Neither time I’ve been in to the store have I been greeted, or even acknowledged by the staff. The last time being today, tues 12÷8÷15 around 10am. One staff member was too busy checking items in at the desk. When I said hello, she didn’t even make eye contact & then literally walked to the other side of the counter. The other was assisting a customer. It appears that customer was getting good service. Therein lies the problem. In both of my visits, the staff was busy with one person & literally didn’t acknowledge any one other than who they were with. The first time I waited 10 minutes hoping to receive assistance. No luck. Today I had my kid & waited 4 minutes before leaving. Both times I walked out without purchasing anything & went 5 minutes down the road & made my purchases at Next to Nature. I’ll head there first next time.

I just had an extremely bad experience at Pet Elements. My girlfriend and I went to get wet cat food and I asked for a price on an 8 pack of food as it was not listed. The customer who was currently at the register scoffed when I had turned around and said something along the lines of «They WOULD ask for a price check,» and the employees behind the counter laughed. I don’t know why someone would act like this or why employees in a customer service position would participate in this begavior. Needless to say I will never be returning to this store and will never spend another dime there. My girlfriend really loved this store but she is in agreement that we will never shop their again. Go to Mud Bay if you are looking for a friendly and wonderful experience. If you want to be judged about how much you are potentially spending by a stuck up house wife and the employees, go to Pet Elements. Extremely rude.

Fantastic pet food store! I’m so glad to have found them, they carry Acana dog food. The staff is very friendly and knowledgable. The prices are great!!!

We had an incident last year when we first got our puppy. He had a few accidents at the store and I was mortified and embarrassed! The second time he had done it (I tried really hard to lure him away from the same spot) I profusely apologized and a particular female employee huffed and stated «you know your going to have to do something about him and like put a belly band on him! He can’t just come in here and keep doing that!» I think my mouth dropped to the floor. I apologized again and offered to pay for the items that he had peed on. I did call the owner in regards to the situation. Fast forward to this year. I decided I would try and visit again… after a year… My husband and I walked in and the SAME female employee looked at me as we walked in and did not even acknowledge us. All of the other employees said «hello…we haven’t seen you guys in a while,» and chit chatted. The particular female employee ignored us and would not even make eye contact with us. Extremely unprofessional and I can say that I won’t return as a customer. I am saddened to say that b/​c I really liked the other staff and Pet Elements. But I cannot get over the fact that this particular employee is so rude and unprofessional. We all have our bad days… I get it… but I don’t take it out on others when I’m at work. She has a lot to learn about customer service and professionalism!

My kitty has some health issues and Colleen has been more than helpful with diet options. Her knowledge and compassion go above and beyond, and she’s always willing to take the time to talk and answer all of my questions. Lucky to have this gem in the neighborhood! I’m a lifetime loyal customer!

I own a dog walking business. I have worked with Pet Elements since they opened. The owner has always been positive and friendly. If they do not have something you need they will send you to their competitors. They care about animals and their nutrition. The staff will help you work through what ever issue your pets are having. I love them and I’m not afraid to say it.

The store just relocated up the street into a larger space but their selection has always been good and their hours are convenient. I love having an independent retailer to shop from that is close to home!

I really love this pet store. They take pride in offering really quality treats and food for animals. I get my dog food from here. It is no more expensive than getting it at Mud Bay and they don’t carry it at places like Pet Smart or PetCo. They staff is really friendly and I like the special perks that they do like giving free treats for animals when you make a purchase. I like that they are willing to carry new products and sometimes at a more reasonable price than chain stores. I espcially like that they provide flea treatment in individual doses so that you don’t have to spend $ 60 at one time. You can pay maybe 10 – 15 dollars for a dose. The treats for dogs is especially great in quality and quantity. They carry these vanilla chew bones that my dogs just go crazy for. I also have a frequent buyer card for dog food so my 11^th bag is free… They also have a $ 5 off coupon in the mailers which I make a point to look out for…

We have a LOT of pet store options in West Seattle, but this is the place I shop most often. They have a great selection of pet foods, toys, beds, treats, collars, leashes, etc., very kind and knowledgeable staff, fair pricing, discount-​per-​qty bag purchase programs (which helps when you’re buying premium foods for your pet), a freezer full of raw diet food choices, and a great location near the Morgan Junction. Can’t recommend these folks enough!

I was pleasantly surprised as I walked in to this bright and airy shop! While they have a lot of products, its organized, comfortable, and very clean! I have dog which has regular skin issues and I needed to find a new dog food. This can be an expensive and tricky task but it was an easy process with the help of the right people! Not only were the staff helpful and informed, they offered to give me a few samples of different types of food to see if they would be compatible with my dogs sensitivities! I am highly excited about this jewel of a pet store and will be back in the future!

Truly great pet store in West Seattle. This is within walking distance to my house which makes it convenient. Today, our dalmation was about 30 feet ahead of us an he went right up to the door and waited as if to say «OK we’re here. Give me the credit card, I’ll be right out.» The staff is always very friendly with our dogs and inevitably give out a pro bono treat or two. Also still love that their bags are doggy poop bags.

This is the only place I buy food for my dog, and I have recommended them to my own clients. In my opinion, the best selection of grain-​free and species-​appropriate pet foods in Seattle. Their staff can answer all your questions, especially when you’re looking to trade up to a top shelf food from something inferior. They even give you a treat sample with your food purchase. I also appreciate their wide selection of bully sticks and other safe, natural treats. As an added bonus, they stock a good variety of dog equipment that’s made right here in Seattle.

I love this store and so does my dog (she thinks she owns it). The staff is so friendly and very knowledgeable about foods. They are always helpful and willing to answer any questions.
We always come home with a new treat or toy. I wouldn’t shop anywhere else.

I opened a Unilocal Acct just to write about this business. Pet Elements has changed my and my pets lives. They research EVERYTHING so I don’t have to. They hire staff members that are so knowledgeable.
I have been shopping here for almost 5 years. I have 2 dogs & 2 cats. My cats used to struggle with obesity. I was feeding them really expensive Vet quality food. The staff took time to educate me on what to look for in labels. Both my cats dropped weight without having to be put on diet food, that was more expensive. They no longer struggle with weight and get to eat normal portions of regular food.
Four years later, one of my cat had a different medical problem. The staff member that was working that day, has a cat with the same issue. She and all of the staff there, were able to educate me on which foods would support my cat’s condition. The food is about the same price as the prescription food, yet doesn’t have any corn, gluten or wheat for fillers. Again my cats are so happy.
My dogs have done well on their recommendations of food, treats and toys. They can trouble shoot even tiny issues, like «my dogs destroy squeaky toys within 24 hours.» They say, «Have you tried this brand?» and by George — they are right!
Or «my dog sinks», and they might say «Have you tried this natural shampoo?», and again it works.
One of the owners, made a point of showing me the cost savings of buying my cat food in the larger cans. He made a point to show me how to save over $ 10 a month!!! Imagine, they want me to save $. They can even recommend a store for my friend that lives very far north and can’t come to West Seattle often. That is above and beyond great customer service!
To sum it up, the owners and the staff they are always so helpful, knowledge and have made my pets lives so much better, which makes my life awesome.

In my last post I mentioned that once a dog came in without a leash, but since then they have posted a bigger sign on the door stating that leashed dogs are welcome and they have leashes to barrow in case you forgot yours. A plus on listening to customers!
The staff is still really friendly and they always seem to remember you. It’s a good corner pet store and while a little small I find they still have everything you need.

Stumbled upon this pet store after needing to meet someone down the street. What a find! The ladies working there are so friendly and didn’t even mind when my dog five pawed a couple of treats. I also was able to pickup a scratch pad for my assistant’s cat — looks like they have good cat stuff too.

The neighborhood pet store personified. Helpful, friendly, and stocked with high quality merchandise and food.
I went in recently looking for cat food, but not knowing what brand had typically been bought for the cats. I brought a handful of kibble with me in the hopes that they could identify it. They could not, but not before they opened several of the little sample bags that they have behind the counter in an attempt to do so, and finally gave me a recommendation for a food that shared similar qualities (i.e., I’d known it was a high-​protein food so that the little fatties would, we’d hoped, not eat as much of it). That’s service that I will reward (and have rewarded) with repeat business.
And – huzzah – a small, independent store that ACCEPTS AMEX! Home run.

When I moved out of West Seattle I knew I was going to miss this store. The folks there are so friendly and willing to go out of their way to get just the right special line of pet products for their customers. They sold me a large pink leather spiked collar… and actually took it back when I didnt like it on my dog… of course I ended up getting something else in their store… its like a toystore/​candystore for pet lovers.
They also gave me a flower-​pot collar for one of my pets when she was injured… I was looking for one, they didnt carry it, but she had a brand-​new one at home that was unused and she brought it into the store, called me on the phone, and gave it to me… free of charge…
These folks are good at what they do. I still stop by there when I am near… to support small business in a world full of mega-​stores.

Our favorite pet store. Only the GOOD cat accessories — no need to wade through volumes of cheaply made toys.
Easy to get in and out of, and the buy 10-​get one free bags of cat food is a real bonus.
