Wow. A hidden gem inside Seattle Central College. A gourmet dining experience at an affordable price, and supports the culinary school at the college. Everything from the food, to the service to the presentation is superb. Make sure to visit this one-of-a-kind spot for lunch on the hill.

Delicious food, fun menus, and a great program! The menu changes every couple of weeks and there is always something new and interesting. The quality is consistently good and the students who work there are friendly and knowledgeable. The highlights for me are the menu variety and the food presentation which is always immaculate. It usually makes me stop and look for a minute before digging in. If you eat in, give yourself some time. Service can be a bit slow, but it will be with the wait!

lunch food: salad and duck confit. their menus changes every quarter. i know salads are clear cut and dry, quite literal. but their version of a fried egg was amazing. the yolk is cooked in a pouch like pastry crisp. the yolk oozes out in every bite. its gooey and goes well with the rest of the vegetables. the duck confit was so tender. it wasnt dry. knowing how its cooked, its hard to imagine being dry, but some places do. its well plated and looks pretty. ***4/5 service: i know most of the people are in training, but their service is no where near their experience in the kitchen. it takes time, but you can tell some of the servers are less experienced than others. it took us nearly 1.5 hours for lunch and it was only 2 courses. ***2/5 value: ive never been to a place with fancy plating, but i have heard that its expensive. so leaving the place paying how much i would regular pay for a meal in cap hill, this was impressive. sure the portions were smaller, but i left feeling full. its a 4 $ sign style with a 2 $ budget. try it out. ***4/5

This is a fabulous student run restaurant within seattle college and open to the public. Prices are low for exquisite food. They are not allowed to advertise so word of mouth is the only way. Pizza. Yummm. Only 5 bucks.

How did I forget to write a review of this place? I was staying with a friend who lived around the corner, and he had never heard of this place, so we went one day for lunch. If I remember correctly, it was $ 12.95 for a 3 course meal. I don’t remember the appetizer or dessert as it’s been so long, but my main course was a delicious piece of salmon with some nice greenery on my plate. For a student run restaurant, service was pretty good. Had a friendly waitress named Claire who chatted with me about my upcoming trip to Australia as she was from there. I’d definitely be a regular if I lived in the area. Such great value.

Phenomenal! This could quite possibly be Seattle’s best kept secret. The culinary masterpieces these students create are certainly on par with any of the finest restaurants Seattle has to offer. It was a joy to hear about each creation from an individualwho is truly passionate about their craft. Our family is so excited to have found this place. We will definitely be back.

After navigating your way through the maze that is SCCC’s main building on Capitol Hill, sitting down to a lunch at the Seattle Culinary Academy’s One World Dining room is a rare slice of luxury at divebar prices. Often sustainably or locally sourced, the ingredients rule the menu, and the menu changes frequently. The coolest aspect of One World is the open kitchen — take a seat at the«bar» and watch SCA students whip up your meal in real time. Or, for a more formal setting, ask for a table and enjoy the ambience. Often times other programs provide artwork displays — Such as the fashion design program installing several reconstructions of historical dress made out of block paper. I found One World as a result of having a friend in the SCA program. You, on the other hand, have now heard about it from me — Wow your friends with a classy but insanely affordable meal. BIGTIP: Cash or check only. There is an ATM tucked away down by the entrance, but if you’d like to avoid the service charge, just make sure to bring about 15 – 25 bucks.

When I was a student at SCCC, I loved coming here for their lunches and cuisine showcases. The prices are EXCELLENT and the food is amazing, even more amazing for the price! Table service for the lunches is impeccable, as the culinary students also learn about waiting tables. The food is high-quality and always different. I highly recommend hunting this place down and figuring out their hours(which always were rather brief). 5 star food on a college student’s budget… perfect!

If you believe the coolest, most exclusive restaurants don’t even have a sign on the outside of the building, then One World Dining wins the cool, exclusive, utter obscurity award. You’d definitely have to know where this place is(and I’ll tell you): Try the second floor of Seattle Central Community College. This working lab for the college’s culinary arts program is a true discovery. No ground beef in gravy with mashed potatoes for this college food service. Instead, you’re served gourmet recipes like potato crusted salmon with morels and oyster mushrooms, Painted Hills beef tenderloin with carrot-fennel purée, or nettle soup with wood sorrel radish salad. The food is actually quite great. Although, when you consider what you’re paying«stupendous» might be a better adjective. Entrees run from about $ 9 to $ 11, and they include soup or salad. Now you might think you’d be served by amateurs whose prior food service experience was at Wendy’s. But no. Our knowledgeable, amiable waiter the other day was a veteran of several New Orleans restaurants. You can’t pick on the décor either. It’s on the sleek side, and very modern, clean, and tasteful. So what’s not to like? Well, the service can be inexplicably slow at times. And some of the dishes are clunkers — like what was the deal with the nearly raw julienned marinated asparagus? But, all in all, both stomach and wallet will come away happy.
