Maaco Collision Repair & Auto Painting

I know, we’ve all heard horror stories about MAACO. Not this place – they were recommended to me by one of the highest rated car paint shops in Seattle as a slightly less expensive alternative for my old car. They do excellent work for a very reasonable price. The staff is friendly and competent. I highly recommend this shop.

The repair looks good, but the service was not. I was told the car would be ready on Friday morning, and that they would call when it was done. I waited until after noon to call them. I was told to call back at 3:15 to see if the car was done. At 3:15 it was supposedly ready, so I went to pick it up. Upon arrival at the office, the receptionist seemed overwhelmed by the three customers in the waiting area. I asked if the car was ready, and he went to check. 15 minutes later a different guy came back and said it was ready to go. I was paying with cash, and they didn’t have adequate change, so they sent me across the street to a different business to get change. I came back and waited another 10 minutes until they were done with two other people who’d come in while I was across the street.
This experience was frustrating because I planned my work schedule according to what I was told about the repair schedule. I missed an appointment because of the delay.

Very helpful, fast and friendly service. Ron went out of his way to work with my insurance and find the best estimate for me. The work they did looks amazing, very detailed, everything is fixed. I feel like I’m driving a brand new car!

All my interactions where very courteous. They set and met delivery time expectations. They did a great job matching the paint. The car looks great, though it has been over one year since I got the job done.
I would give them 5 starts except for this one. They didn’t properly mask all wiring and plumbing behind the front grill. So it all shows in bright metallic silver behind the grill.

I had my 1989 Mustang convertible painted here with some light bodywork for $ 1500 and change. When I came in I met Jake who took the time to explain the process, recommended what I needed, and assured me the car would look great when finished. The entire process took 2 weeks when I was told one week, but I also told them I was in no hurry. When I came in to pick the car up there were several small defects that still needed attention. There was also a gap in one of the panels I asked to have fixed when I dropped the car off. Some other gentlemen told me they could fix the panel gap for an additional $ 250 and we settled on $ 175. I picked up the car today and it honestly looks better than I had expected. There are still some small issues (overspray on some interior and one of the wheels) but overall I am pretty pleased with how the car turned out. I live in Marysville and specifically picked this shop because of Unilocal reviews. Jake was great, if you go in ask for him…, he will take care of you from start to finish.

My hood was quite matched and had numerous dings on my Audi. Went in and spoke to Justin who’s is wonderful. Was only going to get the hood painted and was uncertain about painting the entire car. Well the car is amazing, quite practical and sorry I did not do this earlier. Now I am scared to park in the marketplace for the reason that it seems like a brand new automobile. I am kind of picky about this type of thing which is a great occupation.

You are a complete fool if you come here.
The Unilocal ratings are entirely disingenuous of their ethics. These people will screw you over in an instant. They did not fix my car… after they had it for over a month and charged me $ 2000!
It took me months to go back and fix the damage they didn’t fix. I had to fight insurance because they vouched against me to cover their butts.

These guys are incompetent. They promised having my car back within four days, the main reason I chose them over other bids, and I didn’t end up getting my car back until 10 days later. If I didn’t actively follow up I feel like my car would still be in the shop «scheduled to be completed the next day.» After calling them every day starting on day four and hearing that my car would «absolutely be done the following day» I walked into the shop on Day 8 and work hadn’t even started on my car.
Customer service seems to be a foreign concept at this Maaco. Phone call updates that the manager was supposed to provide me every morning after my car had been delayed never happened. They also pulled a nice «bait and switch» regarding minor painting that was supposed to be done along with replacing my passenger side door. If for whatever reason you choose this shop just understand when they start talking about «special deals» the work included in the «special deal» won’t be done.
I have no idea how the Unilocal reviews are positive for this Maaco. My experience with them was an absolute nightmare.

I hit the curb with my Subaru. When I called to get an estimate for repairing the loose bumper, Jake was extremely nice and helpful. When I went in to get the estimate, Jake took one look at the loose bumper and said it would be no problem to fix it and would take about ten minutes. He put Orlando on the job and, sure enough, it took about ten minutes. The most amazing part was, they didn’t even charge me anything! I highly recommend this body shop because of their supportive, courteous staff and work above and beyond the call of duty. Thanks guys!

I had my car broken into while I was out on business and and saw that this place had decent reviews. My car basically had the drivers side side made inoperable because the burglar basically jammed a screwdriver into the lock. I couldn’t open the door or window so of course it had to be fixed.
The repair itself was quick and took only a few days. After I got the car back though, there were other issues that were not present before. The rear hatch would not open and the keyless entry would only unlock the drivers side door. I called the guys back and had the car brought in the following week because the guy that could fix it was out for a few days.
While they did fix the mistake they caused, I still noticed little cosmetic issues that they caused such as parts of the door not liking up flush and some coating on the windows that needed to be cleaned. This would have been a 4 star review had I not had to bring the car back because of something that happened during the repair.
Other then that, they are a pretty friendly bunch here.

Very frustrating customer service. Set your expectations for it to take longer than they estimate. But they are good, honest guys and do good work!
Dissatisfied as most of the low star people are here, that they are slower than their estimated time. It’s a struggle to work with their schedule… But they do a great job.
We have taken many cars to have them work on, maybe 6 – 8 and we keep coming back.
This time their 3 day estimate turned into a week because of a holiday. Mildly frustrating but great as long as you have the right expectations.

I brought my Mazda 6 for an estimate for some minor damage on the front headlight bumper. I dropped my car the week before Thanksgiving. They assured me that the car will be done within 4 days. Nobody called me on the day they were supposed to complete it, I called them on the 5^th day and was told to come and pick my car. I went there and Rob shows me the car and says it’s perfectly done, it is awesome like before. However, simply looking at the paint I could see an obvious difference in the fender and bumper paint, also the front fender was not properly aligned with the hood. Rob agreed to fix up the paint and the alignment after Thanksgiving, since I needed the car for the holidays. In the meanwhile, two days later, the paint on the bumper cracked by itself, not sure what quality paint it was, or maybe because the was not cured and dried up well. So i bring back my car on Monday after Thanksgiving and Rob tells me that he will try to fix it that day. I asked him if he’s positive they can finish it for one day and if not, I need a rental car. He said I need to call him around 2pm to decide what to do. I thought they should have called me since I’m bringing the car for second time in the shop but nonetheless I called him. The car was ready next day. I went to pick it up, Rob meets me at my car, says he inspected it and it was perfect. The hood alignment was not done again. The paint was fixed, certainly the fender and the bumper were blended, however there was (and still is) a stripe of excess paint below my headline. Ron asked me to leave my car so they can buff it but I decided that I had enough going back and forth and I besides my wife was waiting for me in the waiting area so I took the car as it is. Overall, I was not satisfied with the quality of the work as well as the communication with me. I found I had to push them to get some quality out, and the attitude that I got back rather not too customer friendly.

Dave and his team did an excellent job taking care of us for our rear door panel vs concrete post. Paying out of pocket is never fun but their quote was the most competitive out of three autobody shops. The car looks great. Highly recommend.

Found these awesome guys through really awesome Unilocal reviews (kudos to y’all) after I stupidly backed into a pillar in my apartment’s parking garage. Long story short, I’m not the most proficient at backing into tight parking spots so I ended up with a huge gash in my rear bumper and a small dent. It wasn’t the dent that bothered me, it was the gash that was about a foot long.
Made an easy appointment online on the main website for 7:30 am on Monday and was out in about 15 minutes with my car in the queue to be fixed up and a reasonable estimate in hand. Ron helped me bright and early — he is awesome and so nice. He told me to call in later that day to check in and get a better ETA. Therefore, I called in the afternoon, was helped immediately by Jake (who was also splendid to speak with) and given an ETA for Wednesday afternoon. These guys are serious about making your car looking new again. I called for an update on Wednesday mid-​afternoon and was told my car was ready and going through the wash. I bused it down to the shop to pick up my car and Jacob so kindly helped me check out and even gave me the best directions on how to get out of the Mercer Mess.
All I can say, these guys know what they are doing, especially for minor things like mine, and for a great price. Super professional, super delightful, and overall best service I’ve received! Thanks, Maaco!

Was very pleased with the paint job they did on Mini… The Dough-Nut’s trailer. We had a little mishap with one of their employees but the owner Dave came to one of our events with his wife and made it right.
The paint job was excellent and really made our trailer standout even more. We’re happy little donut maker’s.haha

There is a minor issue with my front bumper. I choose Maaco because it is very near to my office within 6 minutes walk.
I dropped in without appointment this morning. David did the estimation and it is fair enough.
I left the car there and walked back to m office.
After lunch, all the work is done. The car looks a new one.

I have absolutely nothing bad to say about my experience with Maaco in Seattle.
I walked out of a restaurant one night to find a large dent in the rear bumper of my Prius. A hit and run. I called up my insurance company, documented the incident, all of that, and they told me to pick a repair shop, so I Googled «Auto body repair Seattle» and this location came out on top, with positive reviews.
I can see why.
I was greeted by Dave when I showed up for an estimate. Dave’s estimate came in below what the insurance company gave me, and as my vehicle is leased and I wanted it returned to near perfect condition, I asked him to leave no stone unturned and spare no expense… so he changed the procedure and still came in below my insurance company estimate. I can’t ask for more than that.
I was out of town on a business trip during the repairs, so I dropped my car off on Sunday night and left keys in a key drop, returning Wednesday to find my car in good as new condition. Dave greeted me again, and escorted me to the car to ensure I was happy with the work. We shook hands and that was the transaction.
Minor repair for me, but confidence that if I ever need more extensive work done I have a place to go.

I brought in my 98 Honda Accord coupe to get it completely repainted, Dave helped me identify a couple of scratches and dents they could fix. This is the first time I have my car painted so without real comparison, I think the price is competitive. The results are very satisfying too, my Honda now looks like a Mercedes (well at least I think). they went all the way to make sure every area Dave mentioned is covered, even when one rusted splash guard was much harder to fix than it initially looks.
Only thing I have to mention, I was originally told it would take about a week, it ends up taking 3 weeks, Ron patiently responded my every status-​check call, big thumbs up to him. I had to rent a car for an event, but hey, overall I am happy with the service.

I’ve brought my car in a few times to get it fixed. Once to fix a dent in the passenger’s side door and again to replace my bumper.
Both times I went to a few places in Seattle to get quotes, and Maaco always provided the cheapest quote. So in wanting to save some money, I went with them.
The first time, they did a great job with the door. The paint job was near perfect. However, the door handle now doesn’t open all the way. It doesn’t affect the function of the door, so no big deal.
The second time, the new bumper they installed wasn’t flush with the rest of the car on the driver’s side. I pointed this out when I got the car back, and I was told the bumper should just snap in place and it is fastened by some clips and screws. So basically, I was told how it SHOULD be installed but not WHY it didn’t appear to be installed correctly. And then I was told nothing could be done about it, that’s just how the bumper is. The paint job looked really good, though.
So overall, it’s probably the cheapest place to get your car fixed. But it’s true what they say: you get what you pay for. While the problems I encountered are minor and don’t affect the overall function of the car, if you care about those details, Maaco may not be the place for you. The customer service is great and they do their best to try and accommodate their customers, but you’ll get what you pay for. I’m OK with that.

This is a difficult review to write. On the one hand, Ron and the guys DID make sure to fix every problem that came up. But in the end, I can’t honestly say I’d go back or recommend them.
Here’s the story:
June 1: I brought my car in for a quote and Ron helped me contact my insurance company and document all the damage. As my car is on an expensive temporary lease which charges me weekly, AND I’m an Über driver and need access to my car to make money, time was of the essence. Ron assured me it’d be finished by Friday.
June 5: Went that Friday afternoon to pick it up, not finished. This cost me $ 195 to keep it square with the leasing company another week.
June 6: They are NOT open on Saturdays, despite what their Unilocal page says.
June 9: Finally got the call on Tuesday to pick it up. Arrived to find my car still draped in plastic with parts missing. Was sent off to a coffee shop for 2.5 hours to wait for them to get it ready. Paid my deductible and took it to the leasing company’s inspection site; it didn’t pass. Maaco had neglected to remove the glass or the door handles, so there was paint on the rubber lining, the door handle had rough drippy spots on it, and just inside the door, the paint was unfinished too. Had to call my insurance to tell them not to pay as I’d have to bring it back to Maaco. I returned it ten minutes after closing, Ron had waited for me. He agreed to redo it. For the record, while I wasn’t thrilled with the drippy bits on the door handle, if it were my car, I wouldn’t have bothered to have it redone. The job was «good enough» in my book. But the leasing company is another matter.
June 12: Ron called to tell me it’s still not finished and that he’d reimburse me for the lease payment.
June 19: Picked it up with pristine paint work. They reimbursed me for the leasing fees. I returned it to the inspection site: ALMOST passed. The paint work was excellent, but Maaco had neglected to reinstall a console in the trunk. There were bits and bobs and wires hanging out. I’d have to take it back one more time, but by then, they were closed.
June 22: Returned it a final time and Ron took an hour to reinstall the last bits.
So they were very friendly and nice, and went out of their way to make it right. BUT for all the hassle (taking it back and forth), time (3 weeks is an awfully long time) and money it cost me (even though they reimbursed me for the lease fees, it still cost me a lot of money b/​c I couldn’t drive for Über while it was in the shop), I’ll go elsewhere in the future. Nice guys, but ultimately incompetent.
