Little Knits

I’m a knitter on a budget. I love little knits because of the deals. With that said, they can have limited hours and they are a bit hard to find. Well worth it if you can make it over (or order online)!

It has the best yarn selection at a great price in Seattle! The customer service is excellent. It is a little difficult to find in the old Rainier Brewery building. The great news is that there is lots of FREE parking. They have some patterns and accessories but the focus is YARN!!! And MORE YARN with lots of beautiful colors and textures.

I’m from Seattle and living in Pittsburgh so I was excited to see that this discount place online was so close to home. Great prices, for what looks like quality product. However, my online ordering was experience enough to tell me that this probably isn’t the greatest place to spend my money. I bought 21 skeins (to 10 skein bags plus 1 skein) on Saturday January 10^th. Now, it doesn’t say this anywhere on their website, but I thought by that Wednesday it probably would have shipped, because it’s generally three business days.
So, I contacted customer service via email. No response. Which is fine. I’m impatient, so Friday I called the business. A woman answered the phone and I asked her about it, and she said it usually only takes three days, so if it wasn’t shipped out that day (Thursday) it would for sure be shipped out tomorrow (Friday). Friday comes and goes, no shipping notice. I did however receive an email from their shipping department that stated it «usually takes three business days» but they sometimes «need a couple more days if they have a big order like they did on the 9^th». Okay, well… apparently they don’t handle their online business very well.
I didn’t have much sympathy for their shipping problems, but I said whatever and waited. Finally Monday they sent me a shipping notice— Actually two shipping notices. I had no idea which one was correct, or if they had charged me twice or what.
Yarn hasn’t shown up yet, but it’s only Thursday. I may feel the need to update if it comes back.
If you want to shop here, don’t do it for anything important that you need SOON. I’ll probably only do my shopping at the brick and mortar store and make minimal contact with employees, because they don’t seem to happy about answering questions.

Owner is awful. She has made me cry at least twice when I came in the store and she was bitchy to me, so I stopped shopping here in 2009.
Then this year she contacts me and says she has a check from 2009 that she never cashed, and can she cash it? I advised her that I became disabled and lost my job, have no money, and no — I am in no position to have that cashed.
So what happens? Today she cashes it and makes my account negative.
Disrespectful and uncaring. AVOID.
