Peter Tran Auto Repair

On a Sunday before MLK Day, my check engine light went on and my car started running very, very poorly. I called around to all the franchise places like Firestone and the like to see if they might be able to get me in that day or the next day. None of them were able to give me a guarantee beyond «drop your car off and we’ll see if we can get to it.»
On Monday, MLK Day, I started reviewing other alternatives. Lo and behold, I found Peter Tran. His shop was open, and he said that he’d take a look at it as soon as I brought it in. I was able to drop the vehicle off, get a quote that was much lower than I was expecting it to be, and have the vehicle back to me within three or so hours. ON A HOLIDAY.
He did great work. He saved me a lot of money. He did the work on a holiday. He was prompt, professional, friendly and easy to deal with. There’s no doubt that I’ll be using him if anything else happens to my car.
Give Peter a try. Not the best neighborhood, but some of the best service you can get!

I’ve started going to peter since 2012 because my moms has always had him work or her car. Peter is the type of mechanic that doesn’t try to con you to get more money. Everytime I go him and his beautiful wife ask how I’ve been and about my mom, and how’s school going. He lets me know what repairs need to be done asap and which can wait and for how long. I’m the type of person that ask how long i can wait, what are the safety risk when waiting etc. He never has a problem with answering my questions even when i ask him a lot back to back.
I always get a two second opinions on repairs that i need on my car and everytime I have they tell me the same thing peter says is wrong, so after so many years I just learned to trust peter. Plus the other auto shops always tell me theres some magical problem with my car addition to the second opinion I’m getting (rolls eyes). I’m an hands on type of girl if its something i can learn to fix on my own i will so if I’m going to a auto shop I have to trust they’ll do a good job and I don’t trust easily but i trust peter, It didn’t come easy. If you haven’t already you have to try him, there’s a reason he has such high ratings.

Not a happy customer. After reading reviews and being referred by a friend, I decided to go a cheaper route and get my breaks done through Peter. I usually get all my work done at the dealership. I actually took two vehicles to him. One for breaks and one for the car for idoling high. After getting both front and back breaks done, my breaks seemed to be just fine. Within two weeks, my breaks started to grind and go to the floor. I took my car back and they sanded the breaks. After a week, it continued to do the same thing. I then took it back again and Peter said he didn’t see any issues but again sanded the breaks. He said maybe my rotors but in past experiences of my breaks were being done and the mechanic noticed my rotors were worn, they’d suggest that get fixed too but Peter still didn’t tell me if my rotors had issues. He just said maybe the problem. After picking my car up this last time, I drove out the parking lot for my breaks to be grinding and going to the floor again. What a waste of money because now I have to pay more money for someone else to do the job. In regards to my other vehicle, it seemed to be in working condition when we left. After it sat a few days we decided to drive it and it was doing the same thing that we paid $ 700 to get fixed.

I don’t know too much about cars, but I know my car has never failed me. I’ve been getting all my work done at Peter Tran’s for 5 years now. He always quotes me much less than other car repair shops and I never feel like he’s trying to up charge me for services that I don’t need.

Peter is hands down a GENIUS. I came in having absolute no clue why there was smoke suddenly appearing on my wheels. All this time I thought I just needed new brake pads. Peter’s shop was small and quiant and felt very personalized. He was the first person I met and inspected my vehicle right away, without hesitation he saw my I needed new rotors and front brake pads. I asked him how long it would take, and he said he would finish it by the end of the day. Umm… awesome! He then called me and said my transmission had problems and I had a feeling it did, just didn’t know (also I have no absolute experience with cars.) He then advised me, this is much more important to repair, so he did and also did my brake pads and rotors for such a great fair and great price! He is hands down probably the most knowledgeable repair man I know, I used to go to Pepboys or the dealership. but it’s always the same with them. Long lines, expensive rates, and you just feel so ripped off and also they leave you feeling like somethings left out. Peter Tran is definitely the best of the best! My dad is so impressed he’s bringing all repairs to him now too. Awesome!

I came by for a pre-​inspection of a used car I was thinking of purchasing. Peter was prompt about squeezing this inspection in for me on short notice while I waited. He was straight forward and seemed honest to me. The price for the inspection ($ 65) seemed fair to me. He found some problems which made me decide not to purchase the car. Thanks Peter.

Peter is always super friendly. My car is older and has lots of problems. I live far, so I rack up all my problems and bring it to him. He always does everything for cheap and will check everything for me, if I need a repair. I’ve had concerns about my car, and he will be honest in telling me what I don’t need repaired yet, and what I do.
He has done my belts, my oil, my radiator hoses, electrical issues, fixed my window, my oil pan gasket, and whatever else there was. He can do anything. My whole family trusts him. The best mechanic in the pacific northwest! Very honest, nice, and reasonable.

Having moved away from Washington and from Peter, I realized that this review is much overdue, and my car is well under maintained. Peter has always done my oil changes since I started driving, and they are CHEAP and he doesn’t use bottom shelf oil either. He always shows me what he is using and ensures me that his parts are insured. He is an HONEST mechanic, who has loyal customers and doesn’t need to sell a lot to one time customers.
Since I moved to Los Angeles, I took my car to get a simple oil change, they charged me twice as much as Peter had, so I called him and asked him if the oil they were using any good, he said no. :(By then it was too late, and they were ready to bill me. He is so helpful even when he is not helping you.
I brought my Honda Civic to him and my sister still brings her Lexus IS250 to him and we are both well taken care of.

Mr. Tran accepted my appointment to change my front car brakes within a couple of minutes. I came by, dropped the car off and had him and his colleagues go to work. they took about and hour and a half to clean the brakes on my back tires and replace the two front brakes. My car now runs smoothly and did I mention his prices are ridiculously cheap? Great place with seasoned professional mechanics.

I was referred to Peter by a friend who swears by him. Mind you, my friend is the one who usually helps me with my car problems, so when he cant fix his own car issues he takes his vehicle to Peter. With this in mind, I knew I’d be in good hands.
Peter was really easy to work with and friendly. He is honest about what your car needs and wont overcharge you or recommend work you dont need.
I definitely will be using him from now on.

Ok, here’s my mechanic. He’s good. He can fix a beat to shit Toyota Corolla, or a new Porsche. I’ve seen both in his shop.
Romans casino is next door so you can go gamble or do what I do is have a few beers and watch all the people lose their money. Peter will call you when your car is done.
Hint: If he knows you’re going over he works fast to get your car done. I think he has had more than one customer come back broke after doubling down.
Peter is very honest as well. He won’t bullshit you or lie to you.
