Terrible food. Orange chicken was gelatinous and had no flavor. The honey walnut prawns were smothered with a thick, luke warm mayonnaise. I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone.

Be warned if you are ordering through Eat24… every time I have ordered via the app it takes almost 2 hours to get my food, and it’s cold by the time I get it. The food isn’t bad, if you can get past the fact that you’ll need to microwave it before you enjoy it.

You know how sometimes you crave bad Chinese food but it’s actually good? Well, this was actually really bad, in a bad way. I may have just ordered the wrong things, but man, the food was so bad. The general tso was WAY too salty and the ingredients were poor quality. The chow mein was bland and didn’t even seem like it was cooked; both the vegetables and noodles were weirdly hard. Such a bummer meal.

Love this place! It is a great neighborhood Thai joint, and I’ve done take out quite a few times. Their service is great and take-out is pretty seamless. I’ve had the pad see ew, tofu & green pepper stir fry, and panang curry. Great flavors and generous portions! As a side note, I think they may of hired someone new recently, who seemed frazzled on the phone and almost got our order wrong when we went to pick it up! Definitely visit if you are in the area!

Got food delivered from here and it was the worst Thai food I have ever eaten. Seriously never thought Thai could go wrong but it did.

FYI — this is one of the places you have to order rice separately. I always forget which Thai places do this, and I end up with curry and no rice.

Excellent food. Cozy environment. Great service! Also a huge plus is that it is right next to Green Lake so you can walk it off afterwards!

First & last time I order from them. Delivery was fast but the Phad Thai was awful! I also ordered Red Curry and received a half full container for $ 9.00. I even made a simple request for sticky rice and they didn’t have anymore! What kind of Thai restaurant doesn’t have sticky rice?!

I had the curry fried rice, General Tso’s chicken and potstickers delivered. Everything, including the service was subpar. The driver couldn’t manage the instructions to come around to the back door that were written on the order and that I told him when he called on his arrival. Whatever! No points off for that because it doesn’t seem like a task that half of delivery people can manage. The bag must have fallen during the delivery because all my General Tso’s sauce was swimming around the bottom of the bag. Good times! The potstickers were packaged in a brown paper lunch bag. The bag that we all know and love. Since they were fried potstickers, the bag was semi-translucent from all the oil. And it was served with a sweet chili sauce that would normally be for a spring roll. Potstickers get a soy-based mixture. Does it seem like I’m being nit-picky? Well, I am. If the food had even been halfway decent, I would have never mentioned the previous stuff. But, once that tipping point goes negative, I’m going down the list. Okay, the curry fried rice was bland. That’s the best thing that I can say about it. It didn’t really taste like curry. It was more… curryish. It’s that frozen peas and carrots kind of fried rice. It sucked and it was the best part of the meal. The General Tso’s chicken was rubbery and gristled. Sure, I’ve eaten at chinese restaurants where nearly every part of the bird is still intact. But not when it’s Costo chicken pieces tossed in ketchup and French dressing. I’ve had better Chinese food at the Safeway deli. Hell, I’ve had better Chinese food in the Safeway frozen food section. Why is a Thai restaurant serving Chinese food? Actually, I guess that’s my fault for ordering Chinese food from a Thai restaurant. Two stars.

I don’t understand the rave reviews especially with the plethora of Thai restaurants to choose from in the area. I got delivery of the pad thai and the pad see ew. The pad thai was pretty bland and simple. It was mostly just meat and noodle. No other veggies or the usual bean sprouts. The pad see ew was pretty generic, but overly oily. Each dish is pretty cheap though and the portion sizes are respectable.

One of the elements that sets O’Ginger apart from most of the Eat 24 options is a menu that isn’t four hundred items deep, and yet still crosses the cuisine lines from Thai to Vietnamese to Chinese, and so on. I have had the Pad Kee Mao, the lemongrass specialty, and the red curry — the first two I would deem good/great, although I think the curry was just ok. All in all, another solid option for good food that can be delivered to your door and feed you for several days.

«Oh Ginger, where have you been my whole life??» Ok, maybe just my life since getting Thai delivery in Seattle, but whatever… minor detail. Seriously, though, I have tried every Thai place in the vicinity of Mapleleaf/Wedgwood who actually delivers to me(erm, for less than $ 30 minimum plus $ 3 fee), in addition to several other locations that I’ve tried in other areas north of the cut. I kept feeling horribly disappointed by most, and completely abandoned by the several who could deliver to me… until tonight. I’m picky(a foodie), low-income at the moment, and low on time because I woark all the time. Yeah, it’s an abysmal trifecta, but it means I’m a great barometer for good deals! So, enough about me; what about the FOOD? Spicy Noodles — sooo yummy. Okay, I’m not sure how this is different from their Pad Kee Mao but with chicken plus a couple of prawns. But, it was delish! The veggies in this weren’t overcooked like you usually see, the prawns’ tails were removed so you could actually eat it, and all of the meat seemed to actually be good quality. Good sized portion, too. I had trouble stopping eating this. Tom Yum — Truly lived up to the«yum» factor(yeah I know, bad pun.) Chock full of my chosen protein(tofu) and — by luck, perhaps — my favorite veggie in this soup, mushrooms. It was hard not to eat the entire thing in one sitting! Panang Curry(with Beef) — The sauce was super tasty, much better than the other panang I’ve tried from the several other Thai restaurants near me, and the beef was actually tender and NOT stringy like the other places. BIGPRO: I included some annoyingly specific instructions when ordering(e.g., when given the option to choose between two heat levels in the Eat24 app, I put in the notes that I wanted heat in between those two). Literally every single one of my special requests was followed to a «T». Heat level on all dishes and done-ness/crispiness level for the tofu, all fulfilled like requested. I wouldn’t comment on this if it was usually the case for delivery/take-out or even Thai restaurants I’ve been to in general in Seattle. I might just have to visit this restaurant in person sooner rather than later!(Side note — if you are complaining about the default heat not being spicy enough, you need to just ask for extra hot. The intensity of flavor, quality of ingredients, and ability to respect a customer’s wishes should matter more than the ability to burn your tongue off regardless of flavor. We can make the latter happen at home with added chili paste, yes?) CON: –They have literally no descriptions for their food. Even their website’s menu jpeg’s didn’t seem to work. It wasn’t super important, but most restaurants have different variations on some dishes, such that it would be massively helpful to have the descriptions from the menu available *somewhere*.(Even their takeout paper menu, which I requested with the delivery, had no descriptions for the dishes). –No rice is included with dishes that often have it(i.e. curries). It would have been nice to know that in advance. But it won’t keep me from coming back, given the awesomeness of the food. I obviously will need to provide updates as I try other things(like the cinnamon duck, which sounds delicious). But I had to write a review after only one visit(unusual for me) because I was so impressed, especially in comparison to other equally starred nearby Thai places that I’ve tried multiple times and have been either minorly or majorly let down by(here’s looking at you, Thaprachan, Savatdee, and Phayathai! SeaThai, you don’t even make the list.) For now at least, O’Ginger is my new go-to.

Seriously I am truly suspect of the reviews for this restaurant. Maybe I’m Asian so I know what this stuff should taste like… I tried 4 of their«specialities» dishes. Simply put it is the worst that I’ve had in Seattle. Especially if this was their signature dish. The food lacked flavor, the quality of ingredients were cheap, it didn’t taste Thai. The staff was nice tho.

It’s a very good place for Chinese cuisine with a reasonable price, especially the lunch special. I usually come here for 4 – 5 times a week. This time I come in with my friend for a quick lunch. The lunch special combination is tasty. The corn fish is also very delicious. The service is also good. Five stars.

Came in with a friend for a quick dinner last night after strolling around Green Lake for a while; was not disappointed. This may become my go-to Thai place. I just moved to Seattle from the East Coast, and one of my biggest hesitations about leaving was that I’d have to leave my tried and true neighborhood Thai place behind(half-joke). Is this its successor??? Maybe. They do delivery too, so I look forward to taking advantage of that on dark wintery nights when I want delicious food and do not want to leave the building. ;) My friend got the pad thai with chicken and I got the pad see iew, also with chicken. We both cleaned our plates. I can really only speak to the pad see iew, which had the typical wide/soft noodles I love so much, was chock full of fresh crunchy veggies, and had plentiful chicken pieces that weren’t gross(let’s be honest, oftentimes casual asian places do not use the best cuts of meat, amIright?). For spice level, I requested 3 out of 4, and it wasn’t all that spicy. Maybe they’re among those restaurants that(perhaps wisely) have an adapted white-person spicy scale. Next time I might have to try a 4 and see how it comes out! Ambiance was nicer than I’d anticipated, very clean and comfortable. Service was prompt and friendly. The waiter even got a little goofy with us, when, despite having demolished our own dinners, we lusted after full plates going by us on their way to the next table down. Perhaps after a few more experiences I’ll be willing to up the rating to 5 stars if other dishes really impress me. For now, I’m a fan!

Solid go-to Thai restaurant in our neighborhood. We’ve ordered the panang curry and pad see ew twice and enjoyed both dishes. The first time we did forget to ask for rice with the curry(apparently it doesn’t automatically come with it). Price is also very reasonable for everything we got! Glad it’s so close to our house.

A great Thai-Chinese fusion restaurant. The menu is small compared to many Chinese or other Asian restaurants, but what they do, they do well. Service was great: the owner is very friendly and attentive. The Thai tea is very authentic and not overly sweet. Today I had the chicken satay, which was pretty good with or without the sauce. I was happy that it wasn’t as dry as most meat skewers you get in Thai places. I also had the Pad See Eew with beef, which was phenomenal. The medium-level spice left just the right tingling on my lips and tongue, and a nice slow afterburn in my stomach. The vegetables were the PERFECT balance of tender and crunchy, and there was not a single bite of gristly, wasted meat. Amazing! PS: To all the vegans/vegetarians giving one-star reviews(here and elsewhere); knock it off. There are several vegetarian options on the menu here, and if you choose to go off menu with all your special requests, that is not the fault of the restaurant. A chef is trying to give you an experience, and if you want to order a typically meat-based item, then request everything to be stripped out of it that makes it what it is, do not expect greatness. What you are now eating is something entirely different, and that’s your problem, not the chef’s.

Sad waste of a star. We are both Vegetarians; so of course we explained this to our waiter. We ordered the Golden cashew with Tofu and the Veggie Pad Thai. Was told several times(unasked) during the order process that fish sauce would not be used. Great, we were very happy by that. He asked if we could have the egg with the Pad Thai, we said yes since we aren’t vegans. So our food comes out; it looks pleasant enough for us to snap a few photos for all you fine folks. Then we each took a bite of the Tofu there was a very STRONG fishy flavor. After almost gagging we called over the waiter and politely told him that there was definitely some sort of fish sauce ALL over it. He said no no no, we said yes, yes, yes; so he walked it to the very nearby entrance to the kitchen and loudly asked, which was answered with Oyster Sauce! Yikes!!! NO animal deserves to die to feed us! Fully grossed out, we wanted to leave but agreed for them to remake it. Warily took new bites, which although they were no longer laden with animals, they were not laden with any flavor of any kind. BTW: no egg showed up on the pad Thai either. Really wanted to like this place, it’s pretty, but that’s it. Be Wary Fellow Vegetarians/Vegans

My family and I tried O’Ginger because of an awesome Groupon they had going on, but we will most definitely be back! The restaurant is a little hard to find if you’re not super familiar with the Greenlake area, but there’s a good amount of street parking in the surrounding neighborhood. The space is really new, clean, and attractive. The service was also great. Now, the restaurant was pretty empty when we were there, only a few others tables were sat – but the waiter was attentive and super nice. But let’s talk about the food. We got the Lhaksa noodle soup, phad thai, and panang curry with beef. The noodle soup was so flavorful and tasty, and so was the panang curry with amazingly tender beef. Usually the beef you get in curry or noodle dishes can tend on the dry side, but this beef was none of those things! The phad thai was also pretty good – flavorful but not overly sweet like some phad thais can be. The only reason I didn’t give this place five stars is because I’ve only had a few things here so I can’t really speak to the rest of the menu. Hopefully once we have, I’ll be able to update my review to five stars!

I am Thai and I don’t like Thai food there. Fresh row – peanut sauce is too sweet. Pad se iw — really greasy. My husband like it so I guess this one not too bad. Chicken satay – bland chicken. Roti – not special. Really flat and thin, no flaky texture. The service is quite bad. The waitress sat and eat with another table near us. So I feel strange to ask for sauce or bill because she has to get up from her table. I don’t think I will go back. Not authentic Thai food.

My girlfriend and I tried O’Ginger Bistro as part of a $ 12 for $ 20 groupon deal. We showed up around 6:30 on a Tuesday night and had the entire restaurant to ourselves. The ambiance was lovely and very tastefully decorated. My girlfriend ordered Pad See-Lew with tofu and I ordered Spicy Noodles with chicken and prawns. We both thought the food was good(my girlfriend is rather unpicky) with the exception of a few small quirks. I did feel that my noodles were a smidge on the greasy side and although the prawns in the spicy noodles were HUGE they also had a texture that was indicative of being pre-cooked and re-warmed. Overall it was a great place to dine, service was quick and attentive and I would have no hesitation coming back again!

–Mongolian beef(medium spice level) — I thought this was more mild than medium. Other than that it was pretty much what I expected. The bell peppers still had a bit of crunch to it, which was great. –Pork Fried Rice-Pork was pretty dry. If I eat here again I’d get regular fried rice. –Orange Chicken-My kids liked it. I thought the portion would be a tad larger, but it was enough for my 7 and 4 year old. I tasted a bit of the sauce and found it to be too sweet for my liking, but that’s a personal taste preference. The menu description was accurate. Spring Rolls-Definitely something I’d order again. Not sure about the plum sauce. I don’t know what it’s supposed to taste like, but it seemed like it was fermenting? I ordered this meal through Bite Squad, because of a deal they had going. My meal seemed to be in the«verification» stage for a while before it was picked up for delivery. Not sure whose issue that is, but it resulted in my food being lukewarm when it arrived(I live about 8 minutes away). That, however, isn’t reflected in my rating because that could easily be a Bite Squad issue. Overall, the meal was average.
