This is such a neat little place! Great for a date night or even just a solo getaway. If you plan to arrive before any rush times, definitely ask to sit in the lounge chairs right by the water…(permitting good weather of course). You can soak up a little sun, enjoy the view and watch the kayakers drift by; it’s extremely relaxing. We decided to get a half dozen of a few varieties of oysters to share as well as the pickled vegies. These pickled vegies are absolutely mouth watering and you’ll probably want a second helping. It had very unique choices of fruits/vegies; I was particularly blown away by the pickled strawberry: DELICIOUS.

Food is unique and good. Person working at the center bar area was very cool, very accommodating. He made certain we had a great time. Waiter spilled drink on us but he stepped in and cared. Thank you

The Little Gull shares the same space at Westward, but is a great place to go if you are looking for drinks and oysters. My experience has always been as a compliment to the Westward menu. The oyster offerings are as good as Walrus and the Carpenter or any other place I have been in Seattle. Definitely take a look at the oyster menu whether you are just sitting at the bar or enjoying a splendid dinner at Westward. What did I learn today? Come before 5:30 as it fills up quickly after that.

I already voted Westward for Best Date Night Restaurant because of their fabulous patio seating. I love the extra mile they take to make fresh wood-oven bagels from scratch. I love their Foraged wild mushroom frittata, Fried Pacific oyster roll with fried pickles and remoulade sauce, and Smoked manila clam dip. Their menu is Northwest seafood focused with Greek Mediterranean flavor profiles.

This place is a winner! The merchandise is fun to browse and added to the ambience but nothing stood out begging to be purchased. Excellent cocktails with surprising flavor combos – THANKYOUANDY McCLELLAN. The Captain’s Chair may be the best, most balanced and complexed cocktail I have had to date(and I have had many). Blended scotch, honey, coffee liqueur, lemon… YUM. Good oyster selection too, $ 3 a pop though, with a way too tart mignonette. But… great Pacific selection(Judd Cove and Olympia were winners) I’d prefer sitting at the Little Gull Bar and watching the shuckers over sitting in Westward’s main dining area. Or taking drinks and a wool blanket outside to the waterfront firepit.

Little Gull Grocery is directly connected to Westward, and in fact, you can see the dining room and the restaurant bar from the counter. But Little Gull is still a neat little space in its own. The small room is split between a counter(oyster bar) and groceries, which is a term used lightly here. You have choice items such as sardines from Matiz, some nice wines and beers, oyster shucking knives, t-shirts, etc. It’s not a huge selection, but heck, if I am on a boat, and need to do a little shopping at place where I can park my boat, then Little Gull works nicely. As for the oyster bar, I liked the smaller size and the fact that it doesn’t get too crazy. I had some of the best oysters(they also offer the full menu from Westward), which were shucked perfectly with no shell fragments(last time at Walrus when it was packed, each bite turned into a minefield…), and served with a complex mignonette with black and pink peppercorn and aged banyul vinegar. They do not have a dozen varieties, but they have a decent selection and the focus is on quality, not quantity. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience at Little Gull. Service was excellent, educational, and friendly. And even if you are walking or driving to the place, it makes for a nice stop during the day or evening for some great oysters.

some of the best lamb i have ever had! That is a tough sentence to even utter but it is true and the salad and tzatziki sauce was fresh and amazing. The oysters that chef david are shucking are always fresh and delicious i don’t know he can shuck such a perfect oyster you are always in good hands with david he is a true professional. The menu is good but of course i would like more selection. I have had everything on the menu twice and would describe it as Fresh and Good. a bit over priced over all but what a little jewel i almost hesitate to write this because this place will be too busy next year i am sure.

Love, Love, LOVE! I love absolutely everything about this place. I’ve been here twice, once for a date night with the hubs. We sat in the best seat in the house and watched the city skyline light up. It was magical. We ate oysters and drank champagne and it was perfection. The guys are very knowledgeable about oysters, they took all the time in world with us educating us about the different species. The famed oyster bar manager, David, took the time to show us how to shuck. It was wonderful. So much so that we came back with a group for happy hour. There were 6 adults and my 15 month old son, which they had a highchair that hung from the bar, so he could join us! He loved the fried chick peas while we ate more oysters, and calamari(my friend said it was the best she ever had). With oyster newbie’s in our group, they took just as much time explaining everything and anything they’d want to know. They clearly are super knowledgeable and love sharing that knowledge, which makes me LOVE going there.

This place is so cute! Get there quick while we still have some nice weather! They have their own little«beach» with an amazing view of downtown. We sat in the adirondack chairs and enjoyed some happy hour wine and oysters. The service was super friendly and at $ 5.00 for HH wine and $ 1.00 oysters, I will definitely be back. I look forward to trying lunch at this cute spot.

So„ don’t get confused between Westward and this place. One side is more dinning, and this place is a grocery store, an oyster bar and a coffee stand. You are in a hurry, and no time to sit and eat. This place is the right place to get some fresh seafood on the run! If you read my review on Westward, then you have already read my experience at this place. I sat at the bar and ordered some fresh tap beer and oysters. I am not sure if they would let you order food from Westward. I got the blessing from Josh. ;) They have lamb burger only until 5:30pm. The fired oysters were only in the morning… I didn’t get to try them. Anyways, in case you are curious about how the food is on the other side. Below is the same review I wrote for W. Bring your girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, love ones, special ones, to this place. You won’t forget the experience! — — – Beets sauce with salmon! omG! Their oysters were so good. Summer won’t be summer until you had some real awesome oysters! I had shigoku and kumo. Fried squid is so soft and yummy! Mouthwatering. Interesting mathed with mashed potatoes… with lemon and skorthalia! Grilled halloumi cheese Must get this! It’s a surprise when you eat it. Yummy to your belly! Grilled mackerel Burnt eggplant and tahini… Needless to say. sparkles and fireworks in my head!!! Well done with mixing the fruit with fish meat again!!! Summer chowdah Unexpected chowder! You would never imagine what it looks like. Delicious clams swimming between the cod. I almost wanted to lick the plate clean. Sweet corn with berry for desert: Another delicious… well finish for the entire dinner. You can taste the sweet Skagit Valley out of this Cornish penna cotta! I would die for if someone proposed, bought the whole place for a wedding reception and I get invited!!! Invite me please?! Bathrooms: love the diaper changing table… Not baby friendly.
