Established in 1996.

NuCulinary was conceived to provide home cooks a way to learn about Asian cusines through cooking, eating and community. We began teaching in a 10 seat cooking counter and now provide cooking classes in three Seattle/​Bellevue/​Renton locations; corporate team building through cooking and private cooking parties for adults and children.

Naomi K.

Business Owner

Naomi Kakiuchi, RD, CD, CCP is President and Founder of NuCulinary, a culinary education firm which creates community through cooking. An expert in Asian cuisine and culture, Naomi translates the essence of food and society to inspire and motivate home cooks to explore new worlds in the comfort of their own kitchen. A gifted teacher and a registered dietitian, Naomi makes nutrition and cooking accessible and fun with learning about local foodways and authentic ancient Asian food practices.

She has produced the popular The Art of Sushi DVD’s on how-​to-​make sushi rolls, nigiri, and sashimi. (www​.TheArtOf​SushiDVD​.com). She is a contributing author to The American Dietetic Association Cooking Across America Cookbook and frequent speaker to TV, radio and corporations on Asian cuisine, wellness and farmers markets.

Prior to NuCulinary, Naomi directed large food service operations and provided food sales and consultation for numerous Fortune 500 food companies.
