Fast service! Nothing left to be desired and the spicy is definitely spicy! Be careful what you wish for!

MACHONACHOS. Do not fail to get them. The Macho Nachos are PERFECTION. I’m also a big fan of their salads. Yeah. Weird. «Salad at a bbq stop?» Whatever. Seriously: get a salad with the pork, have them make it «messy,»(my preference is for the mild sauce) then get a side of baked beans and a baggie of Fritos. As you eat the salad, pour the baked beans over the salad. Crush up your bag of Fritos and scatter them over the top as a garnish. As you get to the lettuce toward the bottom, mix in their dressing.

Been coming here for years. Best BBQ in Seattle! They start the meat cooking at like 5am, and it’s done for lunch. When it’s gone, it’s gone!

The hot link sandwich was good and I shared with my friend. But they don’t have ribs, the meat seems to be just covered with sauce and shredded. There were a lot logs out back I think r used cook the meat. I had the side of coleslaw which was not good at all. I will not stop again but the service was friendly. If u like sandwiches stop by and see them. there lots of smiles to go around.

Black pepper sauce is delicious! I hope these kind folks running the show never change a thing. Do not listen to the few dumbos that think they are trained bbq critics this place has been here for a coons age for a reason it’s just got damn good! I’m from the Kansas city area and this unique place has been scratching my itch since moving here in 1996. I order the brisket medium to hot, spike it with hot links 1 or 2, dump a coleslaw on top then steam shovel it down… Writing this review has motivated me to go right now. Pecos bbq addict here call the cops have me arrested

This outdoor seating only, walk-up bbq place has appeal. There were plenty of people, so as a firs-timer, I expected the high reviews to payoff. The service was friendly and quick, and that is where the payoff ended. The food was smothered in black pepper bbq sauce. No other seasoning or taste was present. Just black pepper. I ordered a medium(more spice) turkey sandwich and beans, my friend ordered mild(less spice) chicken atop a smoked sweet potato, and both tasted the same – like black pepper. The meat was dry and lacked flavor of its own.

Disgusting sauce. There’s so much pepper. It’s absolutely disgusting. Maybe if I brought my own sauce this would be decent.

I agree with reviewer Jo C. Genuine BBQ does not need any sauce. When it comes to BBQ, personally I’m spoiled because I grew up in Texas. I’ve traveled to Kansas City and Georgia often. In other words, had a few samples here and there. Regardless, I have a difficult time thinking of this place as a 3 star because the product that comes out of the kitchen is quite tasty and the service and speed is above average. I wish I could give it 3.75 but oh well, such is life. It’s better than most lack-luster attempts that I’ve sampled in Seattle and is very consistent. Is it real BBQ? Not really. But honestly, Seattle is a vacant landscape for real BBQ. If one were inclined to track down authentic BBQ in WA; Porters in Richland, WA is the real deal. PERIOD!

Fast service. Great price. Great food. Had shredded pork sandwich on fire(hot sauce). High quality meat, no fat or gristle. Sauce was hot and not too sweet. Only complaint: no moist towlettes. Short hours could be a problem for some. Worth trying. Don’t let the industrial neighborhood and term«shack» keep you away.

I’ve been going to Pecos Pit since 1987 — 19 years and counting — and I’ve never found a better BBQ Beef Brisket sandwich anywhere, period. I can also tell you that the quality has been consistent over that entire period so that is remarkable feat in and of itself. Unfortunately I don’t travel for business like I used to or work in an office downtown so my visits are few and far between. Today however, I was able to stop by and have lunch, what a treat! Simply the best.

The food was horrendous. Still on the search for good bbq in Seattle. Any bbq restaurant that rely on sauces to add moistness and flavor to their meats is not giving you real bbq. The brisket was dry and tough. There was no smoke ring or bark for that matter. Just over cooked meat. There was no love in that meat. The flavors in the sauces were all over the place. Sour or spicy but never married together. I laced my brisket with honey I brought from home b/c I didn’t want to use the sauce. it was such a sad waste of meat, but I just couldn’t finish it. I should have diced the leftovers and stick em in a stew. Tables were dirty and sticky. Service was just to get you get your order in and send you off. No homemade iced tea or lemonade! The only reason ppl come is for speed. But hey, I rather starve a bit than eat this again.

Service: Quick! We got our food pretty fast, so no problems there. The outdoor seating was pretty nice because they had heaters going. It’s not your usual«sit-down» McDonalds, so don’t expect a bathroom or sink, but I felt like the place was very unique. Food: I loved it. I was warned about the«spicy”-ness by fellow Unilocal reviewers, but since I adore spicy food, I gave it a shot at the medium. I don’t think I drank so many cups of water in my life, but it was AMAZING. I wish there was a place like this in LA! Conclusion: EATHERE.

Environment: They have outdoor seating with heaters going. Lots of picnic tables stacked next to each other. So if you want to switch it up sometime from your standard dine-in restaurant, come check this place out! Quality of food: I had the chicken salad. The chicken was very good and so was the dressing. The salad itself was pretty mediocre. Tasted like it was straight out of a Costco bag. But thankfully, the dressing and chicken came to the rescue. Quality of service: The food came out pretty quickly. I was surprised at how quickly it came out. The lady who took my order is always smiling and very friendly!

Only demerit is they have no bathroom or outside sink. Wear a jacket as its open air. Shredded beef and the pulled pork are both top shelf.

I grabbed a sandwich here after visiting the Living Computer Museum. The lady at the window was really nice. I got the pulled pork sandwich. If you ask for it «spiked,» they throw a hot link in the sandwich. That’s what I did. Despite being cautioned that the Medium sauce was really, really hot, I told the woman that I love spicy food. She obliged. As I sat down and ate my really sloppy sandwich, I enjoyed it thoroughly. It was sufficiently spicy enough to make my nose run. Success.

I love this place! If I’m in the Sodo area, I’m picking up take out from Pecos! If you plan on coming here, remember that they have limited hours; Mon thru Fri 10:30−4. Parking is right next to their building and I’ve never had trouble finding a spot. This is not a restaurant where you dine inside. It’s a very casual BBQ joint. You wait in line, order, and your food is ready in less than 5 mins. They don’t have the most friendliest customer service, but you barely spend anytime with any of the employees, so does it really matter? They’re not rude in anyway, just fast and efficient. Don’t waste your time phoning in an order bc 1) sometimes they don’t take phone orders and 2) when they do take your phone order, they don’t make it until you get there anyways. They only take 5 mins maybe 10 mins max to make your food and have it ready for you in the brown bag! Now for the food, the menu is TINY, but that’s a good thing! I’ve tried everything except for their salad. I have yet to be let down. I just wish I had a higher spice tolerance bc their mild sauce ISNOT mild. It is SPICY! Or maybe I’m just a wimp. Either way, it still hasn’t stopped me from eating here!

Hands down. The best bbq in the NW. Medium is hot, and it’s hot so good. Too bad this place only open at a particular time or I would have bring many people there. This is the place I would recommend, whenever anyone ask for some good food.

I had a very good pulled pork sandwich while enjoying their ample outdoor seating. They are very generous with the sauce there so you should probably plan on eating your sandwich with a knife and fork. I was in the mood for BBQ chicken but they don’t offer that. Very nice people.

I have been to pecos pit many times over the past few years and they are consistent as it comes. You walk up to the window to order and your food comes out in around 10 minutes depending how big the line is that day. Today, I ordered the sliced brisket sandwich with a hot link aka spiked with mild BBQ sauce. The brisket was smoked very well. It was very tender and wasn’t dry. The hot link itself has a decent snap to it and is pretty spicy but still enjoyable. The sauce has good flavors too it. I get mild generally because the hot link carries enough heat for me already. This is one of my go-toos for BBQ because of the cost, efficiency, location and of course taste. One last thing, don’t wear white the sandwiches can get quite messy.

Still an all time favorite. I come here about once a month and get my BBQ on. It’s a simple place, simple order. Prices have gone up a bit due to beef prices though.

No white onions or pickles. What kind of BBQ pit are you? A good one, actually. Let’s start with the negative and build to a triumphant rejoice of a finish. This is a BQ shack. It’s basically outside with 2 walls protecting you form rain and wind. You eat outside. The food is served in a brown paper bag with is actually cool and lends itself to the laid back atmosphere but also to the limited scope of service. I mentioned no white onions or pickles, this is actually a big thing. While I don’t want to pay extra for a side, I would. You should get some. After the meal, your fingers are trashed. No wet wipes for sticky cleanup. That’s a bummer, man. It’s also cold out. Outdoor only with one heat lamp. Burr. Sides? Want to eat your sandwich open face? Me too. Sporks are handed out and a pain in the ass. I need a fork for my meat and spoon or my sides. Now for the good. Or I should say, surprisingly great. Sliced brisket was fantastic. Lean so on the dryer side but in no way dry. I had the sauce on the side. Good thing too as the hot BBQ sauce is smoke’n hot. I highly suggest it. The chopped pork was soft and delicious. A little too much sauce mixed in so here too, I would suggest it on the side. The beans are too sweet for me but my partner in crime loved them. Hot link was ok. Smoked and could use a few minutes on a grill to finish of the casing. Overall, this place has delicious meat but the atmosphere is not appealing. My suggestion is to pick up and go. I would even urge you to buy by the pound for your next, casual, Sunday afternoon, football get together. You will love their meat.
