King County Metro Bus Route No 9

Departure times from Rainier Beach are entirely fictional despite it being the departure point.
I think the drivers must have a guaranteed rest period before headed back, because the next bus will sit around the corner on Henderson with no consideration for schedule.

This bus saved me from my post work transit anxieties that were induced by the 3 and 4 lines. An express route that takes me just a couple blocks from my apartment. Every 30 minutes. I have my commute timed out just right that I can leave work in Bellevue and make it to the 9 with no more than a 10 minute wait. It’s never full, and while you have some typical bus characters I never fear for my personal safety while on this bus. Docked a star because it stops running after 6 (visits to Columbia City would be soooo much more practical if the 9 ran later). But really ya’ll. This bus makes me happy.

Ever have a moment where you thought you saw something in the corner of your eye then wonder for the rest of the day if you actually saw it? The 9 bus is that brainfart.
The 9 bus is likely little more than a figment of our collective imaginations or either a very entertaining myth. We see the number on bus stops on Broadway and Rainier but has anyone actually seen this bus more than once in a day? Or ridden it? Of course not. That’s because this bus doesn’t actually exist. It’s the bigfoot footage of buses. Mexican farmers say the 9 kills their goats at night. The 9 comes from the deep and knocks over unsuspecting fishing boats. Well not really but may as well.
You are much better off catching the 60 and the 7, two buses that actually come on a more than once an hour basis. The 9 would rock if it ran more often. But alas, it doesn’t.
