Just the kind of fabric store I was looking for! Well organized with good selection. I think they could have a bit more fabric, compared to other similar fabric outlets I’ve been too, but it certainly wasn’t overwhelming and cluttered… So give and take, you know? We found some fabric for pillows and I’m seeing them today! Also, the woman cutting our fabric was very nice, and concerned that the print wasn’t on the fabric straight. I didn’t care, but it was honest of her to point it out before she cut it for me. I’ll go back!

DEFINITELY NOT A HANDICAP ACCESSIBLE STORE IF YOU GO THERE ON WEEKENDS OR AFTER 5pm ON A WEEKDAY. You have to climb up these nasty, dirty, decrepit stairs that have a handrail that seems as though it is about to come out of the wall! Well that just cries out LAWSUIT to me! Then, on top of that… the floor is so uneven and crappy! Been filled in with some kind of epoxy or whatever. Asked the Crabby Lady what people do to get up and down the stairs and she said that they have to use a freight elevator during daytime hours during the weekdays. Well, Hello SUNSHINE… not everyone can get to your store during those times, and I certainly will not be making it my life’s mission to come back to your dirty, dusty, musty, overpriced store during those daytime hours… or ANY OTHER.

This place was great. Super helpful staff that had exactly what i needed.
Not often one needs 21 yards of fuscia satin crêpe. They had to dig but they it.
I will shop here again

I love PFC’s other locations, especially Northgate. They have always been nothing but helpful and friendly and had a great selection.
This location, though, might be closed. Paid for a bus all the way down to SODO in the pouring rain, walked several blocks, got there right in the middle of their posted hours. .. and they were closed. It wasn’t a holiday, either. What a waste of two hours and a wet pair of socks.

Fun to wander around in and they frequently have excellent sales and discounted items. The staff were friendly and helpful to me. Not sure what others are complaining about.

The selection here is pretty great. I need some new curtains in a specific color combination (light pink, sky blue, and chartreuse) and after failing to find any options in a suitable fabric elsewhere, I found at least 5 candidates I’m actively considering. I also really liked the selection of unique patterns — they can get kind of expensive (a tiny robot print in a silky material that would be great for a blouse ran $ 20 a yard) but I didn’t see anything over $ 20 a yard, and most were well under that price.
They also have a pretty good selection of leftovers from the ends of bolts of designer fabrics in odd lengths and cuts, and oddly a lot of colors and thicknesses of lyrca.
I’m glad this place is relatively close and offers a decent selection, since the other places I looked into were small and didn’t have enough options to cover whatever thing I was looking for at the moment.

This place makes me wish I knew how to sew! I recently stopped by to get some fabric for some custom curtains my mom is going to make me and found exactly what I needed. The ladies here are very helpful and knowledgeable. Obviously from my first sentence of this review, you know I’m not someone who goes to fabric stores frequently or who would know much about them. However, I was able to get all the fabric I needed to make curtains for my 2 huge windows for $ 50. That’s a lot better than paying $ 258 for curtains for one window had I decided to go through someone else to make them for me.
Not too sure when I’ll be back, but I would definitely recommend checking them out if I were you. They have tons of different patterns and designs. Everything from regular ol’ cotton to fuzzy furry disco fabrics.

My review is only for their cross stitch /​embroidery offerings.
I like that this place is close enough to my house that if I need a quick fix of DMC thread or an embroidery hoop I can pop in and grab it. But their section is small. Aida fabric options are limited too.
I’d just rather go to Joanne’s or Michael’s if I need more variety and a little bit better price due to weekly coupons.

While on the hunt for some fabric, yarn and notions, I came across Pacific Fabrics and Crafts in the Chinook Book, and love to support local businesses.
This location is in the Georgetown SoDo area of town, and you can definitely feel that vibe when you arrive. The building is pretty nondescript, the parking lot is small and a little worse for ware, and the signs are easy to miss, so make sure you keep your eyes open when coming here for the first time!
The selection was vast, but not overwhelming. It was pretty tightly packed in there, but their variety didn’t knock my socks off — both with their fabrics as well as their yarns. The prices were alright. On par with some of the big box stores, but without the massive coupons that they distribute like confetti on New Years.
The whole store felt a little run-​down and dusty. Some of the fabrics on the left side of the store were a little musty and reminded me of someone’s scattered attic.
I had a pretty mediocre service experience. We were asking about some weaving supplies, and the woman told us to go to Weaving Works. The woman was polite, yet really gruff, loud and a little curt. I think it was her tough delivery that made it come across as slightly rude, while she was still being helpful.
I’ll be back, and soon — especially since I can not find Neoprene in Seattle! But because of their location and their selection, this will probably not be my go-​to fabric store anytime soon.

I came here for the first time for some specialty fabric for this costume I was putting together and holy buckets they delivered! The selection here is HUGE and though I ended up walking away with more than I intended to get, it was SO worth it. The staff here is great and the place has a bit of charm to it. Things to consider: check your bag at the counter when you get up the stairs & it’s a bit hot on a warm day. I’ll be back when I need more fabric for my next project. :)

Holy Smokes. Let me tell you that the sweet little ladies that work here are so helpful and really know there stuff. I have to admit, I know nothing about crafts or fabrics, but the staff here rallied around me to answer all of my rookie questions and make sure I knew all my options.
The store is HUGE, and the selection seemed endless. And the few items I had been shopping for elsewhere (Amazon and JoAnnes) were significantly less expensive here. So you combine beyond fantastic customer service with a huge selection AND great prices. Ta-​Da! Best craft/​fabric store EVER!

This is my first stop when I have a new project. They have an excellent selection of fabrics, buttons, yarn and thread. Not to mention the countless other things the store contains. The store is very well organized and their sale items are in clearly marked areas for a quick sweep across incase anything inspires a quick project. The staff are extremely helpful with suggestions and showing you other options on how to go about something. Seldom do I visit other craft stores

Outstanding service when I stopped in just before closing to buy a piece of foam to replace a chair cushion. A staff member volunteered to cut it for me to size and had a $ 400. Bosch cutter to do it with. She did an outstanding job after measuring and marking and saved me so much time. Way to go!

I cannot believe all of the low reviews. This place is awesome. Some stuff has great prices, some has normal prices. People are helpful and friendly. It’s not showy but it serves it’s purpose. The stairs to get up there are a bit brutal but we crafter’s need that exercise.
I heard this place was going to go out of business years ago, I hope that doesn’t happen, it’s a great alternative to the big box stores.

Hrm. Im not quite sold on Pacific Fabrics and Crafts just yet. With just 5 local locations I was happier to try to support this store instead of opting for a big box, chain store. And I know I’ll be back but I’m not sure if I can quit the big box stores just yet.
While I’ve heard from a lot of people that customer service here is lousy, it was the opposite for me. There was only one person I could see that was working there (which wouldn’t be good if they were busy) but this particular woman was really friendly and smiley.
What was disappointing however is the selection. While the prices are great, there is just a severe lack in products here. Yes, there’s a ton of fabric, but some of it looks like it was ordered 15 years ago and has never, EVER been sold. Strange items like prints with bizarre or ugly patterns. And while this was just my personal opinion and there are more common, more popular styles and fabric types, there’s just a lot more stuff I’d never buy. A few items that were nice were only available in small quantities or had already run out of stock.
I did buy a few things and browsed for about 40 mins, trying to see if there was anything else I needed. I spotted lots of great stuff, but just 10x more ‘just ok’ things.

First of all, where is this place? I drove myself there a few weeks ago and I honestly still do not know where it is. I went up and down 4^th, yelling at my phone map lady and becoming more and more enraged by the fact that there are about seventeen businesses on 4^th that are all named «Pacific [Whatever]» and it is bananas.
Anyway, when I finally got there and parked, I still didn’t know I was there because I was pretty much just, like, on a loading dock. I saw the tiny sign pointing at the door, went through the door and up the stairs, and found myself in this… uh, «outlet» store.
I wasn’t there for fabric but they had a hell of a lot of it. I wanted to check out the yarn and found their selection pretty medium. The prices were the same or slightly higher than the small yarn shop where I’ve been taking lessons, which surprised me. When you hear «outlet» you think it’s gonna be a bunch of cheap stuff with something slightly wrong with it. I guess the good news is that all the yarn is regular.
I ended up buying a bunch, which a nice young weirdo took from me and left on the counter while I continued to shop. They had a decent selection of books, needles, and other accessories, and I finally found a small area with discounted mixed bags of yarn. I bought a few with small matching skeins in them to add to my collection, as well as several other regular and bizarro varieties. All told, I got out of there with a huge bag stuffed full of yarn for about $ 60.
The staff were definitely focused on each other, but seriously, this is a weird store and if I worked there I would probably have to go to Mental Jamaica to get through the days. The guy who helped me was very nice and laughed at my jokes and was wearing confusing pants. I had the feeling that if I asked for help, they’d help me.
It’s not the best but it’s not the worst. It’s crazy and I might go back.

Staff has always been friendly and helpful, although I bring a dog so I guess some would call that «cheating.» Hey, I can’t help it that everyone loves a lab.
I agree with other reviewers that fabric here is either AWESOME, totally want it ALL — or meh, not really what I’m looking for today. I mainly have been shopping for «fashion» fabrics (linens and wools and silk chiffons) lately, so the faux fur doesn’t interest me, although the have it in spades. Same thing with the cotton prints, which I imagine I’d be all over if I were a quilter.
I have found a number of really great upholstry fabrics that I use for making throw pillow covers. Boyfriend has a rule, no more than 2 throw pillows in the entire house — so I have lots of covers to keep me from getting bored. I also love that they have felt by the yard, which is great for crafts and when you are making costumes and don’t want to piece together 8.5×11 sheets.
I come here a lot just because I love the convenience and prices are pretty reasonable, and I have a better shot of finding what I’m looking for here than at a specialty quilting shop like Stitches, but I am still looking for my fabric nirvana.

Seriously. Lots and lots of fabric. Weird ones too — fake alligator skin? They got it. Faux furs of every color? Yup. Sequined vinyl? Check. Prints that dazzle and possibly confuse? You betcha. This is ~the~ place to go for some decently priced fabric choices.
However — craft area is lacking. I was sad with the limited ribbon and fringe supply, the lack of fabric flowers, and general crafty sort of supplies. Patterns for the express use of your fabric purchases are even hard to come by. Was I expecting something more on par w/​Michael? Maybe — but «Crafts» IS in their name ya know.
I was left to my own devices while wandering the store — which was fine. I don’t like a hard sale, but when needing to ask if they had such-​and-​such item it was strange that there was no-​one on the floor and I had to trek to the duo of elderly women working the cash registers. They rung me up efficiently and sent me on my way.
I’ll be back with specific patterns and ideas in hand — but you really need to know what you are looking for beforehand when coming here.

The service seemed just fine to me, but I’ve only been there one time, so I can’t weigh in fairly. I was ignored until I went up to the counter, but I don’t mind being left alone to browse. When I asked a question, I was given a somewhat dour, but helpful answer. My only comment, however, is that when I asked about the products, I got a few «I think,» and «Probably,» responses. Considering how little –I– know about what I’m doing, I was hoping for a bit more insight…
The fabric selection is awesome. Totally what I was looking for. I don’t care much about crafty things — my main deal is fabric, fabric! — so I was totally satisfied. Found the gorgeous fabric I wanted and a few others I may have to return and fetch later. I could see how you’d be out of luck if you wanted something very specific, because the selection seems to be either On The Money, or completely Off The Mark. But considering how much they manage to fit into this space, it’s definitely worth a look.

I agree, what is with the staff here?
Did I do something I shouldn’t have? Is it wrong to lay in the fake fur pile?
Should I not get a wicked gleam in my eye as I run my hand over the pink glitter vinyl?
Does my purchase of upholstery fabric upset your quilting ways?
Why so sour?
Prices aren’t greater than some fabric stores but holy bejeezus this has lots of specialty fabric like velvets, faux furs, upholstery and a bazillion prints for quilting, mild and wild. Prices range from cheap (on sale in the back) to okay.
Way expensive for foam for projects, get it at Fred Meyer and you’ll thank me, it’s about ¼th the price.
They carry tons of notions as well, but no notion to be friendly apparently.
