Just wanted to update our review of NW Painting. We continued to use Travis and his terrific team over the years for several painting projects with the same consistent quality results. They did a fabulous job painting the exterior of our home and staining our deck; they gave our older 1950’s home a complete facelift. When we put the home on the market last summer it sold in one day, due in no small part to the beautiful paint job that gave it such wonderful curb appeal. Travis’ crew expressed our pride in ownership beautifully. They get our highest recommendation.

Travis is professional, on-​time and easy to work with. His crew takes pride in doing a great job and works well with tenants. I’ll use his services in the future and recommend his services.

Victor and Jesus did an excellent job in prep, painting, staining, cleaning, everything. Very professional, detail-​minded, courteous, and delightful to be around. Travis and crew just completed a large, 5 week exterior paint job at our home. We are 100% satisfied with their work, attention to detail and experience dealing with challenges like 90 year old paint, lead abatement and a combination of aging stucco and shingles. It was a pleasure working with Travis and team to have the entire interior of our home painted. From the estimate to the color consultation to the actual painting, everything was handled in a friendly and professional manner. We love the paint color that Travis helped us pick (after picking a color on our own months before that left our home feeling cold and sterile). Travis was a big help making our repainting go smoothly. He came out and showed us exactly what his team was going to do to our house step-​by-​step, which really put us at ease. It was great having a professional team come out and do a job, that would have taken me a few weeks of hard labor by myself, in practically no time. Great experience. Super affordable. And I’m really happy with the results. We will definitely go back to Travis and his team at NW Residential again.

This was a big project for us most of our house needed painting along with the kitchen cabinets and new doors. We had multiple problems with the manufacturers of the doors but thanks to NW residential and commercial painting the issues caused by another contractor were resolved. Travis and company came up with great solutions to resolve these problems (dings, dents, holes drilled incorrectly) and made our lives a lot easier as well as saved us a lot of time.
Anyone who has ever done a remodel before knows there are always issues and we had no lack of them, that is for certain! NW residential stands behind their work and if something is not right, they will do it or redo it until it meets your standards.
My wife and i are very happy with the results and couldn’t have asked for more. They are not the cheapest out there but this is proof that you don’t have to be the most expensive to be the best and be proud of your work!

Travis and his team did an amazing job painting our new house. We didn’t think we’d need it, but ultimately we benefited greatly from his consultation on colors. They were incredibly detailed, I can’t find a single missed stroke of paint in the entire house, it just looks perfect. We added a bedroom onto the list of rooms to paint at the last minute and his team had no problem adding it on and making it look great. We will definitely use Northwest when we get our exterior painted!

Travis Kunkel, the owner, is a consummate professional and an experienced businessman. He took us through color selection (more valuable than you think it is), paint materials, and took us step-​by-​step through the entire process. He is tremendously detail-​oriented and so is his crew. They painted two rooms in our house, the kitchen and master bedroom, and the work is immaculate. They moved the large pieces of furniture and after a day’s work, you would never have known there were painters in the house at all — it was that clean. No hyperbole there, it really was spotless. Travis came in the next day for a walk-​through (how many paint contractors do THAT?) and personally touched up a couple of places to perfection. Then he asked us more questions about the quality of the work, wanted feedback on the crew, and all in all, made us feel as though we were his only client… which we are not, by any means. He’s quite popular, and those who have used his services know why. He goes the extra step, the extra mile… whatever it takes to do the job not just right, but excellently. I just can’t recommend him enough. He made the whole process perfect for us, and we’ll use him again. In fact, we are using him again for another job — already signed him up. I’m on his reference list, which is a mile long, filled with pretty much anyone he’s ever done work for. Call him, and feel free to call me, too. You’ll be nothing but satisfied. These guys are that good.

Travis runs his business with honesty and a high level of care to quality. As a Remodel General Contractor I have been more than pleased with his Craftsmanship and attention to detail. His attention to service is excellent and I will continue to use him on all of my future projects.

My career in event production requires me to work with tons of contractors: electricians, painters, welders, lighting designers, carpenters, grip, photographers, video editors, etc. in multiple loctions nationwide, simultaneously.
Travis is hands down the most professional, experienced, and thoughtful contractor I have had the pleasure of working with. I once saw him match a difficult color swatch in near darkness. And he nailed it!!!

travis and his crew exceeded every expectation i had, from the fastest response time ever (especially on a weekend), squeezing in my paint job in the middle of all their other business (in the week between christmas and new years, no less), working around my schedule to do the color consultations, helping me to pick the perfect colors for my living space, going out of the way to handle unexpected events (like replacing a screw in my roof that was leaking water on the ceiling), and just being generally friendly and easy to work with. i can’t say enough good things about this company and will most definitely recommend them and hire them again.
i chose them based on Unilocal reviews, and they deserve every star they’ve been given. a person would be foolish to work with any other paint crew.

When it comes to painting my mediocre experiences abound – I’ve had painters come and do the job just well enough that I couldn’t ask them to do the entire job over again – even though being the perfectionist that I am I wanted it done just so.
Travis and his team are anything but mediocre – not only are they fast and efficient but they’re also extremely good at executing those little things that transform a painting job from mediocre to spectacular. I’m hard to impress but I was floored by how good their work on my house was. I highly recommend them.

Travis provided the marvelous faux finishes and interior painting when I opened my business in downtown Edmonds four years ago. He was very helpful in choosing a warm color palette which gives us a welcoming feel and provides a mental uplift during the long grey winter months. His working approach was very professional and clean — and I appreciated his willingness to explain the various material usages and reasoning behind different surface preparations. I still feel extremely satisfied with the overall look — it remains in great condition continues to provide a relaxing work atmosphere.

We just had Northwest Residential & Commercial Painting Co. complete the exterior painting of our home. Travis, along with his crew, were absolutely wonderful to work with during the process. They showed up on time, were polite, patient and cleaned up all the areas in which they were working. Anytime I sent an email or left a phone message for Travis, he promptly responded. Customer service is definitely a top priority for Travis, and it shows. The painting was done with care and looks gorgeous. We also needed referrals for some other work (new chimney and some wood rot repair), and Travis provided some top notch options for us. All around, it was a great experience. Travis and his team are true craftsmen. For starters, the color consultation, which I had assumed was some combination of up-​sell and finger-​in-​the-​air marketing baloney, was a life-​saver. It was careful and wise and tasteful, with Travis finding a way to guide us even when we were at loggerheads. Travis steered us away from garish colors, suggesting other tones that would still be fun without being too Peewee’s-Big-Adventure. He volunteered where we could use cheaper paint that was actually higher quality than what we had in mind.
And then, even though we have plenty of trim around the house, the painting itself was perfect. Travis got it done on time and on budget, and in the process transformed a saturnine series of rooms into a warmer, happier place. When removing equipment, someone on Travis’s team nicked a wall and unasked, Travis came back and made that perfect too. His taste, judgment, and commitment to getting the job done made him the best painter with whom we’ve ever worked.

Travis and his guys just finished painting my entire 900 sq foot condo, from top to bottom and every accent and trim. The bottom line: they did a marvelous and top-​quality job.
Travis had come by on numerous occasions the previous week or two to see the job, make an estimate, help me with colors, etc. He’s courteous and prompt and really knows his stuff.
The whole experience was great, his employee’s are polite and mindful and the paint job is pristine. I am a meticulous person and during the final walkthru, if Travis saw even the tiniest thing (things even my picky eyes would have never seen) that he didn’t think was perfect, he’d have his guys all over it in no time. In fact, Travis himself sanded and re-​painted my doors several times because he wasn’t happy how the paint was drying on them the first time around.
They completely protected the floors and furniture and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone who was looking for the best paint job possible.
