Used to be a great station. Now they just play the same 50 songs over and over and over and over and over… like most metropolitan «today’s country» stations. And some of the personalities are annoying — like Pat Garrett in the afternoons, who talks over 100% of the beginning of the song. Come on, leave the instrumental part in and give the voice a rest until the end! Sometimes the DJs talk over the first line of the song. And the commercials are endless… It used to be a great station and showed loads of heritage in Seattle, but in my opinion I’m going to internet to escape this, and KKWF. Same stuff over and over.

It’s 2 am and I’m still up working on a deadline listening to KMPS because most of the songs are new enough that I don’t know the words and can’t sing along. Except that they did just play Alabama’s ‘If You’re Gonna Play in Texas You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band’. I think I woke the kids up singing to that one. Sshh. If you listen to country in Seattle this is just about your only choice. Since I only listen for a few hours every couple of weeks it doesn’t get too stale with repeated latest hits (at least for me) though I wish I’d hear more «classics». Johnny Cash was cool before Joaquin portrayed him and who doesn’t love ‘The Devil Went Down to Georgia’? Don’t answer that.
