Prost is the absolute best beer spot in west seattle. From the warm and friendly environment to the delicious beers on tap, this is the place to gather or relax. Gretchen provides exceptional service. You’re in good hands here.

I think this is a great neighborhood pub with a very German flare! They have nice outdoor seating out back and in front. They are kid and dog(outside) friendly! They have a good selection of German beers(not my favorite type of beer hence the 4 stars). They have a nice food selection and good service. We were there during Oktoberfest and it was very festive! We will plan to take our family and friends when they are craving german beer or food!

I’m not sure how this place gets such good reviews. We came in last Saturday during the USA soccer game for some beers and a little bit of food. The bar was not that busy, but my husband and friend waited in line to get served for about 15 minutes. There was another waitress, but she was too busy running around the bar with screaming kids instead of taking care of the paying customers. I mean, instead of running around with the kids, she could have been making money serving our table… It makes me feel better that this is not the first review to mention the screaming kids. It is so off-putting for a supposedly good bar to allow this. I honestly couldn’t even believe it. I gave the waitress a dirty look once, and she didn’t even seem to care that she was being obnoxious. Oh, that means she saw us without drinks too and didn’t really seem to care. We ended up leaving after 20 minutes of being ignored. It was my husband’s birthday, and he really wanted German food but he did not want to waste his time there any longer. Guess I’ll never get to know if their food is any good. We decided to drive down the street to The Bridge instead, where we were treated much better, quicker, and made us regret even trying to go to Prost in the first place. That reminds me, I need to go give The Bridge a 5-star review…

Good beer selection ! Food was so so but not really tasty. We sat on the terrace & despite plenty of personnel we had to order at the bar & get take out the drinks ourselves = no service !

Maybe it’s my German lineage, or maybe I’m biased, but this place is awesome! Great beer, great servers, authentic food.

I just spent a week in Seattle visiting my son and daughter-in-law, this is their local hangout. We went the first night I was there. I got the beet salad. OMG that was so amazing! I’m not a beer drinker but my son is almost through his 2nd punch card and getting his patch. We went back again Thursday night for his best friends birthday. We had a great time, the bartender seemed to know the great majority of them by name, food was great, beer was great. I would recommend anyone visiting West Seattle and want something slightly off the beaten path, check out Prost! You won’t be disappointed!

Very fun local pub with lots of German beer choices served in the real German glasses. Don’t expect anyone to speak German or for the food to be more than German inspired. But the staff is friendly, the crowd is lively, and there’s always a great time here. Usually Boppin. Cool spot. Very cool.

We stopped in on our pub crawl, but this just isn’t our scene. Good beer, just can’t really relate to the people.

Great atmosphere and chill crew. They stay on top of it making sure you are never waiting for a refill on your drink. They’re food is very authentic German and is pretty decent but it’s definitely more of get a fat mug of beer or a healthy glass of wine kinda joint. Their jack Daniels infused with cinnamon and raisins tastes like a fruitcake and puts fireball to shame. Prost is a great spot to enjoy a beer friends.

We like this place but the food is sketchy. Last evening was the first time I have left a $ 1 tip. How can a waitress see that the beer is not drank, the food is not eaten, and not ask what the problem was? The brats were ok but not hot and seemed to have been in the lukewarm water for far too long, they did not taste fresh. The pretzel was hard a a rock and you could hardly bite into it. We will go here again because we do like it, but if these issues are not corrected we will leave a more specific review.

Proper beer selection, at a very premium price, but no real kitchen for food– If rating this as strictly a German beer bar — 4 stars, if rating this as a pub/restaurant 2 stars.

Great neighborhood pub, with a true«local» feel. Local brews, full bar, wine, you name it. Wait staff that know your name(sound familiar?), soft pretzels fresh out of the oven. Tiny little spot with awesome benches/tables that all feel hand crafted. A bunch of locals that all know each other. My biggest issue — there’s really nothing to eat(other than pretzels and a salad) if you’re Veggie. In 2014, that seems a bit cray cray to me(I don’t care if it’s German or not, I’ve spent weeks in Berlin and found *lots* of veggie food). If these guys considering fixing up the menu(hello, at least a sandwich or something?!), I’d give them 5 stars. Bummer.

Oh Prost! I stopped in here again recently, it’s been a while since I last visited. It’s really a great place. They immediately get your order for one of many many nice European beers. The folks at the bar are always nice and the food is fast and good. This visit I noticed that it’s a preferred place to watch a Seattle Sounders soccer game, but not without some controversy with the local football crowd. Be well my friend Prost, be well.

I tried to like this place, I tried real hard. I sat down ordered a German beer and some kind of sausage plate and then waited patiently. I watched the obligatory soccer on the blaring TVs, listened to the screaming children who scrame unhindered by any adult supervision. I watched large soccer hooligans arm wrestle at the bar and marveled at how that is actually a thing in the 21st century. Finally, after a half hour and one beer, I flagged down my server and told her that I would like to cancel my order. «What order?» was her response. Well, if I ever feel like sitting down for another round of beef cakes and sausage plates, I may go back here but for now, I’m good.

I’ve been to Germany a couple of times over the years. I like to remember those trips, because I had a great time. Berlin was sweet as was Heidelberg and Trier… but, as time goes on, and memories fade– it’s hard to keep those memories fresh and alive through the twilight of time. Well, I gotta say Prost! West Seattle certainly helps those memories stay alive. Warm folks, warm atmosphere, great patio, and great bier help keep Deutschland close to the heart. The only downside is the location– and this is a TYPICAL West Seattlite complaint. I live near the junction which is not that far away, but there are so many options within walking distance that I usually forget(see I’ve got memory issues going on here or something) about Prost! That’s no fault of theirs, the world doesn’t revolve around me… ANYHOO…when I DO have the old noggin working right, and I DO remember Prost, I’m so glad. So take a trip down memory lane… well, if you’ve been to Germany… or even not… Okay, what the heck am I talking about now, this is just a saga now. How do you get to Germany? Just drive down California and Prost!

This review is solely based on service. We sat in the back of the venue, and my friend brought along his baby in a stroller. I’m not sure if we didn’t get much service because it was busy, or because we sat in the back and were forgotten about, or they were discriminating against babies in strollers? Well, it took FOREVER for us to receive our drinks. And it took INIFNITY for an order of a pretzel to even come out(I was thinking that maybe they were rolling the dough from scratch, or milking a cow??). My friend also asked for another beer, and this never even came. This is a place with great ambiance, and seems like a super fun place to enjoy a drink, with the lively atmosphere. However, the service is definitely lacking big time…

This is a lovely, low key German pub in West Seattle. The beer selection is really great. Food is somewhere between a 3 and 3.5 stars TBH. Also a great place to watch world cup matches. There are two televisions and beer garden style picnic benches.

Stop 1 in my Seattle trip. I came here for some beer after my flight with a friend who lived close by. This place is what I imagine a German Pub to look like in Germany. Beer: 5 Stars***** To be honest, I don’t remember the names of the beer that I tried because they were all in German. I do remember Oktoberfest! All 3 beers that I tried were all very good. If I lived in the area, I could definitely see myself being a regular here. Food: 4 Stars **** Pretzel was delicious and it went well with the two types of mustard that was provided. I came here after 10 so the kitchen was closed, so I couldn’t Try anything else except the pretzel. Service: 5 stars***** They’re so friendly here! I was offered a free beer and he gave us a tasting of one of his favorite beers because I wasn’t sure which one I should order for my next round.

If you love German beer this is your place! The bartender was so helpful in giving recommendations! Everything I tried was great! Love that you can order different sizes! Service was kinda slow so we ended up moving to the bar(quicker service). The pickles they have are amazing! Can’t wait to come back and try a pretzel!

We tried Prost! this afternoon for lunch. Great selection of beers, and plenty of food options(Salads /Sandwiches) — it’s a bar people! There was one girl running the place. We were right in at 1pm — and in less than 20 minutes, there were 15 people in the bar! They really could use another hand when it gets this busy! This is why I took away one star. They appear to be one of a four location German Pub/Bar chain around Seattle. I look forward to trying the other locations.
