One Purpose Chiropractic

I’m not sure where to begin to describe my experience with Dr. Tom. I found him through Unilocal in his previous location in Georgetown when he had a one rating of 5 star. Since injuring my back at work I was in such pain and didn’t think twice about seeing someone that could relieve my pain. I had one visit in his old office while he transitioning to the new location in West Seattle. I saw him for two consecutive weeks about twice a week and with getting my back adjusted, I loved the massages given by Lindsay (best massage therapist I’ve had). The turning point happened one Friday morning when after waiting for my adjustment over 40 minutes while listening to his conversation with the previous client I got up and told him I was going to reschedule. He tried to convince me It was only going to take a couple of more minutes. but i didn’t think that was professional. I did not reschedule the following week, but I had already made an appointment with the massage therapist. I received a call from her the day before the appointment saying it was being cancelled due to the office inability to bill a federal L& I claim!?! Hmm! So I need to teach you how to do your job? It’s not over! All my attempts to clarify and communicate with Dr. Tom to find what the problem was that have gone nowhere. Her receptionist/​secretary continued to take my messages and never returned my calls, nor did Dr. Tom. I decided 6 wks later to just walk in his office to at least get a copy of my med record so I could seek care somewhere else. Well, Dr. Tom was with a patient and his receptionist told me he wasn’t in. I left and stood outside trying to find who to complaint to when he walked out of the studio few minutes later. Unbelievable! I asked why was it this difficult to get in touch with him and simply requested a copy of my record. We went back to the office and he asked his receptionist to print his notes for me. My advice: you can be the best chiropractor in the world, but if you can’t follow up with your patients and hire professional staff, then someone needs to let you know.

Simply put, Dr Lisa changed my life. She made my pain subside on many occasions and really put me on a path to healthy living. When she sold her business and moved away, I had high hopes for Dr Tom. He seemed to listen when Dr. Lisa showed him how best to adjust me and was nice enough.
However, once she was gone, everything changed. I’ve been seeing a chiropractor on and off for nearly 20 years. So, I know what’s wrong with my body when I go to see the dr. Recently, I knew my atlas was out due to the recurring headaches I had been having. I knew my hips were out because of the pain in my low back. Dr Tom not only kept me waiting over 30 minutes while he chatted with previous patients (not about health issues); but he couldn’t get my neck to move and told me to use ice for my headache. In addition, some of the décor in the office is religious and different from my personal beliefs. When I see this in a professional office setting, I immediately feel unwelcome. I don’t care what your religious beliefs are, but I don’t believe a professional setting is the right place for a personal display. I will be seeking another practitioner.

I’ve been going to Dr Lisa for about 6 months and I truly appreciate her focus on education and collaborative wellness. She is kind and thoughtful, professional and effective. I always feel energized and positive after an adjustment.
At first I wasn’t sure why she has an open adjustment room, but I learned the benefit today. The woman who was being adjusted before me had clearly been in pain and had limited motion/​decreased strength in her arm. As Dr Lisa worked, she explained why she was working on each area, and with each step she checked the strength/​range of motion. It was so cool to see the improvements happen for this woman with just a few minutes of adjustments, but the best thing was the reaction of the patient. She was beyond thrilled to be able to move without pain — the look on her face was one of complete joy. It actually brought tears to my eyes to see how happy she was, and to see Dr Lisa have such an immediate, positive impact for this patient.
I’ve also had sessions with Lindsay, the massage therapist, and she’s equally wonderful. Honor at the front desk is very friendly and instantly makes you feel welcome. I highly, HIGHLY recommend One Purpose Chiropractic!

I saw Dr. Lisa when I first became severely ill with Lyme Disease (although, at the time, I didn’t know what it was). At first, I thought my muscles were detaching and my entire body was falling apart. I couldn’t turn my head, lift my arms, or walk in an upright position. Dr. Lisa went above and beyond to find ways of healing me. She spoke privately with a nutritionist and encouraged me to go gluten-​free. She found ways of adjusting me so that I didn’t have any flare-​ups. It was determined that I was having symptoms of Fibromyagia (which, itself, is a symptom of Lyme Disease) so she took extra special care of me, working to minimize inflammation. She made it possible for me to walk around and find work (after previously losing both of my jobs due to severe pain). She is a true healer. Her nurturing energy and totally cool, down-​to-​Earth personality make it so easy to be around her.
One thing I loved most about her was her ability to pull me out of the darkness that I was in after losing my jobs and watching my life fall apart due to a chronic illness that I didn’t yet understand. She refused to adjust me until I told her at least one positive thing. She did this to me every day until it became easy. I finally got to a point where I’d wake up in the morning and immediately have a positive thought.
I love Dr. Lisa so much, and ever since I left Seattle, I’ve been very hard-​pressed to find any other chiropractor who can hold a candle to her. People who stumble upon her clinic are lucky folks, indeed.

I have been a patient of Dr. Lisa Grasman for over 2 years and continue to receive excellent care at One Purpose Chiropractic. I recently injured my back and Dr. Lisa has been seeing me almost daily. I’m convinced I would still be flat on my back and not at the computer typing this right now had I not gone to see her directly after the injury. She is caring and has a wonderful staff as well. If you need chiropractic care in Seattle, I highly recommend One Purpose Chiropractic.
Dr. Lisa is no longer in practice in West Seattle. I now see Dr. Patrick Hunter at Conscious Choice Chiropractic.

I started seeing Dr. Lisa once I realized that western medicine was really just masking my problems rather than healing them. Dr. Lisa told me that she thought she could HEAL me — something every other doctor I had ever been to had said was impossible.
After just two months of care, I’ve noticed a remarkable difference. Not only has my original problem gotten so much better, but I find I have more energy and my lower back no longer hurts.
I think what she does must be magic, but I’m impressed and can’t recommend her enough.

I first went to see Dr. Lisa Grasman in spring 2011 after I hurt my lower back. Correction: she was the second chiropractor that I went to go see.
The first guy was, let’s just say, ineffective and uncommunicative. Fabulous. Just what I want in a health care professional.
I was complaining about him to a friend and he recommended Dr. Lisa, who it turns out is the EXACT opposite of the first guy that I went to see.
Extremely communicative, caring and responsive; I can’t recommend Dr. Lisa highly enough! She got my lower back feeling great pretty quickly, and we are now working on old neck injury that used to bother me all the time, but is now, after 20 years of pain, starting to feel normal again!
Although I went to see Dr. Lisa after getting injured, I recommend you go see her before you get hurt. Take some dog treats for her very cute French Bulldog, Nina, and congratulate yourself on being proactive with your healthcare.
