The food here is great but i feel that over time the chow mein is a bit bland. Overall the fried rice + Orange Chicken, some great food. xD i’d reccomend this place. Definately try it for yourself if you love chinese food hehe :)

Stopped in Northgate mall food court for a quick lunch after a movie across the street at Regal. We ordered a 3 entrée lunch — String beans with chicken, General Taos Chicken, Honey Shrimp with walnuts, noodles and mixed vegetables. Just enough food for the two of us. All the food was tasty and fresh, and served pretty hot for a buffet type of meal. Total cost was $ 10.69, which is great for two people and with the variety of foods. Will definitely stop in again.

I got there right at closing and the staff were still pleasant and didn’t rush anything. They did not have much of a selection left but the food still was tasty.

You know I’ve hit rock bottom and am trying to fill my 100-review challenge when I’m posting a review of Panda Express @ Northgate. …and am giving it 3 stars… …while I gave L’Atelier Joel Robuchon 2 stars… (long pause and deep breath while I wait for the sky to fall on my head) OK, I’m still here, so I might as well continue with the review. Panda Express is my guilty pleasure. Almost every dish is deep fried and/or smothered with a wicked sauce. And, due to the success of their Orange Chicken, they now have many similar looking dishes, like Beijing Beef. If you want a heart attack even before ingesting the food, take a look at the nutritional value of the Beijing Beef — 690 calories, 40 grams of fat and 890mg of sodium. Kinda blows the myth about Chinese food being«healthy» out of the water for you, doesn’t it? That’s because Panda isn’t about REAL Chinese food, but about what an unhealthy, deep-fried food lover thinks Chinese food should be. The healthy vegetarian stir-fried Chinese in me screams for deep fried Western goodness. And Panda Express fills this bizarre void lavishly and cheaply. Do yourself a favor and get the DIET soda… because two days after ingesting a meal at Panda Express(including the fortuitously fat fortune cookie) — you’ll be standing on your bathroom scale and thinking, «Well, at least it’s only TWO pounds that I gained… imagine if I had that extra large soda, that’d be another pound!»

I used to think there was no difference between one Panda Express compared to another. Clearly, I was wrong. This location in Northgate Mall is very convenient but has some of the most mediocre food I’ve had at any Panda Express location. The main reason I go to Panda is for orange chicken(is there any other reason). I love it and so does my child. I’m glad that they make it consistently and that it is exactly what I expect. The other dishes, however, are not as consistent, particularly the beef dishes. My partner does not eat chicken so his frustration with poor beef product is a little more than mine. For instance, the bejing beef tastes fabulous if it is fried to a crisp, then mixed in the sauce. If not fried crisp, it becomes a soggy mess of batter, which is often the case at this location. The one high point of this location is that my child is part of the Kidgits Club at Northgate Mall. That means he gets a free kids meal at Panda when I purchase a 2-entrée meal and a medium drink. It’s a great deal! Oh, and their medium drink should be called a Super Gulp because that’s what it reminds me of.

Every time I am exhausted during shopping, I end up eating orange chicken and beef broccoli meal at Northgate Food Court. I really like the 5.99 combo meal. Long live Panda Express! yum! :D You have to try the honey walnut prawns as well.

I typically would give the cold shoulder to mall food courts and especially Panda Express. I find it to be too ‘main stream’ Asian and not authentic at all. But the choices offered were either deep-fried or breaded like there was no tomorrow. I opted for the honey walnut prawns & the chow mein. The chow mein looked promising in the display but when I opened my box; it was ALL veggies it seemed. The shrimp itself wasn’t bad although there were only 6 and they charged $ 1 extra for it. I’d only eat if I was in the same situation although next time, I’d save myself the $ 7 and drive the 5 mins home to eat instead.

This is not Chinese food. It is Chinese food for the masses. That being said when I lived in Oregon I was grateful to panda express as my only Asian cuisine alternative. The food is decent overall if a little greasy.

I eat here a few times a week. It’s my secret — let’s keep it between us. Sometimes it’s pretty good, sometimes it’s just okay. But it’s close by and solid. And their new woks(vs. the old steam trays) are way more appetizing! I wish this location had some of the niceties of the freestanding locations. eg Iced Tea! Free Refills! Open Kitchen(=Cleaner). Maybe Someday…

I discovered Panda Express at a fancy truck stop somewhere in Illinois a few years back. Since then it has become my favorite gross mall food. I was actually bummed when I worked in Bellevue and they pulled it out of the mall. I’ve eaten at this Northgate location a couple times and it’s the same as anywhere else. I don’t expect the food to be great so I’m not disappointed. In fact I rather like the orange chicken. There aren’t many vegetarian options and most of the entrees are chicken and/or fried. I usually get the chicken & green beans or beef & broccoli as my second entrée so I can get a vegetable. I know Panda Express is far from healthy so I limited my indulgence to once or twice a year. And I never clean my plate. Some locations(including this one) have a kids menu that features smaller entrée portions and a smaller drink size. I don’t know if I would go so far as to recommend Panda Express but they carry Dr Pepper and it’s where I always head when at the food court.

Orange Chicken + Fried Rice = HEAVEN I’m Chinese and I am not ashamed to say that I LOVEPANDAEXPRESS! Of course none of the items are in any way authentic(were you really expecting a food court place to be?) and everything is packed with sodium but OMG so yummy. I’m drooling as I am writing this review!

This was my first job… Where I got burned multiple times and bleach stained many of my black pants. I always hate how I smelled like orange chicken after each shifts and I never understood why the customer love orange chicken so much. The orange chicken is first deep fried then tossed with orange sauce(yumm?). The food here is ok since I know that they use fresh ingredient and no MSG. My entrée choices depends on how fresh the entrees are. The price has increase dramatically since I worked there but that hasn’t stop the lines from lining up.
