QFC Quality Food Center

This is my review this week. QFC, do you think you could sell fresher bread? I am so tired of buying a loaf of bread, making a sandwich and once the air hits the bread it turns hard on the outside. This means the bread is not fresh. I like fresh sandwiches. The produce is good, the meat, while pricey, is usually good. The store is small but convenient. I just want fresh bread! It may not be expired, but it’s always at the end of it’s shelf life. Please don’t make me drive to Safeway.

This is a much smaller QFC than the one located in the University village but even though it is condensed, they still have an ok selection items. We buy most of our lamb here as they carry high quality products. The produce section is fairly small but if you are just stopping in for a few things, it is alright. I do wish they had a self check section for when you would judt like to quickly get in and out but I have never had to wait too long in line so this hasn’t caused much of an issue.
The best part? They have a large parking lot and there is a REDBOX located right in front.

Best cashiers! Very friendly and helpful. Seems like most have been there for years, so that speaks to good management and work environment. Keep up the good work Wedgwood QFC!

This QFC is ok, not my favorite– I rarely go here unless I forgot something. It feels more like a convenience store. It is small, which shouldn’t be a problem, since I have been living in a city shopping at small grocery stores for the last couple of years. It is so small that the checkers just yell to whoever is on the floor if they need a replacement or another one or to ask if we are out etc. I don’t mind that at all. What I do mind is there is always a line and for some reason, I can’t ever find anything. In a store this small, you’d think it would be easier, but for some reason, it’s like looking in the back of a very cluttered closet for one glove. Impossible.

Quaint and cozy in the middle of Wedgewood, it is perfectly situated in the Wedgewood plaza just north of the Wedgewood broiler. It’s smaller as most grocery stores go, but well stocked, well lit and the cashiers are super friendly (which you don’t always see). You’ll always be able to find something on sale here, and the produce and meat looked fresh and viable. Actually this place is just soooo cute ah… it has somewhat of a dollhouse feel to it, and it doesn’t give off the warehouse or aircraft hanger vibes that the bigger stores do. QFC, Kroger and Fred Meyer, among some other stores not in this area, are all part of the same family and there products are just as good or better than the name products that sell for twice (or more) as much.
QFC is alright by me.

This isn’t my favorite QFC — I’d rather go to the U Village location, because there is more parking there and the store itself is just huge. This one’s okay for some things, but I don’t find the selection to be nearly as good, and the parking situation is quite frankly, horrible. I also feel a bit cramped the whole time I’m in the store — no space! Still, it is a much smaller location and fine enough for picking up the thing I forgot on the way home.

This QFC is ok, but it’s so small, which is kind of a disappointment, especially from a huge chain. If it were a small, neighborhood-​run store, I guess I wouldn’t mind as much. Still, sometimes I find myself in a rush and stop by on my way home on 35^th. Several times I’ve been there, they’re been out of produce items (basil, arugula, etc.) Their deli is teeny tiny compared to the U-​Village QFC not that much farther away. The meat section isn’t big, either. Somehow, their wine section is still pretty decent. Check the big sign in the parking lot to see what the specials are for that time. The cashiers are always friendly and quirky. The parking lot is a little tight at times so be careful getting in and out of here.

Its a QFC. A QFC that went into the washer and came out seriously shrunk. It probably does not have everything. The butcher section is tiny. Not a great selection of seafood. However the folks at the register are really nice. And you don’t have to spend an hour in here looking for somebody to help you out.

I LOVE my QFC!!! I can walk here in less than 5 minutes. It’s my «go to» store when I need something last minute for supper. Since QFC is now a part of the Kroger family their prices are much better than they used to be. Love all of the checkers that work here especially Danyo. He is always smiling & chatting with the customers. Love that they have a lot of the small size carts. I only don’t give it 5 stars because a 5 star QFC is the U-​Village QFC. :)

This QFC is smaller than most, but still has a good selection of items when you need to stop somewhere close to home.
I’m writing this review in particular because my husband was there today and forgot his wallet — the cashier said «Ok, just put your cart to the side» and he came home to get the wallet. He said when he got back, she had rung everything up and bagged it for him! How nice! It made a stressful situation much nicer for him. And it makes me much more likely to go back there — good service is a huge plus in my book.

I like this QFC, the staff seem friendly but not buddy buddy like they are at Safeway. And the produce is good but the meat selection is a little sparse. In the perfect world though, I would take the checkers at the Safeway down the street and put them into this store. Then the 5 stars would be acheived.

This is my local QFC. I go here often. So why go here often if I am only giving it 2 stars? The answer: because its close and «good enough».
My major «issues» with this QFC is:
* Really crappy cheese section. No quality soft cheeses at all.
* Small butcher/​fish section
Things they do well:
* Packing a bunch of stuff in a small place — most of the essentials are here.
* Packing in extras like flowers and decent deli section

The cashiers here are slooooow and not very friendly (I’d even call them borderline rude). Though it is more convenient to where I live, the extra walk down to Safeway is worth it.

I love my new neighborhood QFC. I cannot say that about any of my previous neighborhood QFCs. This one has nice people who talk to you and tell you how cute your kid is. The patrons smile and don’t jam up the aisle. The produce is always stocked and decent enough for a QFC. It’s a small one, but they have fresh sushi and yummy pre-​made and specialties sections. The prices are a bit much, but it’s within walking distance from my house, so I bear that in mind.
The parking and entrance situation are messed up, though. There are three parking entrances and, in Seattle, this is two too many. People get confused and then pedestrians get involved — it can be frightening. The in-​out doors to the store only fit one person through at a time and the shopping carts are parked along the in-​out walkways. This creates a gauntlet and people have to yield. Wedgwoodies seem polite enough where this works out, but I have been party to confusion when patrons weren’t paying attention. You also have to watch out when you walk into the store because people are coming out and the corners are blinded by cases full of flowers and stuff. I’m cautious because I usually have a stroller, but some people are trying to fly in and out, and that won’t do.

I just went to the QFC in the U Village Shopping Center. I like it so much more than this one. Much larger selection, cleaner… and hanging out in the Starbucks is nice on a warm day like today.

I went here often when I first moved back to Seattle. I was staying nearby.
I liked the flowers outside and the openness of the fruits and vegies upclose in front. It is small and crowded. I had strange encounters with produce folks. I found everything I needed in reason.
My discussions with the cashiers were stellar, funny, human, understanding. I have a warm spot in my heart for this store — I woudl honestly say because of the flowers and the friendly cashiers. 2 women who remembered me after my first time through!

It has been quite some time since I last reviewed the QFC store in Wedgwood. My review back in 2006 was a rather harsh review of the establishment, and I stand by my assessment of that supermarket for 2006.
Today I decided that I was feeling too lazy to walk the 8 blocks to the local Safeway which is where I’ve been doing my shopping for the past 2+ years, so I decided to give QFC another shot at having at my dollars.
I walked into the store expecting to see the same old environment along with the same old people, but I was pleasantly surprised to find out that the store itself appears to be staffed with all new people, and also, it looked like the store had experienced a complete makeover within the last year.
I went to the deli to get coffee and was greeted by a pleasant person behind the counter pleasantly asking me how he could help me? I ordered a coffee, and then took a tour around that store. The store itself had a new feel to it, and there were a host of new products at the store that just 2 years ago you would have never seen in Wedgwood. The deli, the meat department, and the fruits and vegetable areas of the store had been totally remodeled. The working staff were very friendly, and very helpful.
It really seems to me that this QFC is a different animal from the one I reviewed 2 years ago. They seemed to have removed all the workers there who had attitude problems, and replaced them with pleasant, human beings who only wanted to make your shopping experience a good one so you would come back. I have to admit, I am impressed by this new QFC, and recommend it to anyone visiting this area. it really seems like this store got its act together.

A nice little QFC in Wedgwood.
QFC tends to be a tad pricey. So I usually don’t like to go unless I want to make a special meal. But the only grocery store in the area is Metropolitan (ultra pricey) or Safeway (unsafe produce). QFC wins by default.
They do have a wonderful selection of fresh flowers and beautiful produce. I was happy with the selection of meat but was sad there was no deli case or fresh meat case. At least the meat they do have is fresh and tasty.
They do have a little coffee and bakery. The variety seemed alright but nothing that blew me away. But living so close to Top Pot and Grateful Bread makes up for it.
The employees are quite nice here. Never had a problem with them. It’s also great to be so close to the drugstore. It really helps get errands done quickly.
