Five stars, unreservedly.
Manager Dave Davis is knowledgeable, professional, and pleasant. My original problem was a flat tire, plus two balding tires, in an oddball size that I couldn’t find at other tire stores.
Midas had a sale, but unfortunately not including those tires.
Dave went the extra mile to work with me, ordering the last 4 tires from Goodyear, throwing in an alignment, and doing the service in one day, for less than I could have spent on 3 tires elsewhere.
When I noticed a severe squeak in the rear after picking up the car, Dave obligingly set an appointment for the next working day. They performed a free brake check, cleaned the surfaces for free, did not try to upsell me. That appears to have solved the squeak for now.
One thing more — Midas’s building is attached to the Aurora Donuts building, and hard to spot from the street.

5 stars for associate Ryan and other guys there. Great service in a rush situation and also they helped me to get a discount. Happy!Prices are affordable and people are nice at this location.

I found a coupon online which included a oil change and tire rotation for $ 29.99. I am always looking for a new place that has great deals and won’t pressure me. I called, got a appointment the next day as showed up at my scheduled time.
I was greeted nicely, and wasn’t pressured into any extra services including synthetic oil which some places have told me I needed, but per Chevrolet I don’t (2012 Chevy Sonic). They told me it would be a hour, I went to the nearby stores for shopping and came back in a hour and my car was done! When I showed up that was it! No added pressure of anything extra. My car was fine and they said my tire tread was fine and I didn’t need my tires rotated.
As a woman I am always afraid of going new places as I have been to some chain places where they are always trying to add on extras like air filters or extra services. I got and paid exactly what I wanted and I am very happy with my experience here. I will be back!

Awesome! So helpful and nice! Didn’t try and upswell me on my oil change even though I had a coupon. Really quick service! Way better than any jiffy lube I’ve been to! Wish they had a more friendly kid area is all! Definitely will return

I just got off the phone with Dave and I couldn’t be much happier. I took my car in a few weeks ago and had $ 2000 worth of work done on it. There was a minor problem that wasn’t addressed because, if I recall correctly, they couldn’t get the problem to replicate in the shop. So I took my car home and the problem happened on the way home and then a couple weeks later. I brought the car back in and they fixed it. Because it was an issue that could have been resolved with all of the previous labor, I was only charged this time for the parts it took to fix it.
I’m very pleased with the service I’ve received and the sense of fairness that I feel they used to solve the problem. I will return.

I came in her a few days ago to get some estimates and an overall inspection on my vehicle. I was scheduled an apt with Kenny and I brought my car in. Kenny was very honest about what I did and did not need done. He was even nice enough to help me prioritize which things my car needed and how long until certain things needed servicing. He was a really nice guy. I didint really talk to anyone else but everyone seemed pretty nice they were very organized and the lobby was clean. I definitely will be back. Daniel at the front desk is super nice highly recommend this midas over the other ones in Seattle. Came in 30 min early and was able to get my car in as soon as I walked in.

Bought my little Ford Focus in here for an oil change, booked it two days earlier, let them know I only had two hours and made sure this was adequate.
Arrived early, let them know what problems we thought we might have and if they could check them out. All of which could have been very expensive.
Came back and the car was ready, he’d gone over all our concerns and couldn’t see any major issues.
Would definitely recommend and go back

I don’t understand how this place got any bad reviews! I RECOMMEND THIS PLACE! It is a very fun atmosphere. «Tony» and his team kept me laughing the entire time I was waiting to have my car fixed. I was provided with money saving discounts and even ice cream! You HAVE to come here!

Sad to say, I didn’t have a great experience with my last oil change. The usual two gentlemen that I’ve worked with before weren’t managing the front the day I went in for JUST an oil change. With the oil change you get your tires rotated and a courtesy check of your car. About an hour later as I was hanging out at the park, I get a call from «T» stating that my rear brakes were metal to metal and that they need to be changed. I had a feeling something would be said about my front brakes, but not my rear brakes. I was told I wasn’t being pressured but it sounded urgent. I was given an estimate that I was not comfortable with and I questioned why wouldn’t I hear the metal grinding if my rear brakes were metal to metal. Upon return to the station, I asked again about my rear brakes being metal to metal and how I was told over the phone how I wouldn’t be able to hear them grinding. I was told that the rear brake is internal and no I wouldn’t hear any grinding (I have a drum brake in the rear), but then the story changed and in fact my rear brakes were NOT metal to metal but close. I left feeling skeptical about the rear brake diagnosis but thankful for the quick oil change.
I spoke with a trusted family mechanic and I was told to bring it in because the diagnosis didn’t sound right. And I did confirm that I would hear metal grinding despite it being a drum brake. Turns out my front brake pads did need changing — as I suspected I would need to do eventually but it was actually in need of changing sooner vs later because I reported hearing the start of some squeaking in recent weeks, thus wear. Midas was correct about the front brakes. As for the rear brakes, they were not metal to metal as was initially relayed to me by Midas. I still have plenty of good use on the rear brake shoes (with my driving style, commute, city, etc, I have plenty of time — I could go another 30K miles before changing) and the rotor & drum are in good condition. The shop estimates were pretty high in my opinion, over $ 700 at the higher end of the damage scenario, $ 500 at the lower end of the scenario.
In the end, the cost to change my front brake pads was around $ 60 for parts (labor was free of charge) and plenty of time to change out my rear brake shoes.
In the end, get a second opinion. Don’t feel like you have to get something done right then and there. Get them to put it in writing, they usually do, and shop around. If your car was running fine to begin with, like mine, you still have time to shop around. Don’t fall for pressure tactics tapping into your sense of safety and damage to your vehicle. If you know your car and have a good sense when something is wrong, trust your instincts. Educate yourself, too. Don’t go in wide-​eyed and easy to sway. Use the power of the internet and friends.
I have enjoyed working with the gentlemen who used to work the front desk at Midas in the past and the gentlemen who worked on my car in the shop, but this last experience was disappointing given my history with the shop. I have appreciated their skill and care of my car. Needless to say I am looking for a new auto shop after this last experience, but on a positive note, I now know a lot more about my brakes.

I hate to burst the 1 review, 5 star bubble here, but this place immediately left me feeling uneasy. It was a just a quick drive-​by oil change and a tire/​shock/​strut inspection. They need to move the dude that was up front to the back. Super Shady-​McShadester!
I call, give my car detail, guy quotes me $ 400 for 4 shocks. I walk in, and he says it’s now $ 500. Then he checks the car and I says have only two shocks? What? In fact I have no shocks, only struts.
He then tells me my tires are bald and need replacement. Doesn’t give me a measurement, just says they need replacement. That’s a $ 700 bill buddy!
He tells me it’ll take 45 mins to 1 hour for oil change. I’m at the store next door and he calls and says he doesn’t have my keys. I’m back and hand him the keys in 5 minutes tops. At the 50 minute mark I ask him what the deal is, he says I’m next and lost my place because of the keys. Excuse me?
I walk.
I drive to Meineke on 85^th and Aurora. SURPRISE. Tire tread is at ⁶⁄₃₂ inch. ⁴⁄₃₂ is general replacement, and ²⁄₃₂ is legal minimum, for reference. I don’t need tires right now. I find out that car has no shocks, but long lasting struts. I get a full inspection (they waive the $ 20), transmission flush, and oil change for $ 160 out the door. YES!
Maybe Midas would have found that my car doesn’t need any of this. Maybe they would have provided an honest opinion/​quote and would have provided good mechanical work, and maybe not. Not going to talk my chances.

Went in for an oil change. They did a free diagnostic and concluded that I need new rear brakes immediately and that the front brakes were about 50% worn and that they could change them all at once. I had a friend who happens to be a mechanic change the front brake pads just 2 months prior. At this time my friend checked the rear brakes and said it would be a few years until i need to think about changing them. These guys are deceptive. I won’t be back.

What a complete rip-​off! I have been to this same place twice for different issues and funny enough each time the bill ended up being just south of $ 1000. The last time I decided to shop around a little. I went to 2 different shops, on Aurora, and both places I went to were under $ 450! Less than half! Both places (which I will review seperately) basically said that they get people like me all the time saying the same thing about Midas. AVOID AT ALL COST!

We had a problem with our Emergency brake handle, the manager came out and took a look at it and fixed it in a matter of seconds, he didn’t even charge me! I told him I’d be back…
So a few months later we come back for an AC problem, it smelled awful, I think something crawled up inside and died, anyway, they «fixed» it which basically was meant they sprayed some kind of $ 10 hooker perfume in attempts to cover up the rotten/​mold smell, on top of «sealing» the AC unit.
After a few months the smell came back, I called them up and they told us to bring it back and drop it off. After being without a vehicle for a day and again the fix was more of that $ 10 hooker perfume being sprayed around in the vents. I gave up and haven’t been back. Needless to say, when the manager’s away the smart-​assed lazy «worker» bees sit on their collective asses and pass the buck…
