Delicious! What a great idea too. I got the OG. The pastrami was tender, juicy and flavorful. The latkes were cooked just right. Definitely do need those napkins! ;) but totally worth it! Highly recommend checking them out of you get the chance.

This is a strong 3-and-a-half star review, but since you can’t do that, I’m bumping it to four for the unique food they offer. I had never heard of this truck, but ate here because they were at a brewery I had been to. It is a pretty good truck, serving latke(potato pancake) press sandwiches. I did not know what latkes were until I ate here, and was surprised that my sandwich was not between bread.(They also replace latkes with bread on request) The latkes were somewhat like the gold-coin hash browns you get at iHop. I liked how they were not too greasy even though they seemed shallow fried. i was impressed with the concept. We tried the classic combo and the bltga. The classic combo has apple in it, which was not too appealing, but upon eating it, I was surprised at the crunch it gave the sandwich. Their sauces are excellent and the flavor went well. However, the apple gave it a taste sweeter than I’d like. My friend got the bltga, which also was excellent and flavorful. They don’t have a lot of options for sandwiches, and I hope they include more variety, possibly a tofu press sandwich. The prices are also a bit steep, with the sandwiches from $ 10 – 12. This would be fine if it was filling, but the sandwiches are really small, the size of a burger king whopper, and one is not going to be enough. It is the most unique sandwich I’ve had, but definitely not the best or even on the top of my list. I’d recommend people to try it, but it’s not worth going out of the way to eat here.

I am INLOVE. If you like potato, you will loveeeee these sandwiches. Just, perfect fried heaven. Not too heavy, not too greasy, substantial enough to replace bread, tastey as all get-out. My boyfriend said this is the best thing he’s eaten since we moved up to Seattle, about 5 months ago… I might agree with him. He ordered the OG and I ordered the Classic Combo. We also ended up ordering a salad(cucumber, tomato, red onion, and a dressing of some sort). The latkes stood up to the test and were sturdy, yet a perfect consistency. Crunchy, soft in the middle, fried lovelies. My classic combo was DELIGHTFUL. I was genuinely concerned when I saw how thick the slice of Apple was in the middle but it was rounded out by all of the other ingredients. The texture was also a great match with the latkes. I’m drooling just reminiscing. My boyfriend loved his sandwich and would eat them like Kobayashi. He doesn’t normally like pastrami and the menu says there is a horseradish on it, not a favorite of his, but he still loved it. He said it had such depth of flavor with the pastrami, the delicious cheese, then with the sauces added to all of it … Flavor that evolves in your mouth to a 10⁄10 sandwich. Good service, friendly, cute truck, didn’t stink like some I’ve been to. Overall, 5 stars. I’m in love. Ties with Bongos for my #1 place in Seattle.

Everything this truck serves up is a hit. Their latke sandwiches are delicious and filling. However, when you want something«lighter», you must try the matzoh ball soup. So fresh and light — the original health food! Also, they serve everything in compostable and/or recyclable containers, even the utensils… that’s how great they are!

Napkin Friends is a food truck specializing in latke press sandwiches. What is unique about this truck is that they use latke pancakes as the«bread» of a sandwich. Interesting concept. I tried out this truck earlier this fall at a Crossroads Farmers Market food truck event. They have four different kinds of latke sandwiches. I decided to order the O. G($ 10) as I was drew in by the description as the sandwich includes house made pastrami. I had a weak stomach, so I was not sure if ordering this sandwich was a good idea. Aside from pastrami, the sandwich has Mama Lil’s peppers, horseradish cream and gruyère cheese. The first two in particular worrying me. I was concerned the peppers would be really spicy and I am not a fan of horseradish, so I try to avoid ordering anything with it. Despite my concerns, this sandwich was quite delicious. The sandwich was not spicy like I feared and the horseradish was hard to taste. You probably wouldn’t know it was there unless you read the sandwich description. The sandwich was quite evenly flavored. The pastrami tasted great and matches well with the gruyère which has a restrained flavor that is similar to Swiss cheese. And the latkes really do work as the«bread». The price tag of this sandwich is a bit on the high side. But I feel that it is worth the price because it is an unique eat. If I had to choose between a typical boring $ 8 deli style sandwich and a latke sandwich at Napkin Friends, I would pay the extra couple bucks more for the latter.

So, so delicious. I have to work not to hit up this food truck every Friday. Their BLTA is amazing and so good – the addition of gouda makes it so much better. The staff is always super nice and everything is priced nicely. Cannot say enough nice things about the food or the people who run it.

Ok. First time I saw these guys was at stoup brewery. I was starving and hanging with friends but latke sandwiches just struck me as weird. I was gonna bounce and head elsewhere until a friend in the know let me in on a little secret. These latke sandwiches are a gift from the culinary gods. The OG is the OMG. It is the heat. I now stalk them online and if I’m anywhere near I plan my day to include lunch with these little devils. Find the truck. Or book the truck. Or stumble on it. But just eat here.

This place is awesome! I tried the OG Sandwich, a pastrami sandwich with horseradish, arugula, Mama Li’l Peppers all between two latke potato pancakes in place of bread! It was sooo good. I found this truck during the Bellevue ChowDown event and after I took my sandwich to the picnic tables my friends were all jealous, thus two of my friends got the same sandwich after trying mine. The pastrami was homemade and they give you a lot in the OG sandwich and the horseradish sauce was sharp and addicting. I also liked that extra spice from the peppers. But the heart of this sandwich, as it should be, were the latkes. SOOO yummy!

Wow, that is all I want to say but that will not do them Justice. I hired Napkin Friends to do a lunch at a company function. Johnny and his crew are very professional and on top of it. Highly recommend them, even if you want to grab a bite to eat. Personally, I had their O.G. and they served a stone fruit salad with it. Excellent! Their house-made ingredients including the pastrami was awesome. Not to mention, the latke’s that enclose the sandwich are good to just eat on their own, I couldn’t get enough! Over the week of our event we had several food vendors, the only time I received email compliments was when Napkin Friends served the company lunch. Some of their comments are below: «Thank’s for organizing the food this week, it’s been great and the OG today… best pastrami sandwich I’ve ever had! Can I get a spare ticket?» «Amazing choice! I devoured my sandwich!» Thank you again Napkin Friends, excellent.

Super creative and gastronomically blissful! Had the O. G without the horsey sauce. I thought it was fantastic. The latkes were crispy and delicious and the rest of the sandwich was a great compliment. I’m not always a fan of thousand island dressing, but this was a really good one. They were also offering some fresh peaches with mint and they were delicious! Highly recommend this place!

Great concept, really friendly staff and the right price. Sadly, it failed in execution. Napkin Friends came to my place of work and has quite a following with my colleges. It was super easy to say«yes» to a sandwich made with latkes and I am always game for a happy-messy-meal. Presentation was right and it looked great, but it really(REALLY) needed salt. Salt in the latke and finishing salt would have made the flavors pop. Chicken and potatoes are rather bland without the support of our friend salt. The latke itself needed to be cooked better; the edges were crisp perfect, but the center was a mushy sadness. I expected the sandwich to fall apart on my napkins from general delicious, not because the structure of the sandwich was built on soggy. The above typed, maybe it was just an off day or an off batch that I experience. The price point is cool and considering the other reviews, you may want to check it out. Me? I will pass. My impression at the end of this would-be-yummy-with-more-salt-sandwich is just thatL would be yummy.. .unfortunately, wasn’t

Napkin Friends was at Bellevue Crossroads farmers market yesterday. We tried the OG sandwich and the latkes with sour cream. The latkes were great(eaten alone or as the«bread» on the sandwich. The pastrami was perfect. The sandwich also came with arugula, red peppers, horseradish dressing, melted cheese, and a pickle on the side. It’s very filling so while $ 10 is a high price for a sandwich, I don’t think it’s terribly overpriced for what you’re getting, which is something pretty special. Keep in mind, it’s a total calorie bomb. But one that’s worth it!

I picked up the truck in Lower Queen Anne and all I have to say is just try it. It is absolutely amazing! I got the BLTGA sandwich and will definitely be finding the truck to order again. I am also gluten free so the fact that you have Potato Latke’s as the«bread» is a major bonus for my eating choices.

Finger licking deliciousness! I met up with the truck in South Lake Union — There was a huge line and I found out it was because they were doing a special Passover menu. I waited in line to order and in the mean time, they ran out of the brisket sandwich. I ordered chicken instead and my co-workers ordered the smoked salmon and vegi options. The sandwiches are made with potato pancakes and inside was yummy goodness– roasted chicken, sun dried tomato jam, mint/pesto spread, grilled onions and more! We traded tastes and each sandwich was delicious! I will be back!

Finally got to try this place — Tried the OG and the Matzoh ball soup. the OG — Pretty good. The Pastrami was a little tough to eat, it’s hard to bit pieces from it so you end up slurping up entire slices of pastrami in each bite. I liked the taste of the sandwich overall, good amount of veggies + meat. The latkes were a little under-seasoned — think they could be a tad more salty. The soup — also a little underseasoned but there is a good amount in that bowl. Comes up with 2 matzoh balls, and some celery/carrots(a bit raw) and a couple pieces of chicken too. A little on the spendy side. I’d give them 3.5 stars but up to 4 — I like the concept!

I don’t really think a sandwich on latkes can ever really be bad but there are definitely things I would have liked changed with what I had tonight. I ordered the BLTGA sandwich and a side of their cucumber, tomato and red onion salad. It was good, something I would go back for but it wasn’t as amazing as I had expected it to be. The sandwich itself was bacon, tomato, smoked Gouda, avocado and peppadew aioli between 2 latkes. Those were crisp and well seasoned. You definitely taste the latkes but to me, it was most of what I tasted. I could barely taste the bacon(could have been crispy) and didn’t really get much of the aioli. I expected a bit more flavor out of this sandwich. The salad was good too although the cucumbers were a bit too pickled for my taste. I do understand that they can easily get that way when the salad is pre-made. I was just expecting to taste more of the fresh cucumber along with the onions and tomato with a nice vinaigrette. I do like this truck and I’ll go back but I think a few tweets would make it fantastic.
