Good Divey regulars bar but friendly to newcomers. Some days they have Greek Pizza. Get it.

We stopped in here when we were looking for cabinets. We just got some hummus and pita, and some chicken strips and fries, and all of it was delicious! The décor and overall feel isn’t great, but it’s an old place in the industrial area… what do you expect? Give it a try. Awesome food!

The gyro I had was quite possibly the worst I’ve had and I have had my share. The hummus tasted good and the pita that came with it was great, but the consistency of the hummus was too thick. My fiancé found a piece of a metal wire grill cleaner in her gyro which was not great. The place smells like an old casino and the décor leaves something to be desired. If you are looking for a great gyro this isn’t the place.

This has been restaurant is tired. The Gyro I had was sub-par, and the atmosphere was 1950s, but without charm. I had expected better, so I won’t be going back. Since it shared a name, and presumably an owner, with the Pike Place Market Mr D’s, I’d expected it to be much better. Maybe there’s so much turnover at the market that the stand there has fresher food — not sure, but I like the stand in the Market, and don’t like the restaurant at South Lander at all.

The food hit the spot, but the spot was not a hit. It’s actually a shame, because with a little face-lift and a few more staff members, I’m sure their business would be booming. It is located next to the Starbucks headquarters building — a building with over 3,000 people — and yet there was only two other people in the restaurant during the lunch hour. That should tell you something. I waited for about two or three minutes to be greeted, scanning the menu in the meantime. Finally, a nice woman emerged from the back and asked me what I’d like to order. Mind you, I hadn’t been seated yet. I asked for one of their specialty sandwiches, and she told me that the entire«specialty sandwich» section is actually being removed from the menu and therefore is no longer being offered. Alright. I ordered a cheeseburger with no tomatoes or onions and a diet coke. Easy enough, right? After I got seated, the food was brought out in a timely manner, complete with tomatoes and onions. I told the waitress it was more than OK, but she felt the need to justify the error by blaming the kitchen staff for not reading her ticket properly. Very unnecessary… The food was delicious, but everything else just seemed to fall short. The soda was flat, there were bugs constantly flying around my food, and they actually re-use the ketchup bottles. I included a picture of mine — one with a moldy/rusted/sticky cap. Overall, if you go, maybe just stick to the gyros and keep an open mind about the atmosphere. All it would take is a few upgrades and this place could be the go-to place for lunch.

I love their gyros! They are a walkable distance from my work, and the prices are great! The décor inside is definitely divey, but I’ve been here several times and gotten good service every time!

For a place that advertises«Best Yeeros in Seattle» on the outside of the building, I wasn’t really impressed. I’ve had a lot of roasted meat in my day and there was nothing to distinguish this from the others. I’m really curious how this place pays the bills. At noon on a workday I was one of two people eating there, and the other guy obviously knew the proprietors. This place is in SoDo, i.e. industrial area, and the atmosphere is similarly old and musty. A genuine dive. The credit card machines were down and everything had to be done by hand. The tv was blaring in the bar(Family Feud) and was the only sound in the place. It just overall was not a very pleasant place to spend a lunch hour. Greek fries were pretty good actually, the gyro was just ok. As I said, nothing really made it stand out. With the low customer count, it made me wonder how fresh that meat is. As soon as the«chef»(obviously one of the owners) was done cooking my meal, he sat down at one of the booths with his laptop doing paperwork since there was obviously nothing to do in the kitchen. I can’t really see any reason to come back here.

Best Dive Lounge period. 5 stars for anyone with a fetish for time capsules. I went in last night and discovered he’s making home made Greek pizza, sour doe crust completely by scratch. its definitely one of my new favorite pies.

The lounge is a perfect time capsule of 1979 décor. Velvet walls, wood paneled tables… Seattle doesn’t have enough genuine old school dive bars, and this place is legit as it gets. The happy hour is especially recommended; cheap drinks and small plates from 3 to 7 pm. If you sit in there long enough and you’re lucky, Mr. D might come give you a flamenco guitar lesson.

Kinda divey but that’s what you want in SODO right? The services is good even when the bar is packed. Well mixed drinks and great beer on tap. Good HH specials along with super greek food that I cant pronounce… You cant go wrong here, unless you come in drunk already… Daily specials not on the menu — home cooked greek food.

Woah! low down dive, like old Seattle dive bars pre 1994. Still smells of stale cigarette smoke or is it something else? Shouting and unseen drunk men echoing from the bar as I wait for my Gyro and fries. The food is OK but I think I’d be better off going to the Open air stand in the Pike place Market if ever eating Mr D’s greek again.

I hate to say that after returning to this place after 6 years, I was very disappointed. I used to eat here years ago for lunch and now have returned to the area for my work. The service was very slow and the food was not fresh. :-(I will go back but only to sit at the bar for happy hour in hope that they can at least make a decent drink.

Awesome Greek fries. Very nice staff! Full bar and happy hour. Tv’s in the bar. Affordable food, I had the Gyro with feta fries. Leaving full and happy– right next to the Starbucks corporate office.

Life lesson: nothing is as good as New York food. I’ve been searching the streets of Seattle for good Gyros. I was super excited when I stumbled into this little joint. Food: I got their traditional gyro with fries [covered in feta cheese] and the fries were perfection. The gyro was not what I expected. The gyro was way salty. I couldn’t fully enjoy any part of the gyro because the salt was that present. I would not get a gyro here again. Service: The waitress was nice, she recommended her favorite foods. She brought me water quickly and she was always there if I needed anything. Average service overall. Cleanliness: Fruit flies. Hair and smudges in my water cup. Subbpar.

Also known as Mr. D’s. Cash only. The interior needs a lot of TLC. It’s outdated and not welcoming at all. Every time I walk past around lunchtime, there’s very few people sitting in. As for the food, I had the classic gyro sandwich which came with a salty tzaziki sauce and oddly spiced meat. On top of that, I opted for a salad instead of French fries, and was treated to three slices of a tomato and some shredded leaves. Not a good experience at all.

My husband and I chose to eat here simply because not other eatery(besides fast food) was open on a Saturday afternoon. The food was tasty but the service left something to be desired.

This spot is a super chill dive bar in SoDo! Wandered in here on the morning of a game day, and had a delicious gyro with perfectly-salted(and very crunchy) feta fries. Washed it down with a glass of Manny’s, breakfast of champs right? The bartender and server were friendly and attentive. And even though the bar area is truly a dive, it was clean enough. The bathrooms are clean and the bar area has plenty of seating. Yay! I’m a fan!

Great Gyros, but the restaurant could use a good scrub down. Very friendly staff as well. I was the only one in the restaurant at the time though, and apparently the second visitor of the day. But it WAS late on a Saturday, so it’s expected for any restaurant to show lower numbers. If you’re in the area, try the gyro. It’s tasty!
