History

Established in 2002.

After traveling to Bali, I wanted to recreate some of the traditional spas I visited. Hence, SalonDEWI was born. I felt Seattle needed a place where people could escape and relax if only for a few hours. My dream was to offer exceptional service and treatments in a laid back atmosphere, while allowing our guests to become our family. With this in mind, I have built the business on a word of mouth and referral basis. All those that visit are treated with care and respect. We have our own product line … clients love it!

My specialty is the Brazilian wax. What is a Brazilian wax, you ask? It is a bikini wax where all the hair (yes, darling, that hair in the «hidden» pubic areas — lip and bum) is removed. You could say I do more than most to tame the wild hair. I’ve performed the Brazilian wax on thousands of satisfied clients.

How does one become a Brazilian waxier? The only answer I can give is lots of practice. The procedure is not taught in school. And it helps to have a vivid imagination not only when creating the Designer waxes, but also in removing the hair. Some of the positioning I guide my clients to assume is based on yoga stretches. These positions help to keep the skin taunt, allowing the hair to be removed without damaging the skin and aids to make those nether regions lovely.

Becoming a Waxing Diva isn’t something that I set out to do — but I was born with the ability. Want to know more about the Brazilian, please stop by and visit.

Travis and Eri are THE BEST. Top notch. That is all. I don’t trust anyone else with my eyebrows (not even myself!). They demonstrate such pride in their work, and I have yet to see a salon that takes more time and care with their clients. Plus, they are just cool people. I’ve been going to Travis for a few years now & am always a happy customer. The spa is very inviting with a calming atmosphere, candles, Buddha statues & relaxing music. Travis is a fabulous esthetician, he’s gentle & uses products that are great for my sensitive skin. He’s thoughtful & listens to my skin concerns to evaluate the best products to use & gives me instructions for at home care. He’s had this business for over 10 years (through a few moves) & has a great reputation. They have a website where you can book appointments online instantly, it’s super convenient when I don’t want to play phone tag. But when I do call & leave a message, Travis is quick to call back & is super accommodating when I have to make changes. Salon Dewi is inviting & always a relaxing experience that’s on my regular go to list.

Needed an emergency eyebrow wax so I turned to Unilocal for help. This place came up in the top 3 and I now know why! Eri was FANTASTIC! My brows have seriously never looked this good! She took such care, tweezing every last little hair, and was so nice. I told her I had a friend coming to town this weekend and she gave me some great suggestions for fun things to check out. Great service, really cute and cool space… There is no question I will be coming back here for all my waxing needs!

I have been getting waxed by Eri for over 8 years and am so happy with the level of skill and service that she provides! I actually went to Eri first as a dare from my partner who didn’t think I could handle the so called pain of a Brazilian wax. I told Eri it was my first time and she put me at ease and was delicate and professional. Yes, it wasn’t a walk in the park, but no painful bumps or razor burn just pure smoothness! She is great at getting me in last minute before a trip to get be beach ready and candid enough to tell me that I have too many blackheads to be seen in public and need a cleansing facial. Check her out and I swear if you aren’t happy your just a Seattle Freeze Clone!

Great salon, excellent service, Eri was efficient, professional, and chatty which helped make what could have been an awkward experience into an easy one. It was a little hard to find, so my one suggestion would be to include more clear directions in the confirmation email, but once you get there you’ll be glad that you came!

Travis raises the waxing bar very high! The experience starts before you even enter the salon. It is like a beautiful secret as a «hidden» door leads you down stairs into a gently lit den of Buddhas and good energy. Travis welcomed us with «come in my beauties!» He is just a gem, his technique is superb, bedside manner is fun and respectful, and he is the BEST I have ever been to!
There is a difference when it comes to waxing. Travis wrote the «how to» book on Brazilian waxing for sure! Must go. I will go and bring friends next time in the area. Wow. Thank you, Travis. You somehow have made a generally «uncomfortable» process «comfortable».

Popped in here for an impromptu facial while on vacation in Seattle. It’s on the lower level and requires a code to get in the door so you’ll need to call ahead to confirm availability and to get the code. The facial was fantastic! She applied steam to open up my pores and then extracted a lot of junk. I left feeling so refreshed. Great use of time.

Travis is incredible. I got a facial from him for the first time today. He did wonders on my face. Very thorough during extractions and was kind enough to explain each product in detail before applying it to my face. I swear by rice powder exfoliant after this experience. Oh and please don’t forget to snuggle on your way out. Travis a loving character and says it makes his day. The least you could do is make his day after he totally made yours by hooking you up with a fresh face.

Travis has been my primary guy for all waxing and facial needs for… ever since Salon Dewi was located on E Pine 10+ years ago. I wouldn’t go anywhere else, because he takes care of me with skilled technique and the right products.
When I want to treat myself, I make a facial appointment and get pampered. The experience is so relaxing and the results are fantastic. My sister and I have both been amazed how Travis and Eri have tackled issues our dermatologists thought were lost causes. Voila! And no post-​facial breakouts like we’ve had at other places.
