I was going to try Saley 1st, but decided with another burger joint and was very disappointment, so went to Saleys and the burger was good!!! Just like a burger should be! I did order at the end of the day and my burger was a little sloppily made, but still good and the service was met with a great big smile! I should have went to Saleys 1st, but I am forever a customer! The bun lasted until the last bite not soggy, and my meat was well done as I had ordered! I cant wait to try breakfast!

Been here a fair few times now in the last couple of years. I stand by everything in the previous review. Just a couple of updates: Ask for the #2 Pineapple BBQ Swiss burger with Habanero spread. The spicy spread cuts through the richness and adds a really nice dimension to it. My new favorite though has to be the #6 Mushroom, Swiss BLT burger with a habanero spread and add grilled pineapples and BBQ sauce to it. This is huge and a tad bit messy but OHMYGOD it tastes so amazing. This is without doubt going to be what I order every single time going forward.(I wish they would name it The ROHAN: D) The one thing that’s really disappointing here are the fries. They used to be decent but recently they have become bland and limp. I wish they would season them well while frying them or when hot. The last 2 – 3 times I’ve taken them to go, the seasoning has all been on 1 – 2 fries making then almost inedible and the others completely devoid of seasoning. I’d rather have them optional for $ 1 and then just leave them out of my order. These are not the gourmet burgers you would expect at 8oz. They are plain, homely, hearty and delicious burgers with fresh ingredients and a whole lot of love. I would really love to give them 5 stars and if it’s just for the burgers I would. Overall, solid burgers, a tad bit pricey but worth it. I’d definitely recommend going here especially if you work around the neighborhood.

Really delicious burgers and sandwiches here! We had a burger with mushroom and Swiss and habanero dressing. Just a bit of spice, but excellent flavor. Also had the bearnaise chicken sandwich. Tasty bread, flavorful chicken. Staff was super friendly and service was fast. Clean place, but a little small, so don’t expect a table during a rush.

Well worth $ 10. If the fries were fresh cut the meal would be 5 stars. Great flavor double #1

This review is for their crepes(which is sad to be informed by other reviews that they longer make crepes). This place is in a super odd location on an island’ish on a busy street right by a bus stop. You would not think it, but it’s got some pretty good crepes. The service is a little shotty, but the crepes make up for it. Judging from the reviews of their other food items, they really need to fix that crêpe machine! :( #bringbackthecrepes

Disappointed. After seeing its 4* rating, I hoped the $ 10 sandwich, fries and experience would have proven worthwhile. It didn’t. The kitchen is visible from the street window and appears ugly and haphazard. The menu has misspellings; half the items are named, half are just numbers with descriptions. A cockeyed tarp hangs across the dish pit. The pleasant, shy young man taking my order informed me they no longer offer crepes because the machine broke and the owner says it’s too expensive to fix; maybe before summer they’ll be back. He recommended a few selections and I chose the #5 burger, hoping the pepper jack, jalapeños and garlic spread would carry more flavor than the atmosphere. The wifi is named«Salley», and the young man informed me they use it but the owner doesn’t give out the password. I appreciated his honesty. It didn’t take long to get my order. At 7pm I was one of two customers, but a dirty place setting graced the empty table next to me until my order was delivered. The basket’s contents looked impressive – a substantial, lightly grilled bun around a well-mounded pile of colorful ingredients and a healthy portion of thick fries. The burger tasted good, but I was hoping for ten dollars’ worth of food because the dining experience wasn’t worth much; sadly, I’d say Hardee’s offers a better burger at half the price. Better than Jack-in-the-Box, anyway. The jalapeños were fresh and evenly sliced but didn’t carry a hefty punch. The garlic sauce lingered in my mouth thirty minutes later; it wasn’t overwhelming in the moment, balancing nicely with the subtle beef flavor and the other toppings. The fries were typical fast-food steak fries I’d expect from any diner on a tight ordering budget, as Saley’s appears to be. I ate three of them, smothered in ketchup. Couldn’t make myself eat more. I bussed my dish and left, discovering I’d missed the last bus by sixty seconds. I walked around town for a while, reflecting on the impression my experience left upon me: it wasn’t worth it, and I’ll never do it again.

Umm guys. So sad. Just found out they stopped making crepes. This is what they started with and were known for. Now they replaced with lame burgers and sandwhiches. I’m sure they are still good but nothing compared to their crepes. Best crepes in the world used to be here. So disappointed. Ask them to bring them back! Giving 5 stars because I love them but won’t be returning.

One of my favorite lunch places in the area! The workers and staff are incredibly friendly and nice. You have the option to eat in or dine out and the service is always very prompt with your order. Takes five minutes at the most to fulfill your request! Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a bit to eat midday. The chicken avocado sandwich is absolutely amazing and served on a soft baguette with bacon, avocados, and the works. The side of fries are also fantastic and seasoned perfectly. The place gets busy around lunch time but so does every other restaurant in the area.

You know when a meal is really doggone good? When you get it and tell yourself. wow, that looks good, I should snap a quick photo of it… after I have just one bite. Then after your sixth bite. you tell yourself. «wow, I really need to Unilocal about this. the world must know how great this sandwich is. I should stop chewing and snap a quick photo of it to accompany my review… I’ll get right to it. after this next bite». and then of course. Before you know it. the sandwich is gone and there you are writing your review without the glorious photo to accompany it. Sorry dear reader, all you get are my words. This was my first time at Saley’s, my office recently relocated to 8th& Olive from 3rd& Madison. while there are a ton of food options in the Downtown core. There are very few budget friendly lunch options that are delicious. Saley’s solves that problem. Fittingly located on the island at 8th& olive, it is an oasis of pure deliciousness. I wish my metabolism were fast enough, I’d eat lunch there daily. The service is impeccable. The young lady at the register was extremely patient and very helpful, even as the line behind my colleague and I begin to grow and grow as the lunch rush slowly trickled in. The food. .delicious. I had the Flaming Chicken sandwich with bacon added. The chicken breast was cooked perfectly, the habanaro sauce was just hot enough to smack you on the tongue to alert you of it’s presence, but then quickly dissipated so you could enjoy the deliciousness of the grilled onions and garlic mayo sauce. The bread was even perfect. Very good food. great prices. $ 10 on average. No health food here. this is the food your mama made for you when you had a cold or better yet, had a broken heart and needed to drown your sorrows in one of mama’s delicious and soulful sandwiches that stick to your ribs. DELICIOUS!

I have been there two times now. Both times the food was hot and very good. You can tell they use high quality ingredients. The place is clean and customer service is good. One thing to watch for: very little indoor seating. So only plan to go during the lunch rush.

I love this place. I was introduced to this place by one of my colleagues, mainly for the wonderful fries they offer with their sandwiches. My favourite one here is the«Fiery chicken»(you can swap the meat for an extra charge). This place looks small from outside but packs a wide range of sandwich and burger options. The service is fairly fast and their sandwiches are really big. You might want to develop some serious appetite before visiting this place. Saley’s surely gives a great bang for your buck. P.S: Saley’s is offering a new range of breakfast sandwiches(did not get a chance to try one though)

This is a cute little place, if you’re in the area. We were looking to grab a quick bite to eat before picking our dog up at CityDog across the street, and decided to go in for a breakfast sandwich. It didn’t disappoint. We each had a big breakfast sandwich, which we probably could have split. It’s not the kind of thing I’d crave, or go back out of my way for, but it was good.

We really haven’t been here in about a year due to not living close or in the city, but now that we live downtown we decided to go and my other half wanted a crêpe which come to find out they do not have anymore? Hmmm We thought that’s what they were famous for right? Hmmm as we were waiting for our food another lady stopped by and wanted a crêpe as well and long be hold she was told they do not make them anymore. Anyways I ordered a bar b que bayonnaise chicken something lol can you really tell I was impressed? They kinda went from crepes to a hamburger joint? So anyways the other half ordered a chicken bayonnaise something as well. Well it was good but very messy so keep plenty of napkins on hand and the sandwiches are served with steak fries. Ok a lot of food for a good price, but very messy and well to be honest a half of sandwich would have been good enough for me. Now I have to be honest it sat in my stomach all night so I did not get much sleep at all. Just wasn’t for me seems like they went from a fancy different type of restaurant to a hamburger place with a flair to keep up with the downtown lunch growth. Bring back your crepes please. Your food is ok, but you really should not put so much of that bayonnaise sauce which pretty much is just another name for mayonnaise I would think. Anyways I probably will not return. Just is not for me oh well…

Avocado chicken, YES. A relatively convenient location to stop for a quick, affordable sandwich. Sandwiches are served with steak fries — but the star is really the sandwich itself. Genuinely friendly staff make it 5 stars.

The restaurant front says«crepes, sandwiches, and baguettes» but once you walk in… they do not serve any crepes. That was a pretty big disappointment because I was in the mood for a crêpe. Instead the menu is sectioned by burgers and sandwiches. Ended up ordering a chicken sandwich. The portion was quite large and it comes with fries, so it is definitely worth the price. The sandwich was pretty good. Nothing special to rave about but good enough to where I could go back if I was in the area. It’s a convenient place for a quick bite to eat. After that you might want to explore other options. And don’t forget, No crepes here.

Great service, great food, great prices. As other reviewers have noted, it has a real ‘local’ feel. The woman working was helpful and cool! Great service from a place that is technically only counter service. I had the BBQ chicken sandwich and it was awesome. Fries were pretty standard but yummy. Great spot for a quick lunch!

3.5 stars! I had a wonderful experience eating crepes at Saley back in the day it was located on Capitol Hill and right before they moved to this location. I remembered vividly how stuffed I was but also how much I enjoyed their crepes that I managed to finish their savory/sweet crêpe combo that they had back then in just a meal! It was such a memorable experience that literally walked home fully satisfied that day! :D So, naturally, when a few of us in my group had craving for crepes, I suggested we pay a visit to Saley’s at their new location. To my surprise, though, their current location didn’t seem to get as much foot traffic as they did when they were on Capitol Hill. Also, they seemed to have changed their menu(e.g. no more savory/sweet combo) and expanded their menu beyond just crepes to include sub/sandwiches, too. Overall, the experience at Saley’s was still good. The crepes were big and filling, but for some reasons, they didn’t taste as memorable as I remembered them to be. The wait time was actually quite long that I think we literally waited 25+ minutes to get our crêpe. The taste was definitey good and there’s nothing bad about it. It just… wasn’t a WOW like what I lingered in my memory the last time I ate there. Overall, a decent place to visit for crepes. Location isn’t as ideal to walk to, but if I were to think of a place with large, satisfying savory crepes, I’d probably think of Saley’s again… except…many with not as many wow factors as I had thought them to be.

Great breakfast sandwiches, we are full! I had the bacon, egg and cheese English muffin(larger muffin than what you buy in the store). My husband had the bacon egg and cheese baguette. The baguette was perfect– crispy on the outside, soft on the inside. Bacon could have been crispier but it was on a sandwich so not an official complaint. We asked for hot sauce and it was delicious. It’s a homemade habanero spread, a must try if you like spicy sauces.

Juicy, shredded chicken mopped up in Bearnaise sauce, stuffed silly in a chewy baguette w/crunchy aromatics and served alongside tasty steakfries. yup, this is the good stuff. My first meal in Seattle and I’m happy to have run into this joint, thanks to Unilocal monocle :) Straight up tasty tasty sandwiches. Make sure to ask for a little bit of the habanero sauce on the side. Some of the best sandwiches I’ve had on the west coast. Its the real deal 4 real. 5 deliciously messy stars.

Saley’s is an awesome spot for lunch in the black hole that’s the Denny Triangle area. The menu is heavy on crepes, burgers, and sandwiches, but I tend to stick with what I know and love, and that’s the original ham + egg. The crêpe is buttery, crispy and jam-packed with flavor, thanks to the special crêpe sauce. They should seriously bottle the stuff. Come early, or late, if you want a table. The place gets slammed during the noon hour. One day, I’ll get to work early enough to stop and try a breakfast sandwich. They look gooooood.

Was recommended here from the concierge at the Hyatt at Olive 8 across the street. It does not look like much from the outside and to be candid, if I had not had a specific recommendation I would have just kept walking. The food turned out to be absolutely top notch! I had the La Raine savory crêpe and my lunch mate the spinach curry chicken baguette. Both dishes were delicious and cooked perfectly. The crêpe was a tad crispier than I would have preferred but this is a minor criticism. The staff was very friendly and personable and the preparation was fast. Overall I would highly recommend the place for a quick lunch if your in the area.

This restaurant is basically on it’s own«island» There is a triangle where Olive Way and Howell split between 8th and 9th Ave. On this triangle there is pay parking as well as Saley’s. We had arrived early in the morning so we had ordered breakfast sandwiches. This small dining area has about 6 small tables and one 4 or 5 person booth. There are signs outside saying that they serve egg breakfast sandwiches which they do(English muffins) as well as baguette sandwiches. Their menu already has various crepes both sweet and savory. I had went ahead and ordered a baguette egg sandwich for myself(bacon) and my wife also had a baguette(turkey). We both had coffee and I also had a side hash brown. The food was good and served fresh made to order. We had to wait a little since the place was only being run by one guy who was making food as the customers came in.
