I came here for lunch and got pasta + burger. The lunch menu seems to be limited but that was understandable. The food was alright as I haven’t seen anything that set it apart yet. Decoration was modern with a touch a real flower. Can’t go wrong with that. I rated it five star because of the service. The manager(?) saw us sharing a burger and brought out extra dishes without us asking. The pasta was too spicy for our taste and we were willing to pay for it but the manager waived it off for us. This gesture shows a genuine interest in our experience. I will definitely come back to try other dishes. Recommended!!!

My experience having lunch there was OK. I read the other reviews before posting here and it looks like ppl have a good time on happy hour. I went there on a Wednesday noon: the service was great and the ambience was as good as it can be. That starts my review w/some good stars. But I had a french beef burger and for me it felt too salty, killing the taste of the meat. Look, I’m a hardcore beef fan and cooked for 10+ people in my place in a single dinner. Salt in meat is like sugar in a lemon juice: too little doesn’t give character, but too much kills the taste(not to mention it isn’t very healthy). I think they put too much. I kept drinking water the whole day after that lol. For a single burger, the bill came down to ~$ 17(eighteen dollars). After taxes and tips went over 20 dollars. I think that was too high for a burger. I might check it out for happy hour and see what people are saying about it, but I think they need to improve their lunch menu.

This review is for brunch. We shared the tacos. The meat was greasy and needed salt. I thought the salsa and guac made up for it in flavor, my husband thought the queso fresco was what really tied it together. Either way, we agreed that while the individual components weren’t out of this world, once it was all together on the taco, the tacos were pretty good. Coffee was hot and readily refilled. Tacos could easily be split(with a side of toast — the homemade jam is fantastic!). Good prices, especially for SLU. It was, as Unilocal says, a-ok and I’m sure we’ll be back.

We were looking for a good happy hour spot that also served delicious bites on a Friday afternoon and were lured into re: public. Walking in, it immediately invites you with its sexy ambiance. It feels part loft-part modern warehouse-y. There are booths, hi-top tables by the bar, smaller sit-down tables overlooking Westlake Avenue(with large windows that open up) and a nice, long bar. Obviously with its extensive Happy Hour menu, Re: public is a perfect option for those post-work get togethers. We opted for some of the HH Washington local beer specials($ 5), House wine($ 6), and shared plates. I was most impressed with the multitude of dishes offered on happy hour at such an affordable price. We had soup($ 4), these amazing chicken wings with the entire wing($ 2/each), Charcuterie plate($ 2 off so $ 13 instead of $ 15 at HH), mussels — $ 11, and the pork belly baos($ 3/each). Everything was amazing-I Think we were particularly impressed with the chicken wings and mussels. We were anticipating these itty bitty chicken wings like at the sports bar, but these were double the size and more substantial with lots of nice, tender, fall-off-the-bone meat! In addition, the mussels were served in a hefty portion– really impressive during HH, but the tomato-garlic-ey broth was amazing. Overall, this seems like the perfect restaurant for any occasion– a work outing, dinner, casual Happy Hour, or even brunch. The menu is new American but they have their own unique items crafted, and the prices are very reasonable.

Went here for brunch– yummy food, nice staff and good ambience. Some good options for vegetarians and a vegan could get creative and be satisfied.

I have yet to be disappointed with the food, service or ambiance at Re: Public. Whether it be the delicious lunch options or amazing dinner menu, the food is always excellent. Last night I ordered the cauliflower appetizer and had the shrimp florentine which the chef was happy to switch out the pesto sauce for a tangy and flavorful red sauce. My boyfriend had the wild boar bolognese which was also rich and flavorful. We enjoyed a couple of Moscow mules and the fabulous service provided by Rachael. They are always have to accommodate a birthday table for drinks and/or dinner. It has become one our favorite Seattle spots!

I’ve been to re: public many times in the past for happy hour with co-workers, but only recently did I come here for dinner service. re: public is a huge restaurant with a full bar, so they can always accommodate a large group. I started off with one of my favorite drinks — a dark and stormy. They did a great job with the drink, but it was much stronger than I expected. I ordered the wild boar bolognese. The pasta is made in house and tasted like it was as well. It was simply amazing. Very delicious, hearty protein, rich sauce. I finished the entire dish and was sad that it was gone. I ended dinner with the mint chocolate chip ice cream. The ice cream is made in house as well. I don’t know if it was the lighting, but the ice cream was blue, which was odd. However, it tasted great. Unlike the bolognese, the ice cream serving size was large. Overall dinner was great. The food was excellent and service was prompt.

Great drinks and great food. Whiskey sour, they will shake the shit out of those egg whites to make you a nice frothy drink. Pretty delicious. And the main bartender is a really nice guy.

Nice, congenial, farm to table kind of place, in the South Lake Union area. A good population of diners but no crowding, which seems to be the normal situation in Seattle. A growing city with plenty of room for all. I sat at the bar and enjoyed the Baby Lettuces in Maple Vinaigrette, which were fresh, crisp, chewy, and interestingly flavorful, with the additions of poached pears and candied nuts. A good starter. The NY Strip was a tad disappointing, due to the fact the kitchen decided to slice the steak before serving it. It’s not described as sliced meat on the menu. I much prefer an unsliced cut of steak. And leave it on the bone, please. That’s half the pleasure of enjoying a steak — the tactility of handling the bone, of experiencing the textures of carbonized fat and pliant meat, of the juices running as you slice through the strip. All removed from the dish if you pre-slice the meat. I was also not a fan of the bed of risotto, on which the sliced steak was served. A bit gluey, for my tastes. Very friendly bartender, attentive and fun. He even got me an Über for my ride home. I liked the place. Would even try it again. But did not blow me away.

Came here for the first time. Food — average. We ordered three apps: bread with butter @ $ 3, Brussels sprouts — totally worth $ 9 but very small portion, and fries — big portion and cooked well. The bread was disappointing as it is literally plain bread with plain butter and the butter was not enough to cover the bread. It didn’t matter because no one ate more than one slice. The main entrees: burger is good. Comes w a lot of fries. The chicken dish — stay away. It’s very average chicken and mashed potatoes. The bolognase was good. Dessert: salted pretzel was the winner. Mint chocolate chip was a huge disappointment. We couldn’t finish it. When does not finishing ice cream happen? When it’s not good. Drinks — their menu isn’t updated so if it says it’s available, there might be a chance it’s not. Cocktails were yummy. Service — friendly staff. Parking — street. Prices — slightly high for the food.

Awesome modern bar, might as well have it five stars it just doesn’t stand out for any particular reason. Good crowd(typical Seattle? lots of dot. coms in the area, I see a lot of Amazon buildings). The wings were LARGER than expected! So ya the Happy Hour seamed to be a good value. 2 tvs had hockey on, good, and their whiskey selection could rival a whiskey bar, great service… what’s not to love? This place works for me!

Packed during happy hour, got seated right away though :) Hope this place will do well in SLU, as there aren’t many places in the area for evening hang outs. Our food options were quite good: mixed greens salad, roasted cauliflower, and fish & chips. The salad was dressed with a lite vinaigrette, pears, and candied walnuts. Roasted veggies are a favourite of mine and these were done well! Two small fried pieces on white fish topped a portion of fries with a side of slaw. The slaw was, eh… the fish and fries were great though. Great place and will definitely return.

Intimate, trendy place, somewhat quiet during happy hour/dinner, so it’s a good place for a date or to catch up with a friend. The drinks and handful of menu items I’ve had were very good. It’s nearby but I just don’t go often, so I’d say it’s a good option, but unremarkable.

Great energy during the happy hour, and the high tables and bar space are really fun. They have great bites too, interesting cheese boards, charcuterie, and other small eats. If anything, the fried marcona almonds are a must have, but beware, it’s hard to stop at just a few. Lunch is nice for a classy, and quick in and out meal. Great place to have business lunches too without going overboard on the price(reasonable for soups, sammies, burgers). It’s nice to eat near to windows, even if you’re only really looking at the traffic on Westlake. Have only done happy hours and lunches there, but dinner would definitely be next on my list to try.

I was not impressed with the staff. I was welcomed into the restaurants with all eyes on me but no verbal greeting. The wait staff barely spoke to me. I didn’t find them to be helpful in navigating the menu. Only one person staff spoke to me after I took a seat at the bar. The woman who served me water didn’t acknowledge my «thank you.» It felt a lot like an upscale old boys and gals club which makes me leery as a person from the south. I came in around 3pm on a Sunday hoping to have a desert but wasn’t offered a food menu. From the posted here I assumed they had a Sunday brunch. Guess I was wrong or perhaps it just wasn’t offered to me. Seattle has too many restaurants to settle for this kind of customer service. So I ordered a drink and got the hell out if this place. I know when I am not welcomed. The next time I am in the area, I will not include this place in my visit. Maybe the emptiness of the restaurant is a result of nonattentive servers.

Came in and it was pretty empty. We had been walking around, going into other bars looking for a decent joint to spend some time at. Didn’t expect much, but our opinions changed shortly after grabbing a stool at the bar. Bartender made the night. We had a great time talking with him, experimenting with different drinks and just hanging out. He gave us some tips on things to do locally, and after a few hours, we were off! I would def make this a regular hangout if I lived here.

This is a solid farm to table restaurant. We came in and enjoyed a wonderful dinner of scattered small plates. The way I love to eat, just keep the food coming and enjoy. You must try the roasted cauliflower, broccolini, bread with roasted garlic, elk tartare(Excellent!) and tonight was King Salmon for the fish entrée. Though all this may change tomorrow keeping with the fresh local theme. Everything was prepared and presented beautifully. My only comment was that the Chef is a little shy on seasoning. I applaud the letting the food speak for itself though at times it’s ok to give it a little kick start. Service was good and non obtrusive, that isn’t easy considering the untraditional service format that I chose. It’s impressive to see a restaurant that when I booked the table a few hours earlier they had ample reservation openings. Only to find out they were full upon arrival. Very cool and a great testament to running a true neighborhood establishment. Keep rocking!

I stopped by re: public this morning to meet a couple of friends for brunch, and was surprised to see that at 10:45AM, we were the only patrons. I hoped this wasn’t a reflection of the food, and thankfully, it wasn’t. Other patrons started to trickle in over the next hour. FOOD: I’m not an eggs benedict type of person, and I refuse to eat my eggs runny but I decided to go for the Crab Benedict. Re: public didn’t have any crab available so they substituted Arctic Char instead. I’ve never had crab benedict, or artic char for that matter, but wow, it was exquisite! At one point I forgot what I was eating and thought the char tasted a bit like honey ham. and who doesn’t like honey ham? I also ordered my eggs scrambled instead of poached.(Yes, I know this doesn’t make it a true benedict, but I don’t like eating chicken period.) Instead of using the traditional english muffin, they used a thick brioch toast(I think.) Since I’m not a fan of english muffins, I was quite delighted. A couple of my friends ordered the Fried Chicken & Biscuits and they all mentioned it was very tasty. If you’re a coffee drinker, the stuff is super strong here — FYI! SERVICE: Service by our waitress was A+! The bartender with the thick beard was good natured, and even laughed when he heard me mentioning that men in Seattle are letting their beards get out of control and I. DON’ . I’m glad I ventured into re: public and will definitely add this restaurant to my brunch rotation.

Tout était impeccable ! Le porc d’un copain n’était pas bien cuit et la serveuse l’a donne qqch d’autre sans le lui avoir demandé.
