Major Blinds

I had the BEST experience with Major Blinds. I called, left a message and they called me right back to set an appointment. Tristan came with samples, gave suggestions, etc. and then I said I needed to think about it. I called him on Saturday to leave a message and Tristan called me right back… on a Saturday! I was really pleased with the customer service. He also noticed that one of my older blinds (that I did not purchase from them) wasn’t working right so he said he could get a new part for it.
On the install, Oscar was amazing. He was early, very professional and when he left, I couldn’t tell he had ever been there except that I had my beautiful blinds installed. He also fixed my old blind, AND he put that one back up for me too which required a bit of work.
I would highly recommend! The blinds that I had bought from another company that were a little bit cheaper don’t work as well and since my husband installed them, they just never worked quite right. Luckily, Oscar came and saved the day. He installed my beautiful new blinds and fixed my old one for me so it finally works!!! I am so happy :)

Please feel free to open and read my original review. The experience stands. I still like the shades even though I don’t need to open them very often. But I am writing a lower star review because you should know that there are alternatives.
This updated review is for two reasons: Price and Time.
I needed some standard blinds to replace older blinds in my converted home office. My first instinct was to call Major Blinds, but I stumbled across another company, SelectBlinds, as I was browsing Unilocal on unrelated business. To my chagrin and surprise, Select Blinds had the same shades I bought from Major Blinds, but for half the price shipped. The only thing is, I would have to install them myself, which is fine. They’re just blinds, after all.
Setting price aside for a moment, Major Blinds took over a month end-​to-​end to get me shades fully installed. SelectBlinds took roughly 2 weeks from order placement to me receiving the product with the exact same motor and custom cut to my window opening (Major Blinds said that the motor and custom sizing were the reasons the process took so long, but it was really their own overhead with the order coordination and installer scheduling. SelectBlinds has no such overhead because you’re giving the website all of the data and you’re doing the install, and they give you the exact same motor.)
Please take my original review for its experience. I won’t change that review because it’s 100% accurate.
If you’re the type of person who wants the full experience and are willing to pay the extra premium for it (person comes to your house, offers suggestions, has samples, handles the order, etc), Major Blinds is probably the best there is. If you’re a budget conscious shopper or a DIY’er, consider SelectBlinds instead, because with select exceptions, they have the exact same inventory.

We recently had custom remote controlled blinds installed in the office by Major Blinds and I couldn’t be more pleased with the final product. It’s hard to imagine the space without them. The blind hardware matches the existing frames seamlessly and the fabric is a great accent to the office environment. The initial consultation with Tristin was really easy, he knew his stuff and listened to everything that I was looking for. Together we came up with the perfect design within our budget. The install happened a few weeks later and was quick without any interruption to business. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for custom blind solutions in their office or home.

I had roller blinds installed. Loved the shade design and they matched my décor perfectly while cutting the sun in my office so I could see the screen on my computer but allowed me to see my children playing outside. One of the shades cords broke, but major blinds came out and fixed the problem immediately. I would definitely recommend using them if you are if you are looking to buy and install new blinds in your home.

I recommend Major Blinds. I worked with the sales rep who was professional and provided good input when I asked for it. The prices were very reasonable and the entire process was easy. Everything was ready when they said it would be. Everything was installed well. I love how my blinds look! Thanks!

We had our whole house fitted and I would highly recommend them to all my friends and family. They were prompt and the prices were very fair. I shopped around with several other companies and Major Blinds really delivered. I love my new blinds!!!

We selected Major Blinds a couple of years ago when we replaced the blinds throughout our entire home with honeycomb shades. Tristan was fantastic. He was so helpful in selected the shades we needed for specific rooms and when there was a mistake at the factory with one of the shades, he took care of it without an issue and even came and installed it for us himself. First class all the way!

I am very pleased with my new blinds in my living room and master bedroom. The estimator did an awesome job explaining all the details and what to expect and came back to ensure I was totally clear on what I ordered. The blinds were delivered and installed on time and expertly.

We had a wonderful experience with Major Blinds. They installed blinds throughout our entire home, the rep was on time, courteous & able to answer all our questions. They installed Hunter Douglas black out blinds & we love them! The experience was excellent from start to finish, great company!

Good customer service and fabulous blinds! Brian — our salesman– was a pleasure to work with. He showed up on time, had good ideas for difficult windows, and was easy to talk with. The 14 blinds were installed quickly a few weeks later in under an hour and a half. The price was less than another major company, and had the look we wanted. I would recommend this company to my friends.

Glad I was referred to Major Blinds. Brian helped us select some beautiful window coverings and did his best to work with us on the price. The installer was equally as courteous and professional, even offering to clean some hard to reach windows since he was already up on his ladder installing the blinds.

From start to finish, Major Blinds will do the job right and if they don’t, they will fix it and make it right. They have excellent customer service and for us, communication is key. Our installation required exceptional attention to detail and care in handling for which the installer really came through on. He was thorough, thoughtful and professional. We really appreciate a company that employs people with those traits and skills. Thank you for making it a painless process. We’ll recommend you and use you again for sure!

We recently had an installation done by Major Blinds in a new property. Everything was taken care of quickly and painlessly and the sales rep was knowledgeable of all of the options available to us. Installation was handled quickly including a very difficult stairwell window that was roughly 15 feet high. Complications with this window (too tall to get a large enough angle to lock the blind) were handled professionally and a cleat was installed to allow us to keep the blinds open.

I wanted to like these guys, I really did.
It started out great, the rep who came out was nice, polite, on-​time, helpful and gave me a nice price.
The installer was a challange to comminucate with and eventually missed an appointment. When I emailed the sales rep to complain about the installer (and asked him to call me — which he never did) — he FORWARDED my email to the installer. It’s rude and unprofessional.
But okay, rep and installer a little frustrating — oh well.
Then, the installer came to do the blinds and he did a great job. My boyfriend was there and when the installer asked if he should charge MY credit card for the balance — my boyfriend replied «You will have to call or email her to ask that». I emailed the sales rep the next day and asked him to call me so we could take care of the balance over the phone. No one got back to me. Then to my surprise — they charged my credit card — WITHOUT my permission.
Unprofessional. Unacceptable.
The president of the company sent me a generic email to ask me to review the company (on Unilocal etc). I emailed him back to tell him I was frustrated and to please call me. A few hours later the office manager called me to ask me what the problem was. Now she was very nice and very apologetic about everything. She agreed that it is a big deal to charge someone’s credit card without their permission.
The president never did call me directly — I don’t know if that whole company has phone issues or what. It’s funny how a simple phone call can go along way, and the absence of one can easily leave a bad taste in a customers mouth.
At the end of the day — I have nice blinds and I got them for a good price. But ultimately I cannot recommend Major Blinds, one thing after another after another, I would much rather give my business to a company with better customer service.

Terrible customer service. I contacted this company for a quote and scheduled a time and date for a visit. The sales rep came out and initially I thought this would be a good company to work with. She answered all of my questions and seemed to have a good understanding of what she was selling. Prior to leaving she promised a quote by the end of the day or first thing the next morning. Thursday night came and went and so did Friday morning. I called the number listed on the website and talked to a very rude guy that was very condescending, sarcastic and very unhelpful. After a few minutes with this person I was told that he would call her and have her call/​email me that same day. After getting home from work and not having been contacted I found her card and called her 3 times that night. She never called back or emailed me. My wife and I emailed her later that night and again on saturday morning. After finally having to tell her if we didn’t get an email or phone call we would take our business elsewhere she «magically» emailed us back. The quote was twice what we had found available online and that didn’t include installation. We had a few questions regarding the quote and once again she stopped emailing us. We emailed again on sunday and then again monday. After telling her once again that this is not how we wish to conduct business, especially with such a large amount of money, she «magically» emailed back twice. First was an answer to our questions and second was to «apologize for having sunday and monday off». The tone in the second email was nothing short of rude and unprofessional. After all of this we had another company come out and do the same quote. Their quote was almost half of what major blinds quoted and their quote also included installation. After my experience I will never use major blinds for any future needs. Nor will I recommend them to anyone. In fact anyone I know that is even thinking about blinds, I will tell them even if they don’t ask what my experience was. Terrible customer service and very rude people. They could care less about helping their customers.
