Pike Place Bakery

Worst cannoli ever. Tasted like cheap frosting in a taco shell. Lady behind the counter looked unhappy to be there and it shows in their product. Waste of $ 5 but worth the lesson learned.

HUGE baked goods that are tasty and not fancy. I love the cheddar cheese bread ($ 6) and cinnamon walnut rolls ($ 9). The cake slices are gigantic as are their cream puffs and it’s your standard country-​style Dutch bakery that is definitely not diet friendly. Still, that cheddar loaf is amazing and delicious served toasted or just plain.

A hidden little gem in the Pike Street Market. Very delicious pastries, but only go here if you are looking to pack on calories and gain weight. These are the danishes that fishermen need to survive on the water. It goes with out saying that this place is All-​Madden!

Terrible cannoli. The bread was soggy and the cream was warm. It tasted old. We took two bites and threw it away.

I can only speak for the chocolate cream cheese cinnamon roll — sooo good! Everything else looked super yummy as well!

First canoli. Ever! Weeeee! Not too shaby. Kinda sweet. But that’s to be expected with any pastry.

Highly sugared but extremely attractive looking pastries. I’ve tried several sweets and was not impressed with any. The cannoli’s in particular were grossly sweet. Just keep walking… unless you want a sugar bomb…

Was eating my way through Pikes Place and saw this towards the beginning. «Hmm I will have to come back and get dessert here» I mused. When my friends and I were about to leave we went back and I claimed my cream cheese frosted cinnamon roll prize. Since I was too full from the previous eats I actually saved it and had it for breakfast the next day. T’was scrumdidilyomptious! My only gripe was the gal working the counter. A little cold, but I do realize we have our moments. I’m already looking forward to trying more of their selections! A great sweet addition to the market, and great prices!

Daughter and I were in the mood for some sweets while walking around Pikes Place.
Great little place with descent selection of baked goods and sweets.
We got a cream puff and two different type of cannoli’s.
The cream puff was totally amazing and should of gotten more.
The cannoli’s were a bit too sweet but good.
The staff were very busy and there was no real line.
We did get served but it took a little longer than we hoped.
If in the area stop by for a cream puff as it is definitely worth it.

Their Texas-​sized donuts are easily my favorite part of going to Pike Place. I have to get one every time I’m there. I usually eat part of one, then save the rest for later, or split it with someone. A Texas chocolate donut is my go-​to, but they also have pretty yummy cinnamon rolls.
Aside from their giant donuts, their other donuts and pastries are also oversized. Definitely not somewhere you should go if you just want a small sweet fix. But if you want a donut the size of your hed, Pike Place Bakery is the place to go.

$ 1.75 day old cinnamon roll was pretty delicious for being day-​old. Their other baked goods were far too big to digest but the cinnamon roll (no topping, just brown sugar (was on par in terms of texture, denseness, chewiness, sweetness, and breadiness.

I grew up in Orange County, CA and when I was young, I would get divinity cookies from Pavillions when I was out grocery shopping with my mom. These were always my favorite cookies, but after awhile… they were no longer found in their bakery.
Several years ago, I found Pike Place Bakery and noticed they had cookies that looked exactly like the ones from when I was a little girl… they even tasted exactly the same! I instantly fell in love and now make it a point to come here every time I’m in Seattle!
I just got back from a trip there and stopped by three times. The only divinities I saw this time were almond, chocolate chip, mocha-​something, and then butterscotch. I was super bummed that they didn’t have my favorite… the mint chocolate chip. I asked the lady working during my first stop if they still made them and she looked in the case and said yes, but they must have been out. I must add that she was super sweet as she gave my hubby and I the three cookies we ended up ordering for free!
During my trip, I had all the available divinities except for the mocha. The chocolate chip has always been my second favorite so I thoroughly enjoyed the 2 or 3 of those that I had. I am a big almond fan, but the almond flavor was a tad too strong with the almond one, but the almond pieces in there were enjoyable. The butterscotch surprised me. I was nervous it would be too sweet, but I actually really liked it.
I also tasted a super yummy snickerdoodle, chocolate dipped coconut macaroon, and the coconut almond dream cookie. They were all pretty amazing.

My sunny afternoon was assaulted by the poor excuse for cannoli being sold at the Pike Place Bakery. I should have known better — there were piles of them pre-​filled in the display case. Most self-​respecting bakeries fill them to order so that the shell doesn’t get soggy. Ignoring my better judgment, I dove in, and was surprised when I bit in to find not a cannoli, but rather a soggy shell filled with… buttercream icing!!!
Cannoli is not to be stuffed with buttercream icing! Jesus what a disappointment! Cannoli should be stuffed with custard or mascarpone. And for ~$ 4 each? Terrible. Just terrible.

Baked goods and I have a love/​hate relationship, I love them but they hate me enough to increase my waistline.
The baked goods here are no exception. I toiled for a few mins then decided on Mint Chocolate Chip Divinity. It was almost as if I was eating a minty ball of silk, no I don’t know what silk would taste like if it were dipped in a minty concoction but still that’s what came to mind.
The service was fast-​paced and on point. Guess it depends on the day judging by Monica B’s review. I was quite pleased and was asked where I got my treat while walking elsewhere in the market.
Next time it’s going to be an éclair!

I went to Pike Place Bakery last week and I was quickly reminded why I don’t go there more often.
Picture two women behind the counter. Now, picture them ignoring you. That’s pretty much what happened to me. Again. Basically, my child wanted donuts and they looked really, really, really good. I was on the north side of the counter. Woman #1 was helping someone on the other side. Woman #2 was standing in front of the counter where I was — looking right at me. As I began to say something to her, Woman #2 moved deeper into the depths of her space. Strike one. Okay, fine. I decided to go to the other side of the counter, you know, where Woman #1 was. As I neared the counter, Woman #1 walked towards the back of the space to talk to Woman #2. Strike two. After that, they proceeded to talk and finally we had to say something. Strike three. Honestly, if my child didn’t want something, I would have left.
I have to admit that I am baffled. In my experience, bakers and those who work at bakeries in Seattle have always been super friendly. I would settle for plain old, everyday friendly from these ladies. I’m sure they don’t need my money as they must do brisk business (there was no one there besides my group and the one other person that was helped before us).
In terms of the product, the baked goods are very good and come at a reasonable price. Many people rave about the Texas sized donuts but I’ve never had occasion for one quite that big. The selection is wide an varied and surely has something anyone would love.
Sadly, I’d rather spend twice as much money for a decent product and acceptable levels of customer service. I guess it will be another six months before I try Pike Place Bakery again.

The people who work here are busy, so don’t expect too many smiles. But their rolls are fresh, crusty on the outside and soft inside. Their donuts range from good to very good – try the strawberry-​filled cream cheese topped, or their buttermilk cherry.
They also take Amex at any amount which is a boon when you’re grabbing a couple of dozen for friends.

Wow. I waited for such a long time while the lady behind the counter flirted with her customers. When I finally got the lady’s attention after her other customers left, I simply asked her what the name of an item behind the window was. She kind of yelled at me and told me to look at the bottom shelf then walked away.
I can’t vouch for the taste of their baked goods because I didn’t want to support their attitude. She also never gave me the time of day to order.

Okay, so I am probably a cheap loser, but don’t do the «day old» section. Cheddar jalepeno rolls were passable, and cheap enough I don’t feel entirely ripped off, but still. Croissants were a good value, too, but some bites being more salty and some being almost sweet, others being normal, buttery croissant-​ness was really strange. I don’t think a fresh croissant would have changed that. Yuk.
Good news is their fresh baked goods are still yummy! Child devoured a mint divinity and frosted shortbread with nonpareils.
