Renee was INCREDIBLY helpful getting my son to breast feed. We had numerous hurdles to overcome but with her patience and many years of expertise, she gave me the tools, and more importantly the hope, to continue. She is very gentle and offers many options and explanations in order to get my son to latch. It took time but with her continued support over several months we finally did it! Without her I don’t think I would be nursing today. Now my son is exclusively breastfed and a healthy, chunky monkey cause of it! I will forever be indebted to her!

Renee was recommended to me by my doula. During the first week after birth, I was having issues getting my newborn to latch on one side. Both baby and I were getting very frustrated and crying a lot. Renee was able to see us in our house on the very next day and showed me how to properly latch and refine my technique. She was very thoughtful, supportive, and super quick to respond to phone calls and emails. I went back to her once more at her drop-in group session and since then we’ve had no problems with nursing! I’ve recommended her numerous times to other moms who are having difficultly with nursing. As a note, our insurance(Regence UMP) paid for approx. half the visit and we had to file the lactation consultant forms ourselves – it was pretty straightforward but we did have to call insurance to figure out how to file it. Well worth it!

Several months after her birth, my daughter and I are still exclusively breastfeeding, which we owe all to Renee. I called Renee at the recommendation of several mom friends, who said she is a well-regarded Seattle expert on breastfeeding. Later, I learned my pediatrician’s office also regularly refers patients to her. She is very dedicated, replies promptly to messages, and will visit your home if needed. Without her home visit a couple of days after my daughter was born, I likely wouldn’t still be breastfeeding, due to unnecessary pain on my end. Fortunately, Renee immediately diagnosed some latching and tongue-tie issues, and provided a wealth of knowledge and resources. Most importantly, she was patient and compassionate. Check out her blog and Facebook page, too — She provides additional expertise online, and at local support groups. I wish I’d known about her after the birth of my son, who unfortunately didn’t get his latching issues resolved.

Renee was very patient and understanding with our breastfeeding issues. We saw her several times and she worked with us to find a solution. Without her help and support it would have been hard to continue nursing. With her help we were eventually able to nurse exclusively which is what I was hoping for. If you are having breastfeeding issues you need to see someone for help and support-this is essential and Renee is a great choice.

Renee is the lactation consultant I am working with for creating breastfeeding content on my upcoming website, and had I known she existed when I had my baby I would have booked time with her before and after delivery. She can make the difference on whether or not you are successful with breastfeeding(i.e. the most important thing you can give your baby). Do yourself a favor and get a consulation with her.
