A friend joined me for some airplane watching on a Sunday afternoon at this park. We ate crepes at the Hangar Café(highly recommend!) and then went across the street to the park. Besides the airplanes flying overhead, it was a peaceful and quiet few hours in the park. Also, the park was clean. It was a sunny, warm day, so we sat under one of the many trees for shade. There were three other people in the park watching airplanes, too. One man used a pair of binoculars. My friend and I enjoy airplanes and he thanked me several times for the experience. Yes, the RVs and vans are there. Yes, I saw a dog and its owner. The dog looked like s/he was in heaven, stretched out on the lawn. I will definitely return for more airplane gazing!

LAaaaaaaaaame park. I came here to maybe get a photo of an interesting plane landing at Boeing Field, but, there are low bushy trees that grow along the airport’s perimeter fence, so it’s almost impossible to get a good photograph of take-offs and landings. Also, there are anywhere from 3 – 6RV’s parked on the street along the park with people living in them, which makes me wonder if it’s a good idea to be hanging around with camera equipment. The only good thing about this park, is that it is a public place so you will not get hassled by security guards for strolling around with a camera this park.

Right at the end of the runway at Boeing field sits this small park. Other than the huge crowds who gather during the Blue Angels air show during Seafair, it is a very little used park. There have been occasional issues with RV dwelling drug dealers, but SPD gets in to clear them out every once in a while. There has been a movement to turn it, or parts of it, into an off-leash area. This would be fantastic as it has nicely manicured grass areas that many of the other off-leash parks lack. I prefer Oxbow Park(aka Hat and Boots Park) for sitting and reading, but Ruby Chow could really become a nice park if the criminal element were strongly discouraged from parking there.

Park is named in honor of Ruby Chow who is famous for helping out a young Bruce Lee while living in Seattle. Good small park if you want to do some light walking or checking out Boeing Field Airport. There is a small area for parking your car and checking out the Blue Angels and Boeing 777 jet.
