We work with all companion birds, from budgies and cockatiels, to cockatoos and macaws.

Professional level member: International Association of Avian Trainers and Educators (IAATE).

Bird Behavior Consultant and Coach: My specialty is in working with the human-​parrot dynamic, so that our homes are places of peaceful coexistence. All of our training is based on 100% positive reinforcement.

Boarding: We provide a five-​star home experience for your bird, that includes individualized care and attention. This is a B&B for birds so that your bird can have her own vacation while you are away.

We offer an a la carte menu of services that includes individual attention and playtime outside her cage, and organic food. Only one bird at a time is allowed out during free flight and playtime outside the cage.

All birds accepted for boarding must pass a complete avian physical exam to ensure that your bird will remain healthy. There are several outstanding avian vets in this region. Please call if you would like a referral.

History

Established in 2011.

Over the last 30 years, I’ve shared my home with many parrots, including several rescues from neglected situations. In December 2011, I opened my home to boarding birds because of my own experiences in trying to find a wonderful, safe, and affordable place for my parrots that provides lots of individual attention and playtime, and medical care (if needed).

After working in the tech industry for decades, I am now doing what I love. We are experienced professionals who absolutely love birds. We provide a peaceful oasis and the very best service in town to all our Pampered Parrots.

Business Owner

My mother tells me that my third word was «feather.» I can’t remember a time that I didn’t love birds. All animals really, but especially birds.

I’ve been studying bird behavior and communication for decades. When training, I apply Barbara Heidenreich’s approaches (Good Bird Inc.), calming signals, and all that I’ve learned from 20 years of volunteer fieldwork studying flock behavior for Washington Dept. of Fish and Wildlife.

Our best relationships are based on mutual respect and trust — a true partnership. My relationships with animals are exactly that, partnerships. I will treat your birds with the same deep care, respect, and compassion that is my approach to all aspects of life.

To support my love of animals, I’ve been a technical writer for more than 25 years. The common thread in all of my work is a strong attention to detail and listening carefully.
