Retail Therapy

I don’t know how I haven’t written a review for Retail Therapy yet! This place is THE BEST. I think I first came here my first year of college (in 2004) immediately Wazhma was friendly and helpful. After a few visits she seemed to know exactly what I would like and would make recommendations (and she was ALWAYS right!). She has great taste and stocks her store with awesome and unique items. I don’t live in Seattle anymore, but whenever I’m in town I always stop by and ALWAYS leave with something great!

This store has great things and the owner is a doll!

I love this store. The owner Wazhma is super friendly and brings in cool items you won’t find at other stores. Mara, who works the sales counter is awesome at helping me find gifts for clients and friends. Love this store!

Retail Therapy is a fun, quirky little shop nestled in on Capitol Hill. The place has some great brands of soap, lingerie and other fun knick knacks.
They have a nice selection of designer canvas bags by the front door. Steve bought one of Michelle Obama riding on a swing. He saw that back in Denver and did not seize the opportunity to buy it at the time so I am glad he got a second chance to buy it. My motto is «If you don’t buy it when you see it then you won’t be getting it».
The staff here are nice and fun to chat with!

You will walk out with something fun! They have interesting clothes, underwear! Cards, jewelry, and body stuff!
I highly recommend stopping in and browsing their selection!

Wha? How did I not write this already?
This is my 100% first stop for any gifting. It’s got just enough to choose from without being too much to shop through. Cards, oh yes. Perfumey-​goodness? Yup. Jewelry that makes a ‘OH NO, I LOVE IT” gasp happen.
And underwear, sweet hot underwear, mon cherie.
Talk to the always lovely and smart as a whip sales staff, they know what to get your friends, lovers and those in between.

Really sweet little store with friendly employees. It’s a boutique, so it sells mainly cute, kitschy items, with what appears to be a burlesque makeup salon upstairs. Tight, colorful underwear for the men and women who like to strut their stuff. Tissue-​thin, transparent long-​sleeved Ts (I bought one and I love it), much like the ones J. Crew sells, but much less expensive and more contributing to the local economy.

SO MUCH CUTE STUFF omg! And nice smellies, and bamboo undies, and cute tiny Japanese figurines, and and and …

i’m a long tall drink of water w/​lots of curves to boot. Retail Therapy always has some great dresses and outfits that work for my body type. If you’re even remotely built like me you know how hard it is to find cute/​hot dresses that fit. Wazhma always keeps an eye out for clothing for all body types. If you can’t find it in the store just ask whoever is working to help you out. last time i was there i picked up two great dresses hand picked for me and my goodness are they bootylicious. Definitely a must stop for for that one of a kind find that actually flatters and fits.

Now, 3.5 stars alone for the Goe (pronounced like Goi) Oil that’s sold here: straight up essential oils in a tube. This stuff is essential awesome for anyone with nasty dry skin on any part of their body. When I want to turn my poor feet into something almost resembling feet in a high heel add, this stuff does the trick.
I recently (finally) got my tax returns figured out, and when I decided I needed to blow some cash and spoil myself a little, this is where I came. With my lovely Goe Oil and awesome good stinky candle I got a pair of sexy silk undies thrown in on the house courtesy of the owner. And the thing that I love even more is that they fit (!!!) — being over a size 16 and finding sexy lady under garments means when I have another few extra dollars to spend on such things I’m back here like little kids on cake.

Such a great little store! It’s cute and has things — lots of things. If you’re looking for a gift or something a little offbeat and original, you can’t go wrong here. Clothing sizes are Hipster Small, so nothing for me — which is a shame. But they make up for it with the men’s underwear shows — which I think is part of a guaranteed fun night out on the Hill. (If not for teh sexy, for teh lawls)
My only beef are the hours: not posted on the door or the website, so when I do want to irresponsibly spend some money it’s a real gamble as to when they’re open.

I have been coming here for years! They have many unique items that you won’t find at a department store. High quality products that last a long time, definitly worth the price! Plus, the employees make great suggestions and always give me thier honest opinion when I try something on.

I’ve bought a number of random items here– including hats, cards, my wallet, and suprisingly, the engagement ring for my fiancé! Retail Therapy always has just what you’re looking for– even if you’re not sure exactly what it is you’re looking for.
Razuma (the owner) is helpful but not overbearing. I love their selection of greeting cards– unique, local, and it’s my go-​to place for same-​sex occassion cards (weddings, babies, new houses, etc.)
They are definitley not the cheapest store in town but that’s a-​ok with me. Retail Therapy makes up for it with their participation in the local community, location, and great selection!
Also, lots of cute underwear for guys and girls.

I finally picked up the dress I had on layaway 2 Saturdays ago… and that was the day of my friend’s wedding. I know, I really procrastinated on picking up the dress (its one of those dresses you can tie into different looks) but Wazhma was so kind to help me tie on the dress. I got a lot of compliments at the wedding and if it weren’t for Wazhma’s assistance, I probably would’ve stuck with tying the dress in a halter. Muchas gracias Wazhma!

This is my new favorite store. The owner is just a delight — full of positive energy and knowledgeable about every piece of jewelry and clothing in the store.
The jewelry is beautiful and distinct and very well-​made. It’s unlike anything you’ll find elsewhere. I wanted to buy every piece in the store. And the clothing is unique and beautifully made.
I can’t recommend this store highly enough. I can’t wait to return…

I go to Wazhma at Retail Therapy anytime I need fabulous dresses that make a statement. Wazhma knows how to fit clothes for the artie working girl. Retail Therapy’s jewelery is some of the most unique in the city and is rumored to bring you luck, love and success…

They have things for men and women.
I walk by Retail Therapy often, it helps that I often get out of work late and most store are already closed. Couple of weeks ago I realized I was in need of more summer clothes that are not ironic t-​shirts, and I was able to get out of work at a regular time like 5pm. Retail Therapy carries a brand called Skunkfunk from Spain. Their clothes are mostly knit and beautifully constructed. The store owner then said the magic words: «Buy 3 get 1 free». It’s still not cheap, but it takes the sting off my wallet.
It helps that the store owner is really nice and will leave you alone to browse. She also does a great job curating items that you are not likely to find elsewhere without it being too outrageous.
They also have a small but lovely selection of greeting cards and gift wrapping kits.

Well, on the plus side, the people running it are really cool… and they’ve hosted some pretty awesome musical performances (like some of my friends’ 5 piece ensemble)… they have neat art, neat stuff that they clearly took some time in deciding to sell… and they are very willing to let you just come in, smell lotions, fondle candles, and giggle at the sillier pieces of «who on earth would wear… ohhhh I forgot, I’m in *that* part of town…»
On the minus, prices are higher than what a lot of other places charge for the same (or similar) stuff… it’s a bit forgivable given their primo location, but still… it’s ultimately window shopping at best for me, and sometimes, that is all I need to get my mind out of a funk. In other words, my budget and my already full of stuff home are kinda glad they charge a lot for a little. It means I don’t spend as much money and don’t clutter up my space so often. That said, if I had a friend in need (who likes to shop, that is, which most of my friends don’t actually enjoy)… this would be the kind of spot a gift certificate would not be scoffed at :)

Purchased my amazing Miz Mooz boots from Retail Therapy. Absolutely love Wahzma! She had to special order size 10’s for me and my big feet. The shoes rock and it always feels good to support a cool women-​owned local business.

My job is requiring me to wear flair to work for the month of February or as they deemed it the month of love. Yeah, I said FLAIR. The redeeming part of this is that I had an excuse to spend money on jewelry and other accessories (though they all had to be pink, red, etc. Whatever.) Anyways, Retail Therapy had lots of earrings, rings, necklaces and so on that fit the bill. With my flair needs taken care of, I browsed around the rest of the shop. I can’t say I was that impressed with the selection of clothes (only two full racks, maybe?). Plenty of cutesy, girly gifts that could warrant another stop, though.
