Salon Ta Lenaje

Elena is such a sweetheart and did an amazing job on my hair. Like someone else mentioned, she really paid attention to detail even though I just asked for a simple trim. Highly recommend, and her salon is beautiful inside too!

I’ll just start out by saying that Elena is fantastic.
I’ve been to a few salons that charged anywhere from $ 20 – 60 for a simple haircut, but I was never 100% satisfied because in most cases, the stylist did not listen to what I wanted or needed. As soon as I got home, I’d realize some parts were cut too short and/​or I’d find other spots that needed to be fixed. As a result, every day was a hair day.
My luck finally changed when I found Elena. She listens and spends the time making sure you get exactly what you want and that every inch of your hair looks spot on when you leave her salon. All of the difficult areas are always taken care of without the need to point them out, which makes spending 3 – 5 minutes in the morning styling my hair actually possible instead of trying to fix it for 15 minutes before putting my hair in a pony tail. In addition, the salon is beautiful, clean and located in a great location with a lots of parking. I recommend Elena to anyone!!!

I don’t even know where to begin! Maekayla is an amazing stylist! Not to mention that she looks like Jennifer Lawrence! ;) She’s the only person I’ll trust with my hair. She’s very personable & professional. She knows how to hold a conversation as well as listen and never fails to impress me. She always have been able to create the style and look I visualize. Maekayla gave me a haircut and balayage and I love the results! I highly recommend her.
The owner of the salon is sweet! Didn’t catch her name but I noticed that she was cutting quite a few short length haircuts. All really nice! My grandma likes having her hair short and it’s definitely time for a haircut. Maybe I’ll refer her to her!

I had my hair cut and colored by Maekayla and she is remarkable. She is current on all hair cutting and coloring options, and is very likable and professional. She makes you feel like you are a guest in her home.
Also, I had another manicure with Elizabeth again (probably my 20^th) and have booked a mani/​pedi next week. Truly, she is a credit to her profession. Give both of these women an opportunity to make a difference in your life.

I use Elizabeth at Salon Ta Lenaje for manicures and pedicures and she does a great job. She gives the best hand and foot massages to go along with the excellent nail services, I would highly recommend her!

Elena does a great job cutting short hair. Cuts are only $ 30. She’s getting busier and busier. I used to be able to walk in. Not any more! It’s a one person shop so make an appointment to be sure you get in!

I went to this salon a few days ago as I just moved back to the Seattle area and needed my hair thinned out. My haircut just prior to it out of state had forgotten to thin it. I went in and explained the situation to her and told her I did not want any length taken off but just needed it thinned. She then proceeded to trim all of my ends and reshape the frame of my hair which I did not want.
The major problem I had with Elena is that she did not wet my hair down and having wavy/​curly hair, this makes it impossible to cut straight if it is half dry (springs up and causes and uneven layer). She did not listen to the things I wanted done to my hair, and after she trimmed me up I asked if we could thin it out (which is the initial reason I came to her) and she said, «well that will mess up all the layers I just cut. You really don’t want me to do that because it won’t look good.» After she thinned it out, unwillingly, she asked if she could cut off another 1 – 2 inches of hair! I said «No thank you!»
She was not professional and told me that her previous customer’s haircut looked stupid!
She did not style my hair at the end, as other reviewers have mentioned, and this left me looking pretty ridiculous.
The entire experience was unacceptable and I will not return. The price was enticing to me but you really got less than what you paid for at Ta’ Lenaje Salon. I would not recommend this salon to anyone.

This salon has been in the Admiral location for about a year, and this was my first visit. Elena was my hairdresser for the occasion. She was friendly and listened to what I wanted and how I wanted my hair cut. Some hairdressers seem to listen — then cut it how THEY want it! She did exactly what I asked. Yay!
The price for a haircut is less expensive than most places, $ 25 as opposed to the $ 40 I normally pay. However, they did not shampoo and blow dry my hair. She damp-​cut my hair (spritzed with water) and made a pass with the blow dryer more to clean out the little bits of freshly trimmed hair than to style. So when I walked out, my hair looked really stupid because it was all shapeless from the new cut.
Good: They are adjacent to Safeway so there is tons of free parking. They take walk-​ins and it is easy to make an appointment at the last minute. She did do a nice cut and listened to my requests. They do take debit/​credit cards — very convenient compared to my usual hairdresser who requires cash only. Yay!
Could do better: I would pay an extra few $$ for a shampoo and style so I can at least not look like a goon when I walk out. It’s really hard to evaluate the new cut when it’s not styled.
