide and our two boys, 17 and 19 LOVED the experience. It’s very easy to learn to ride and the staff is very helpful and friendly. Great time! Don’t forget to ask for the AAA discount

This tour needs for the tour guide to have a mic and for the patrons to have head phone sets of some kind and to find an alternative route while construction is going on at the pier. I was really surprised by the «training» inside the building, for me it was okay since I have been on Segway’s before but if I were a new person to this it wouldn’t have been a good experience. It was still fun to be on the Segway! It is a great way to see the different parts of town.

If you are reading this review, you will probably ride a segway soon. Segways are awesome. Looking up seattle downtown on a segway is probably one of the better experiences. The other tour that might top this is probably the san francisco tour. Stephen was our tour guidefor the drake downtown tour — friendly and helpful chap.
The store front where the tour starts is under a viaduct and in an ugly part of town. that’s the only bad part. Reserve a tour — walking on is not a good idea. You will find the front door locked between tours. The tour sizes are limited to the number of segways available.
You do not need any prior experience on a segway to be on the tour. Pick a dry day. Cold, rain and slick streets are not a good mix with a segway tour.

Four family members and I had a fabulous time scooting around downtown on our segways. Stephen was a great guide — funny and encouraging, and he personalized the tour a bit for us, taking us to the gum wall. A great way to see Seattle.

My first time on a segway… my husband and I went on a date. I surprised my husband because he would always laugh at people he say on segways downtown so I thought what would be more romantic? :) He ended up loving it, right from the get go. It took me probably the first half of the tour to get my wheels wet. I was quite nervous. Anyhow, it ended up being a fabulous, fun, exciting date. Thanks to Stephen for his super tour guide skills, and patience…

This place is the worst. We planned ahead, bought the Groupon and made reservations ahead of time. We were called just a few hours before our scheduled afternoon tour and were told that since our tour guide called in sick that the company couldn’t accommodate us. We were offered a makeup time for 9am the next morning. It was our last day in town and so we decided to move some other plans around to squeeze it in. On our way to the office in an Über (which cost us $ 10 from our downtown hotel) with 15 minutes to spare for the start of the tour we were called and asked if we were coming to which we confirmed that we were 5 minutes away. Two minutes later we received a call back that they would no longer take us «due to ice». It was over 40 degrees, sprinkling, with no ice in sight. (Freezing is 32 degrees so try a better excuse next time). They ruined not one but two days of our 5 day trip. Terrible customer service.

I never rode a segway before and I was nervous. Even after trying in the first 5 minutes I wanted to quit. But I’m so glad I didn’t. After the first few minutes of riding outside we all became pros. Brandon was our tour guide and he was so friendly. He made us all feel comfortable. The tour was the best way to see Seattle. Ill be coming back every time we come to visit Seattle. It was so much fun.

Die Tour durch Seattle war eine etwa 5 Meilen lange Runde, mit ein paar kurzen Pausen an ein paar schönen Hotspots, Dauer knapp 90min.
Segway-​Fahren macht immer wieder sehr viel Spaß, vor allem in so einer tollen Großstadt!
Im direkten Vergleich zu einer Segway-​Tour in München gingen die Geräte (gefühlt) nicht ganz so schnell, wie bei den bayerischen Kollegen :-)

Tolle Tour, cooler Guide (thanks to Stephen) und das bei schönem Wetter :-)

If you are at least somewhat experienced with segway tours, you’ll find that this tour is not as good as others. The tour guide did NOT teach us very much about the city, the segways did not come with little bags to put your stuff in (others do), the location of the office is REALLY creepy (located under a bridge near a homeless shelter?), and finally, the office space where they train you with the segway is so tiny. My advice — go on a segway tour in Seattle, but not this one! Unless it is your first time — then go ahead and go on this one — you won’t know any better :).

Out of the box I want to get the one con out of the way… bring your own helmet if you can as the supply they have is good but not great. This was a minor mosquito itch and nothing more.
We were met at the door by Stephen and felt right at home with him. My wife and 14y/​o daughter also agree that he was very likeable from the start. We were given a tutorial on the Segway with important do’s and dont’s and then made to run it around the indoor area until we met his approval. I must say that I felt pretty skittish on it and wondered if this was really going to work out. This thought process lasted all of about 2 minutes once out the door. It is really amazing how quickly you get comfortable on these things. If you are worried at all, please do yourself a favor and take the chance. We spent nearly two hours running from one attraction to another while being given some nice tidbits of information about the area. From the pier, Space Needle, and Pike Place Market, this was a fully packed trip.
I want to end being very clear. If you are going to spend some money on a tour in Seattle I would recommend putting this at the top of your list. You will have a blast and I’m guessing you’ll be looking at how much a Segway costs because it is so much stinking fun.

If you’ve never done a Segway tour then you’ll like this tour because everybody likes their first Segway experience. As for the tour though it’s pretty lame. You’ll ride around a few streets, see the Space Needle, then ride back to the starting point. For $ 90 a person it’s just not worth it because you see so little. Our guide was friendly and a nice guy but he told us nothing about the local area, history, or anything at all until we got to the Space Needle and Experience Music Project Museum. This is more a Segway ride than a tour.

My wife and I took this tour during our honeymoon. Seattle is well suited to a Segway tour, as so many popular destinations lie along the route.
This is a great way to get the lay of the land, plan future excursions, and hey — you get to ride a Segway! If you haven’t ridden one yet, you’re missing out. The teenagers on our trip had just as much fun as we did, and we’re in our 40s.

Don’t even think about NOT doing this tour. We were a little skittish about learning how to ride a Segway, but seriously, it took like five minutes and we felt pretty comfortable. I figured it was going to be huge fun and it definitely was. Absolutely loved it!
Erich was our guide and he rocked! Totally laid back and patient and agreeable to stop for pics whenever we wanted. We probably put like 7 – 8 miles on our Segways for sure. He also knew plenty about the different places we checked out.

Our tour group was just my husband and I, so we were completely spoiled. Erich took us to a few places he said he doesn’t usually take groups, so we felt really special.
I seriously want a Segway now as it was addicting and fun! It’s hilarious just zooming right by so many pedestrians. On top of that, we got lots of stares and ooohs and ahhhs from people that were way jealous as they watched us cruise on by.
We are off to Portland and are already going to book a Segway tour there as well.
Killer fun in every single way! I see us doing a Segway tour in every city we visit that has one.

Be advised, the office/​starting point of tour is in a sketchy underpass area on the same block as a homeless mission so there are definitely some undesirables hanging out nearby. Travel with a companion and you’ll be fine. Don’t let this deter you from trying this tour. You won’t be disappointed. Seriously, you won’t.
