John did a great job remodeling our bathroom (due to an HOA insurance claim from a neighbor’s leak). He was responsive and did everything that we asked. He was great with our dog too!

I have to echo the complaints of another Unilocaler that had their HOA hire this company.
Frustration and aggravation could have been avoided if they made a decent effort to communicate with residents or try to follow through with a schedule.
Communication has been horrible, It’s taken them over 6 weeks to finish a deck that should have taken 5 days max. Every time you try and get an answer you just get another excuse. I think i’m up to 4 different excuses as to why they can’t complete the project that has left us without a deck for getting close to two months right in the middle of summer.
Not to mention the decks that have been completed are not level and will probably need to be redone in the near future. Complaints or issues you have with them largely go ignored.
If something is on their timeline there’s a good chance they’ll just start doing it earlier with no notice or not get to it and leave you hanging. Example: with no notice they just started painting our garage, I work from home and couldn’t get the car out since they decided that would be the day they paint it. Would it have been so hard to ring a door bell or send a note the day before??? Wait… actually they do send notes with a specific date on them for work to be completed, but rarely start the work on the day of the notice.
My hope is our HOA will recognize the issues residents have had with this company and not hire them again. Sadly I think our HOA is just as inept as this company.

We are in the middle of a remodel with Mcbride Construction. and Kaylan our contractor as gone above and beyond to meet our budgets and ensure our needs are met!!! Every Person I have worked with from this company has been AMAZING!!!

We employed the services of McBride for a large water damage claim and was covered by insurance and McBride was recommend by our insurance company. The were completely unprofessional, walk out of the job mid project for another project and never can back. We had to start over with a new company that did a fantastic job. In addition McBride charged us for work they never performed before they left the project. I would avoid using this company if at all possible

I was referred to McBride by my insurance company for a leak in my walls. The leak turned out to be an installation error, and after signing off on having them do the exploratory work, at an estimated cost of $ 1,367, they came back to me with a full proposal on repairs. In doing my due diligence I shopped around and ended up going with another company. When I asked for the bill on the exploratory I was dumbfounded to receive a bill for over $ 3400 — just to tear in to my walls and tell me what the problem was! The original bid was totally misrepresented — they said they would need 2 men for approximately 8 hours and the bill I received was for at least 5 men for over 40 hours of labor! Again, JUST TO DIG IN TO MY WALLS AND NOT DO ANY REPAIRS. I have never been so disgusted with a company. i can only imagine how over budget they would have been had I chosen to go with them. I ended up paying about $ 2400 — and I only did as I was — and still am — so disgusted that I couldn’t stand to deal with them any more. I feel they are dishonest and misrepresented themselves and the scope of the job. Beware.

The HOA for the condo where I live hired McBride to do the roof, siding and deck replacement on a 5-​building complex. They started last June 2013. They were due to be done with our building in March. They haven’t published updates on the timeline (now two months over the deadline) since they revised to May. They have done ¹⁄₅ of the siding.
I spoke to an independent contractor who looked at the siding on our unit. He mentioned concerns about the following:
1.) the gaps between the siding
2.) whether the siding was appropriately primed on cut seam of the siding in the gap on the inseam prior to installation
3.) the hack job done on the piece near the top of the building.
4.) the weeks that have gone by without a complete and proper paint job
They hire unskilled laborers and don’t supervise them appropriately.
When they were redoing our roof, they incorrectly covered our roof such that 5 gallons of water leaked into our home. They cut 13 holes in our home, half within access of our small children, and left them open for more than 2 months. One day they came to repair them and said that the would not because our unit might be hot for asbestos. We spent $ 250 out of pocket to find out that they were wrong and then based on that finding the finally repaired the 13 holes in our walls caused by their improper water coverage.
Our decks have been unrailed for 6 months. The windows they replaced were done without screens, so our two toddlers have an unscreened window in their room facing unrailed decks while they move on to demo other buildings and do nothing to construct. The project manger, Tim, is non-​responsive or fails to deliver results. His last excuse was that they didn’t have manpower, and the next day they started siding on another building that was earlier in the process than ours, indicating his excuse was a complete lie or that he’s too far from the process to actually know anything.
They threw away my son’s tricycle and a jogging stroller that we stored outside without notifying us, and after I had spoken with 3 of the contractors about whether the stroller was fine, and being assured that it was.
What can I say, go have every tooth in your mouth removed for fun, if you hire McBride because it’s just about as enjoyable and good for your life.

About four years ago the roof of my condo started leaking, right on top of my bed, and my condo assn called McBride Construction out to take a look. Turns out this section of roof had never been installed correctly and so we hired McBride to redo the roof and to re-​sheetrock my bedroom ceiling. Everything went well– great communication.
Last week the ceiling started leaking again, in the same spot, and so I called McBride to see if the original work was still under warranty. They were very responsive and Rick came out immediately and climbed on the 4-​story roof (which isn’t easy to get to) with his roofer to see what was up. Turns out that the company who recently painted our building put nails in the roof for safety harnesses and when they pulled out the nails they didn’t patch the holes. There were holes everywhere. It had nothing to do with the work that McBride had done four years earlier. So yes, McBride does amazing work, but more importantly, they stand behind their work. I would highly recommend them.

Our experience with McBride Construction Seattle was terrible. We were referred to them after a broken water line flooded our kitchen and living room. At first all appears to look good but once you sign up and work starts, we never saw or heard from our project manager again. Instead a finish carpenter was assigned to handle everything which totally did not work. It took over 4 months to get our cabinets and flooring replaced. The subcontractors they use actually did good work but they had to show up multiple times because of the poor communication from Mc Bride Construction Resources Seattle. There was many a time when someone was supposed to show and they didn’t and so we’d call and get an excuse and finally we just started calling the subs directly and essentially managing the job ourselves but of course McBride Construction still billed us a 10% overhead + 10% management fee for providing pretty much zero management. They even tried to bill us for work we’d done ourselves. I actually don’t like to write negative reviews so I’ll stop here but go read the other reviews here as there are others that also had my experience. I have remodeled and done construction projects before and understand just how much value a good responsible contractor can add and make your life easy. Do yourself a favor and find someone else.

These guys r great to work with and do great work! Theyve done a couple of jobs for me and were always super easy and friendly to work with. Sometimes Im leary about having to deal with mechanics and contractors, but these guys definately set me at ease. They are honest and explain things really well…

My insurance company referred me to McBride after a flood in my home. My husband and I had nothing but problems with them, and it turned out to be the most frustrating experience of our lives. While initial meetings to estimate the work to be done went smoothly, it became apparent that a lack of communication runs throughout the organization. No one took notes, from the estimator to the project manager to the handyman; as a result, we had to constantly reiterate the work that was needed throughout the entire six months we were stuck working with them. The project manager had no clue what his subcontractors or handyman were doing, the estimator couldn’t get ahold of him if we had a question and if we had to call the main office, the front desk made it difficult to get ahold of anyone. The only thing they did efficiently was get paid.
Once work began, it became clear that we were not taken seriously and were put on the back burner (even though our home was uninhabitable). The completion date kept sliding, as well as the start date. In all, we were out of our home for almost four full months. Once we were able to move back in, we repeatedly had to have work redone; painting was never completed, drawer pulls weren’t installed correctly, and every single curtain rod and wall shelf was crookedly hung. They also didn’t catch a single one of these mistakes — I don’t know if there were just so many issues that these slipped through or if they just don’t have any level of quality control and shelves that are too crooked to hold anything just aren’t obvious enough. We were both spoken down to in almost every interaction but, as a woman, I was especially condescended to (even though I personally would later have to repair many of the mistakes they refused to or were incapable of correcting).
During this process, workers would show up with little to no notice, no piece of work was done without issue and protest, and in general we had an absolutely terrible experience. Fingers were constantly pointed at subcontractors and we were even referred to talk directly to the subcontractors (one of which who just like McBride, wouldn’t return my calls).
Every piece of working with McBride was painful and aggravating. Save yourself the frustration and find literally anyone else. (I noticed there are two filtered reviews for McBride on here; sounds like we weren’t the only ones to have an appalling experience with them).
