History

Established in 1995.

In business since 1995, Professional Medical began by supplying Incontinence Supplies to individuals in care facilities. The focus was to supply quality products with a stress on the personal service we have since become known for. As time went by, we began to offer other products to meet the needs of our clients. We currently serve over 2,500 clients a month who live in either long term care facilities or their own homes. Our goal has been to become a one-​call provider of medical supplies for our valued clients. One of the many steps we have had to take to accomplish this goal is to become contracted providers with our client’s various insurance carriers. In 2008 we chose to become an accredited organization, agreeing to uphold strict guidelines that apply to every facet of our business. Our retail location was designed to allow those in the Seattle area a place of business to purchase items relating to home health medical supplies. We are a woman owned and operated company.

I believe that everyone involved in the medical field has a personal connection and deep feelings to do their part to help. Our story starts with my grandparents, both long time healthcare veterans, who pioneered many changes in the nursing home industry. We grew up hearing stories of the attention and care that they provided their clients, from instituting serving healthy and tasty food according to each client’s needs to having challenging and interesting activities so that clients were involved and inspired.

My grandmother had medical complications in her 60’s and needed to start using the very medical supplies and equipment that she had been ordering for her clients. I learned a lot from her over those years– her fierce need for independence, her commitment to continue living her life to the fullest and never giving up. My husband and I started our home medical supply company around that time and saw firsthand that same, burning desire in many of our clients and their families.
